Mon Cal hands make miracles
Cool animation, but very unlikely that they'd stand off nose-to-nose, shooting at each other all day. The cap ships would be maneuvering for superior position, and the movies show us most of them are capable of devastating broadsides. While the ISD may have the most guns, the cruiser is likely more agile, and could use armor facing to last the fight.
It's not an animation, it's an npc battle in the game star wars empire at war, that's why it's a fairly static battle, the mechanics of the game make the ships in a 1v1 maintain an ideal position (even if not realistically) to shoot.
If it was realistic, they will send fighters
One thing that would make ISD a bigger threat is take gun towers that are on the sides push a little to the side enough that make then clear to fire and they still do devastating damage from broad sides and foward.

Interesting outcome, but it would be the same with vanilla Empire at War too, I remember back in the days shield boost made huge difference, only way the MC80 could win is to take away the ISD's bomber that come included in its pop number, otherwise ship to ship combat MC80 seemed better, didnt even worth building ISDs I always stopped at Victory class, more bombers/pop.
The ISD is fighting stupidly here. It should pitch to allow all of its heavy turbolaser turrets to fire on the MC80.
The MC 80 Star Cruisers are known to be the only Starships in the Alliance To Restore The Republic that can challenge and defeat the Galactic Empire's Imperator Class Star Destroyers, not to mention that they also have multiple shield generators.
Yeah, in the Remake mod the IDS strongest turbolasers cant schoot over one another. It can schoot strong broadsides though.
In this case i would've angled the ISD to the side so the turrets (including ion cannon) can open fire. Then maybe the ISD could have won.
It depends on what ISD, or SD, you are talking about. ISD2s, and Allegiances, don`t have this probably in game. When Victory 2s get added in, they shouldn`t as well.
@@90skidcultist I dont think the ISD 2 has this issue, or at least not as bad. The ISD 1 turrets are quite a bit bulkier.
why couldnt the ISD use its weapon over charge ability?
The Mon cal got its over charge shields after all.
It was meant to take on "ISD 1" and smaller Star Destroyers. Plus, it needs to be broadside in this mod. Otherwise, ISD1s still have an advanctage in legends lore.

Author of remake mode sometimes are making stupid things nobody asked for.
Not true at all a lone ISD with no support ships is easy pickings for a more well rounded mon cal ship

Indeed, Mon Cala cruisers are superior in power. But for visual impact nothing compares to a fleet of Imperial Star Destroyers.
