Bappi lahiri is our indian real like michael jackson today nobody like bappi lahiri composition like habibba egyptian music. iam also heavy metal musician. give support for bappi lahiri & his wife is my sister and his musicians. hats off to bappi lahiri
One of the most ultimate disco song ever in this world from Bappi Lahiri superb song superb drum beats or rythm pad. bappi lahiri wants to continue this type of western disco music album like habiba in 1980's.
Why Habiba sounds so different from Bappi Lahiris other work is that this is entirely programmed and produced by British producers Francis Usmar and Martyn Phillips, recorded in Utopia studios London in 1987. This song was a product of sampling and beat slicing on synclaviers and akai samplers which was creating a new wave then. Bappi da knew the upcoming sample based dance music wave and quickly got to collaborating with these two talented producers.
Thanks for the recognition🙂We did use Akai samplers using either Pro-24 or Notator (the ancestor of Logic Pro). I had moved on from using Fairlights (and PPG Waveform) but never got to use a Synclavier. The bass was a Yamaha TX802,. I booted up the synth yesterday to see if I still had it in the memory but unfortunately the battery died and I lost my old sounds on it. Do ask if you have any other queries about the recording. There may be re-release coming soon so watch this space!
@@nottherealmartynphillips5610 oh damn man it’s you.. been looking for you since 1988! Bappi Lahiri has since gone over the rainbow.. I knew the first time I heard it that it was NOT a Bombay production. I also happened to see a ‘live’ act where there were congos, bassist, guitarist drummer and a DX7 and a D50 and I was damn sure that the song was coming off a tape and nothing on the stage could pull it off except perhaps the bass from the DX7 except there was no sequencer or drum machine on stage.. I hoped that one day I would run into the man and ask him about the story of the song and now you are here breaking it to me
@@hermeslord Hehe - you found me.. At least they got the DX7 right :-) I did have a D50 (actually a D550) at the time but don't think it got on the record. I think I recently saw the performance you mention - was the the one with a somewhat bemused sax player holding his Instrument and not knowing what to do with it? I may drag Francis onto the thread too as he has a good memory of what we got up to.
