Abandoned High School in the North East

- I sneaked into an old high school in the North east that is due to be demolished in the next few weeks, there were builders on site and I had to sneak around them, alot of the rooms were stripped with plastic on the floor and walls, like a kill room from dexter haha. Alot of the rooms still had the kids work on the walls, the media room still had all the old tables and art work on the walls, inside the old science block, it was like stepping back in time, the stuff was that old. The old sports hall was pitch black inside and still had a load of balls laying around and was a bit Creepy inside.
I spent 2 years here for 6th form! I had no idea it was abandoned, so strange to see it in this state. I used to spend my breaks and lunches in the big communal area with the food hatch, and took my exams in the small sport hall. I'm even in that photo at 14:46!! (it was taken in Ambleside) I can't believe that's still up as this trip was in 2015 :D great explore

@@geordieurbex2200 haha its alright mate I have all the pictures from that trip saved anyway cause they emailed them to us, can't tell you how surreal it was for you to suddenly pan over to a photo on the wall that I'm in 🤣 mental
They built a new one next to it
I'm a current student in year 10 so I had this building before the new one
they should of just kept the old building , looks like there is nothing up with it.
I know but sometimes things need a update

Can an ask how you find the locations mate? I’m really into this but don’t know how to find these places to explore, it’s just myself and like you it interest me and am just wanting a look around. I’m also based in Newcastle.
Keep your eyes open for boarded up stuff, use Google earth for hours, look on local fb groups for abandoned or derelict stuff
its not fully abandoned some bits are staying
Only the small d block is staying, the rest is coming down
Which school is this?
Whitley Bay High School. The new one has already been built and the old one is in the process of being demolished. Only built in 1962 it's had issues with high alumina cement in the past (70s) and likely RAAC and asbestos now as well. The school kindly arranged several tours of the old buildings back in February and April before the demolition.
I went to one of those tours in February. I would love to see it abandoned before it’s knocked down. Don’t know how much has been knocked down yet

It looks like you missed out the D&T rooms. It would be interesting to see if they'd left the old woodworking benches there. They were still there when I did a tour of the place earlier in the year. They'd have fitted in at Beamish
There was 1 side of the place, opened the door nd could hear people inside, so decided not to go that way haha
