- This week we are extremely excited to bring you to Muir Woods National Monument. We were very excited as we've never seen giant redwoods before and wanted to see them in person. And we can tell you, they are massive and beautiful.
Muir Woods National Monument is a park located about a 30-minutes drive north of San Francisco. It is part of California's Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It is known for its towering old-growth redwood trees. A numerous number of trails wind among the trees. There are different difficulties to some of the trails so be sure to research which trail you should take.
This attraction is a must-see for anyone looking to get up close and personal with some of California's most famous topography, as well as a break from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco's city center.

I grew up just over the hill from Muir woods in the fifties .
my advice is go very early in the morning , find a quiet spot if possible , sit down , close the eyes and ,,,,,

I adore Manhattan and San Francisco and Mt. Tamala’s and Muir Woods!! Mill Valley would be bliss to live in but of course very quiet compared to Manhattan! I adore the West Village!! Terrific video!!

Thank you for posting this. I'll be visiting SF soon and this gave me an idea of what to expect and I feel better informed now to make this National Park visit or not considering that we have a 4 yo and a 2 yo. If you are ever in Western Australia, you should visit The Valley of the Giants. Very similar in sheer size, but there are walkways all the way "up there", which is quite unique.
Muir Woods is is amazing and if you have time visited Yosemite National Park... enjoy your vacation

a word of caution . if you are going to rent a car make sure you prepay the toll for crossing the Golden Gate bridge AT The place where you rent the car , otherwise you will get a nasty surprise in the mail.

You do the same thing what I do, traveling to explore the beautiful places. I live in Florida but traveling right now. The matter of fact I visited today Muir Woods National Monument. Very cool place to see these massive trees so close to San Francisco 👍

What kind of camera are you using? The whole 360 sequence starting at timestamp 4.25 looks like you may have a 360 camera like insta360 or similar... Just curious :)
This was filmed majority on our iPhone! It’s can go pretty wide. It’s funny cause we wanted to get the insta360 for this trip but just used our iPhones instead 😆
