Mathy Statics Problems + Virtual Work | Kalda Mechanics Series Ep. 4

  • In this video, 3 statics problems are presented. The first involves using the idea that potential energy will be minimized and some mathematical tricks, such as noticing the locus of some points is a circle. The second uses the classic normal force plus friction force vector and makes sure that the torque is in the right direction, it is looking at the physics of a stopper (a particular one). The last one uses the virtual work to study a scissor arm, which is quite easy (if you know virtual work), and is a good introduction to it if you don't already know it.

    In problem 11 I can't imagine how the equilibrium go out so for improving it for me I must solve it by Newtown and torques equations, So can you solve it by these equations ?

    Hey.. I was wondering.. what software you used for writing?.. like you can also use geogebra in it..

      I just use microsoft whiteboard for writing. To get geogebra, I just added a screen capture of geogebra using obs.
