It's not "The Voice," but "The Singer," a much more professional show with only professional singers competing. They're invited to come. There are no awful performances, no embarrassing critiques, and Dimash (22 then) was the youngest ever to appear on their show and the only foreigner. That's why he did NOT actually win, but came in second. They didn't want to give the prize money to a foreigner. They did, however, make Dimash an overnight success, kept inviting him back for featured performances, so in a nutshell, they love him there. He gives lots of concerts in China. Oh, S.O.S., was the first song he sang on "The Singer." Even though you've heard him perform it, it's exciting to see the faces of the audience being mind blown.

It was called the I Am Singer Competition for advanced and popular Chinese artists, and Dimash was invited as a wildcard performer to fill the last vacant spot. He was not known there, and was not expected to get past the first night, but he brought the house down as the first singer on the first night for 2017, and broke Chinese internet with 12 million views overnight, waking up to having guards outside of his bedroom. They accompanied him everywhere for the 3 month comp. He got immediate international fame from singing SOS on that first night. He could not win as the prize required fluent Mandarin, so they made him Runnerup.

The band named A'Studio that accompanies Dimash, is the same one that composed the song minus the lead singer named Batyrkhan Shukenov, who died of a heart attack in 2015. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, (the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.) The tones in the middle are oriental Arab technique (or traditional Qazaq singing, called Joqtaw. It is a lament to the deceased singer). The last run is 24 seconds on 1 breath. The man in the white shirt giving a standing ovation at the end is Igor Krutoy. This is the first time he heard Dimash. He came out of retirement after seeing this competition to begin his collaboration with Dimash.

Apparently Dimash's vocal cords are a bit longer than most. He has also studied music since he was 5. I guess when you start learning to sing correctly at that very young age it probably helps a lot. He has also said that he practices 3 hours a day. Even when he was 22 he had had 17 years of training and practice! 🇨🇦

In a statement I read that Dimash was the vocalist he had been waiting for all his life.
The man on his feet in the white shirt is Igor Krutoy, a famous composer, who went backstage after this performance, came out if semi-retirement just to work with Dimash. Out of this coupling came some if Dimash's, most loved works, some of which were older songs of Igor's that he covered and some written specifically fo Dimash. They were a phenomenal team and are still great friends today. Look for The Love of Tired Swans (cover), Olimpico (original) and the ethereal Ave Maria (original) and we cant forget the amazing Stranger also written for Dimash by Igor.

Officially, Dimash took second place at the singing contest in China, but in terms of talent he was certainly in first place, because in billion-year-old China, a country-civilization with a thousand-year history, he had almost no chance to beat local, undoubtedly gifted singers. The Chinese invite foreigners to competitions to raise the prestige, the status of the competition, but it is exclusively the Chinese who win, even if he/she is from Hong Kong, Taiwan or mainland China.
The band is named "A Studio". This is their song from many years ago which had a totally different style. But no matter what they look like these guys aren't shocked. You have to remember they've already rehearsed with him for this performance. If you had stayed with the video a little longer You would have listened to him thank the band and give them their due. I'd like to offer a couple of constructive reaction tips. Try to pick your pauses more strategically, i.e. at the end of phrases or lyrics lines or during instrumental breaks or interludes. That way you don't pause the performer mid note or mid phrase. The other thing is when you pause back The video up 5 seconds before restarting. That way you don't miss any of it including some transitions which you may have paused on. That being said, of course, how you handle it is your call.
Yes, everyone should stand up. But at least the billionaire musician/composer/producer in the white shirt stood up for Dimash. That's Igor Krutoy and the composer of at least 3 of Dimash's top songs after this time.

Dimash also sings pop music. "BE WITH ME" "FLY AWAY" "ZHALYN" and some movie sound tracks like "ACROSS ENDLESS DIMENSIONS" a sci fi movie. And he's also a huge Michael Jackson fan. Unfortunately, the lead singer of the A-Studio band died in 2015. Dimash honored the deceased singer with the tribal vocalization which a Kazakh commentor identified as a singing technique used in Kazakhstan called 'komeymen aytu,' a form of Tuvan throat singing. Various forms of this technique are used throughout Central Asia. Both Dimash and Erlan Bekchurin, who arranges most of Dinash’s songs, are steeped in Kazakh folk music. If you listen closely, you will hear echoes of that in almost every song.

That's true. The fame of king of vocal is huge
It's not "The Voice," but "The Singer," a much more professional show with only professional singers competing. They're invited to come. There are no awful performances, no embarrassing critiques, and Dimash (22 then) was the youngest ever to appear on their show and the only foreigner. That's why he did NOT actually win, but came in second. They didn't want to give the prize money to a foreigner. They did, however, make Dimash an overnight success, kept inviting him back for featured performances, so in a nutshell, they love him there. He gives lots of concerts in China. Oh, S.O.S., was the first song he sang on "The Singer." Even though you've heard him perform it, it's exciting to see the faces of the audience being mind blown.

It was called the I Am Singer Competition for advanced and popular Chinese artists, and Dimash was invited as a wildcard performer to fill the last vacant spot. He was not known there, and was not expected to get past the first night, but he brought the house down as the first singer on the first night for 2017, and broke Chinese internet with 12 million views overnight, waking up to having guards outside of his bedroom. They accompanied him everywhere for the 3 month comp.
He got immediate international fame from singing SOS on that first night.
He could not win as the prize required fluent Mandarin, so they made him Runnerup.

The band named A'Studio that accompanies Dimash, is the same one that composed the song minus the lead singer named Batyrkhan Shukenov, who died of a heart attack in 2015. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, (the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.)
The tones in the middle are oriental Arab technique (or traditional Qazaq singing, called Joqtaw. It is a lament to the deceased singer). The last run is 24 seconds on 1 breath.
The man in the white shirt giving a standing ovation at the end is Igor Krutoy. This is the first time he heard Dimash. He came out of retirement after seeing this competition to begin his collaboration with Dimash.

Apparently Dimash's vocal cords are a bit longer than most. He has also studied music since he was 5. I guess when you start learning to sing correctly at that very young age it probably helps a lot. He has also said that he practices 3 hours a day. Even when he was 22 he had had 17 years of training and practice! 🇨🇦

These middle easter sound (melisma) he does in one or another song. It’s really awesome.
The thing with the flowers has something to do with respect for the artist. It's a cultural thing. The audience listens to a performance without yelling or screaming that the artist can no longer be heard. No sound may be missing. In return, they then shower Dimash with flowers and gifts. That's the norm there. He then always donates the flowers to hospitals, retirement homes or similar institutions.

The gentleman at the end you see standing and clapping is the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship.
Too bad you didn’t see the video to the end. There you could have seen a little humble speech after the performance.
If possible, always watch the videos to the end. Very often there are interesting things to learn. Either there’s something to laugh about, or he’s talking to his audience. He always thanks his musicians. He is incredibly humble and never acts like a star. When he is praised, he constantly says that it is thanks to his teachers and his parents, who made it all possible for him. He’s just incredible.

Olimpico is another masterpiece that Igor Krutoy wrote especially for Dimash’s vocal skills. It was written for the 2nd European Games in Minsk, Belarus 2019. And that’s why the lyrics are also very motivating.
This song and this performance from this Arnau concert is my absolute favourite🥰 I think this version is the best, because his performance is so intense and breathtaking. The light show, the background dancers. Everything. With this song in this version I always get breathlessness. The way he represents himself on stage, the hand movements. I think he has incredibly beautiful hands🤭(and apparently many cameramen think so too, since many of the camera shots during his performances very often only show his hands. Sometimes it seems as if he is conducting himself. This is really fascinating). And the facial expression, the look. There he looks so commanding😱. In my opinion, this version of Olimpico is one of the most impressive performances ever. If you don't know what the song is about, you'd think he was going to war and is calling his army to a lost battle 😅! It’s absolutely stunning. In a statement I read that Dimash was the vocalist he had been waiting for all his life.

The man on his feet in the white shirt is Igor Krutoy, a famous composer, who went backstage after this performance, came out if semi-retirement just to work with Dimash. Out of this coupling came some if Dimash's, most loved works, some of which were older songs of Igor's that he covered and some written specifically fo Dimash. They were a phenomenal team and are still great friends today. Look for The Love of Tired Swans (cover), Olimpico (original) and the ethereal Ave Maria (original) and we cant forget the amazing Stranger also written for Dimash by Igor.

Officially, Dimash took second place at the singing contest in China, but in terms of talent he was certainly in first place, because in billion-year-old China, a country-civilization with a thousand-year history, he had almost no chance to beat local, undoubtedly gifted singers. The Chinese invite foreigners to competitions to raise the prestige, the status of the competition, but it is exclusively the Chinese who win, even if he/she is from Hong Kong, Taiwan or mainland China.
The band is named "A Studio". This is their song from many years ago which had a totally different style. But no matter what they look like these guys aren't shocked. You have to remember they've already rehearsed with him for this performance. If you had stayed with the video a little longer You would have listened to him thank the band and give them their due.
I'd like to offer a couple of constructive reaction tips. Try to pick your pauses more strategically, i.e. at the end of phrases or lyrics lines or during instrumental breaks or interludes. That way you don't pause the performer mid note or mid phrase. The other thing is when you pause back The video up 5 seconds before restarting. That way you don't miss any of it including some transitions which you may have paused on. That being said, of course, how you handle it is your call.
And as you could notice in your reactions, he's sang in French, English and here in Russian 🤩😁

Sinful Passion - The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. Moreover, in the final part he added, with an oriental technique (from the Kazakhstan region). The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band name is A'Studio (Kazakh pop music group based in Russia, "Alma-Ata Studio", Almaty city). The dead singer (who Dimash was a fan of) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poetess Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the long-haired keyboardist, who we see in the video that accompanies Dimash.

Dimash also sings pop music. "BE WITH ME" "FLY AWAY" "ZHALYN" and some movie sound tracks like "ACROSS ENDLESS DIMENSIONS" a sci fi movie. And he's also a huge Michael Jackson fan. A-Studio is a band that was originally from Kazakhstan. Their keyboard player seen here, Baigali Serkebaev, composed this song together with the poet Ilia Reznik in 1998. Unfortunately, the lead singer of the A-Studio band died in 2015. Dimash honored the deceased singer with the tribal vocalization which a Kazakh commentor identified as a singing technique used in Kazakhstan called 'komeymen aytu,' a form of Tuvan throat singing. Various forms of this technique are used throughout Central Asia. Both Dimash and Erlan Bekchurin, who arranges most of Dinash’s songs, are steeped in Kazakh folk music. If you listen closely, you will hear echoes of that in almost every song.
