wow, i still vividly remember squeezing into a converted bedroom in tom's home to film a gameday all those years ago. amazing how far DT has come!
and also wow... that kmart was so sad. i'm genuinely a little depressed since blue-light specials were such a huge party of my childhood in the 70's!
Don't worry, just holiday in Australia or New Zealand as k-mart is still big down here

@@rahdo Haha, I'm not sure I'd fly 19+ hours just to go to a Kmart, but between Australia and New Zealand there are 324 stores at last count.
Kmart is thriving in Australia, where it is much more like a higher-end Target in the US, while the Targets here are pretty sad and skimpy. In fact, Target stores in Australia are being converted into Kmarts. (As an American who moved to Australia 10 years ago, this is all very surreal. Things truly are upside-down!)
We used to have both at various times in Canada, but because we’re where retail goes to die …
It's amazing how far the Dice Tower has come. In 2009 I remember searching for a board game related podcast and one of the few results was two guys in Korea named Tom Vasel and Joe Steadman.
I remember that. Who is this woman though? I haven't watched since they tried to feminise the dice tower and they had to "disappear" the racist one.
Love the new studio! And I really enjoyed the behind-the-scenes look.
Tom buys the best welcome mats. First, the "Definitely not a trap door" one and now a "Welcome-ish" mat.

Really cool to see all the behind the scenes stuff! Would be nice to see more of it and some of the equipment you use for filming (lighting, sound, camera, etc).

It's going to drive me bonkers if I don't ask...where did the hot water heater go? That's not an easy thing to just move. :)

You really need to reach out to consultants for podcasting. The foam isn’t needed 😂. Just get really good mics with a filter over them. You already have carpet, just add some decor and noise won’t bounce around
I have a question wouldn’t have it been easier to just extend on the building you’re at so you don’t have to walk outside to go to the studio and extend the garage so you can move a lot more things in there for storage. Unless there is no area for you to extend onto you are building because you may be too close to property lines, parking and etc. to make a big enough studio.
I love the new studio, but PLS PLS look for acoustics/studio treatment advice from professionals next time.
The sound panel you got is almost just decorations. You need plywood board with fiberglass to build some panels, maybe hanging floors if possible, some board to shape the corners, stuff like that.
It always amazes me how much smaller rooms feel once you add furniture and decor. (The dark walls don't help either)
Looks good. How is the room going to be ventilated? Can imagine a garage getting pretty warm in the summer.

Sketchers. I used to wear Vans, but I needed some shoes that were better for walking for the Essen trip. Now, I’m pretty stuck on these.

They could’ve just taken it out entirely. They don’t really have a need for it at the studio.
It looks like they went tankless, you can see a unit mounted on the wall above where the water heater tank used to be. Appears to be plumbed in.

They didn’t move. This is the garage of their current studio but they didn’t move.
