Taika Waititi is a genius. This movie went from being laugh out loud funny to having an immediate tone shift to being fairly dark and somber. And that shift is handled BEAUTIFULLY.
This song is my fave in the soundtrack. Everything was so happy and then the agents came and then his mum died and this song just shows that shift perfectly
Who ever said someone in Nazi German uniform covered in 'feathers for aerodynamics', ''sequins to dazzle the enemy' and a cape couldnt be taken seriously, eh?
I saw this movie yesterday and I loved it. It's a masterpiece, and this song is awesome. Listening this song I feel "free" but at the same time a little nostalgic. Little anxiety but in a strange way. And I also feel relaxed. This song make me feel so many emotions. I don't know for what in specific, but this song make me some chills.
I went to see the movie yesterday, I'm not attracted to war movies but my friend wanted to see it so we went. I am absolutely gobsmacked about how amazing this movie is. That kind of magic rarely happen. So glad I have friends with better taste in movies than mine. I'm recommending it to everyone I cross path with now!
Before seeing the movie, I had talked to my grandma, who grew up in Nazi Germany, about what it was like. She told me people were starving, picking up rubble and living in fear of whoever was going to get to them first. She was only a couple years older than JoJo, and when this scene came on, I suddenly truly understood the reality. She hadn’t been sugarcoating it, and neither had the movie. I am so happy this movie exists to show the horrors and HUMANITY in Nazi Germany, with a perfect balance of both. This scene was probably the most heartbreaking, for I felt less like I was watching JoJo, and more like a window into my own family’s past.
Ellen V. Yeah but couldn’t and didn’t watch it. Now i can’t and won’t. Don’t feel bad i was hyped to watch this movie on weekend. I was 😡😉 No I will wait for few months until I forget about this comment.
Here after watching Jojo Rabbit for the 4th time. I cannot appreciate enough this movie. I think there are some hidden meanings in a lot of scenes, you can detect it only if you pay attention a lot. Crazy how Taika Waititi managed to keep the movie as comedy and sad at the same time, and the sarcasm it is very well expressed. Also hats off to the young star Roman Griffin Davis, should have been nominated for an Oscar, he deserved

Arthur Lee and his band Love were terribly underrated. Their album "Forever Changes" from November 1967 is a classic, and although it didn't sell well, it became a classic and Rolling Stone puts it in its list of Top 40 greatest albums of all time. And their take on Burt Bacharach's Little Red Book is a classic (Burt hated it). And just listen to their incredible "7 and 7 Is" best done by The Ramones and The Bangles. In fact, the drumming on "7" was one of the most influential moments of the punk movement 10 years later. Sadly, Arthur was getting his life on track and having a comeback with a revival of Forever Changes when he was diagnosed with leukemia, and he died in 2006.
not exaggerating when I say this film saved my life. to see two young people go through absolute crap and come out on the other end dancing, and those amazing words from Rilke at the end (now my favourite poem) when I was at my lowest considering suicide was phenomenal. I’m doing a lot better now, but I still cry every time I watch the film.
