Got a Magic Blue, Blonde leather S90 T8 in Inscription Pro a month ago (after a C Class) and boy, has this been an upgrade and a half or what. Such a stunning car - unpretentious, understated, and achingly cool. ALL of the additional options are so brilliantly worth it; and I'm so looking forward to the preconditioning function in the winter - entering a warm and toasty car in the mornings! I'm 42, and I feel like instead of joining a Members-only club, I've bought one. Love it! ❤
Again, I think this review hits the nail on the head perfectly for these Volvo Plug-in Hybrids.
Between the S60 Recharge and S90 Recharge, the S60 is definitely the "drivers" car and the S90 is the "executive" car. Really, unless you're willing to pay at least $10k extra and make a few sacrifices to please the people in the back seat then the S60 is the better buy. Compared to the S60, in the S90 you're basically giving up some performance, EV range, and eMPG to get extra rear room, better rear center drop down console, and automated peasant blockers.....I mean sun shades.
Really the only thing you get with the S90 over the S60 that would benefit the driver is ventilated seats and a bigger trunk. While nice, it's hard to justify the extra cost and sacrifices you'd have to make to get them. And if trunk space is important to you, you could always get the V60 Recharge to get an even bigger trunk than either of the S variants while getting performance closer to the S60 than the S90.
The big body looks much better, in my opinion.
Can you comment on real world EV range? I know it’s rated for 38 miles, but what did you realistically get?

Do you have to chqrge it? Can it charge it selve?
It's both a mild hybrid and a plug in hybrid. The combustion engine uses regenerative energy from braking etc, but There is a completely separate battery in the rear which is charged by plugging the car in. Hope that helps.
