Some of us are old enough to have actually driven old route 66 through AZ into New Mexico (others maybe farther than that, not me) The cars of the 30s through 40s were not long range comfy road specials and frequent stops were the norm for gas and cool downs. Old highway 90 when it was the primary East West route was similar to Route 66 and driving it from LA to New Orleans was as fun as it can get until it also got bypassed. I now ride my motorcycle along these old time routes and leave the car at home and been doing so since 1999, I stay in hotels along the roads I travel, but use to camp back in the young days of my life.
My wife and I lived in Phoenix for 15 years. We rode the bike to Oatman many times. We have so many great videos of our rides. We GoProed everything. My wife loves donkeys. Super ride. Great town! We would go from there over to Laughlin on the Colorado River. Ride along the River back to Phoenix.
Love ya'll taking us along for the adventures! My family did a motorhome vacation from Alabama to the Grand Canyon and on to Vegas and down to Oatman 2 years ago. Being as I am a country boy who owns burros I was not about to leave Arizona without seeing Oatman and the wild Burros. The sidewinder sure made me wish I had my bike. Wrestling a motorhome around those curves gets tight and you feel the narrow roadways when you meet a 4 wheel vehicle. I was more comfortable driving the Vegas strip in that beast. Being out west for a short time makes you want to hug the trees and roll in the grass when you get home.
Rt. 66 is awesome I was there 12 years ago. It was on my bucket list to ride. I loved it since the show Rt. 66. I felt like a kid in a candy store. Stay safe.
My folks drove the original Route 66 back when they had a new 57 Chevy to San Diego, we live in MI. Left home with $300 and came back with about $100. Gas was around twenty cents a gallon, rooms .50 to a $1.50. Sack lunches and one hot per day. No interstates back then.
Great video! I did the AZ Sidewinder, Oatman, Kingman, Old Rt 66 last year on my cross country trip. Brought back great memories, so much fun! Keep the great videos coming. Ride safe.
Lovely! I don’t know if you know them, the Hairy Bikers did a TV series travelling and cooking along Route 66. It was really interesting, they visited a lot of eateries that had been revived by “journey travel” :)
Hi guys I love ur Blog so interesting & I can’t wait until the next one too see where u both end up soooo Kool 🏍😎👍 That Old town u stopped at Oatman & Route 66 lots of history there & those twistys roads look awesome 😎 Enjoy Miles & Miles of those tight bends & twistys & hold on 🏍🏍 I have to say I love how u explain about the towns u both visits & how much knowledge & info u giving us. Rich and Chris, you continue to the our Sunday night ritual. We love the places you visit and the descriptions you pass along to us as well. We think the donkeys are a kick. Thanks for Sharing!
What a lovely couple 🙏 what a nice journey 👌 My RTW plan, which will start from Turkey next year, includes Route 66 in 2026. I will remember your chat 🤗
Chris and Rich I have been with you from the start. Man you have put your blood , sweat and tears into provide great content. You are both very unique people. ( nice way of saying crazy like a fox) .
Hey…….. I am following you from a distance more than 10,000 miles I liked all your flogs keep it up 👍 also I am rider. I don’t have UA-cam it’s hard work and it takes lot of time thanks 🙏 keep it up 👍
Brilliant video guys, I never been to the States but remember the 60 s shows about route 66 , I would love that sticker Richard. You guys got me hankering for a bike again ( I'm in my 70s).
I loved this ride you took. Route 66 and that old West charm is right up my alley. Thanks for sharing. I really like that relive feature Rick. Very cool.
Well crap...You're right in my backyard. Ride that road all the time. If I were there and not out working I would try and look you up. While there you should ride down Silvercreek from Oatman to Bullhead, then through Laughlin to Christmas Tree Pass.
Rode Topock through the Sitgreaves Pass to Cool Spring Station in January 2019 with an old Go Pro Hero 3 on the front fairing. Just havent edited the video yet!!!
Another good show. Oh my wife and I got are orders in for the tee shirts and a little extra for the worthy cause. Thanks you guys so much. Thanks for sharing too.
Rick, you seem to have had numerous water leaks. I would like to give you some food for thought. No doubt the bulk of the leaks are due to rocks and other debris kicked up on highways and side roads that you have traveled. I thought that if you found some thin aluminum and made a make-shift shield/buffer set about 1 to 2 inches away and around the tank it would give you, hopefully, enough protection to have one less headache to deal with. A very thin material should not add any weight to your trailer. If this is not useful I thought that you would come up with your own idea to eliminate the problem. I hope this helps in some way.
So I've heard of Cow Tipping and now you have done Donkey Dodging Bahahahaha.. awesome video, Also every time see see your panniers i try to see all the stickers.
Love it! Now I need to add route 191 to my list - looks fantastic! Lots of curves and cool, funky sites. I love the 360-degree, really gives a great perspective! What mapping app was it that you used, Rich, to plot the route and add photos? x Nancy
Subject RV holding tanks. Check out RV miles. About Jayco under fire for denying claims on holding tanks. Also check out Jayco Forum. You have got to remember your RVers too. Haha. Good Luck and God Speed. I enjoy learning history lessons. My favorite subject.
Hi, I wrote you a comment when you were selling your tees but I don’t think it reach you. The subject is holding tanks on RVs in transit. The dos and donuts. You will be surprised, as was I. RV miles is the website on U Tube. Subject Jayco under fire for denying claim. Insists you can not safely travel with water in holding tanks. The gentleman keeps a weekly diary on current RV info every Friday. Also check out the Jayco Forum. I owned a 2010 ROO from Forest River, never had a holding tank issue. But looking at the support brackets I would think twice about topping of a tank now. Hope this is not too much information. It’s just one more thing to keep an eye on. Your are in my part of this great country, Southern Nevada. Keep riding, your educating a whole bunch of us. You two are great history teachers, my favorite subject. Good Luck, and God Speed.
Thanks for the kind words. I have watch that about the claim denial. Our was fully covered under the extended warranty all I had to pay was the $50 deductible and shipping, so $212. The tank was never secured in the frame so I think helped the acceptance of this claim.
Driven those routes several times. Loved the journey. These towns are a fairly short drive from our property. Lots of political signs in Oatman. Love it there.
Really like your TV setup 👍 Now that you are not doing long distance, multi day rides, are you considering downsizing the bikes? I went from my GL1800 of 13 years, to a CRF 1000 & love it.
So here is a dumb question. Do you have shock absorbers on your trailer? When off road the trailer can ride much rougher than the truck. Maybe that is what broke the shelf and the water tank. Brian
You two will never know(or maybe you will)how immensely inspiring your vlogs or chronicles are to other adventure riders like myself. Keep up the good work.😎😊😄
Great videos and editing by Richard. Felt like I was right there with you on the rides. Your riding gear is a surprise, looks like you're dressed for cool weather. I thought it would be really hot there. Enjoy traveling along with you two.
Good luck with the trailer. There is reports of camper companies denying repairs of campers who carry water in tanks while traveling. Let’s us know how it goes and do not give up.
Thanks!
Sorry I didn’t take the time to go to Oatman, when I passed thru Kingman 🤢
It’s easy to miss it
Happy Mother's Day Chris!
Thank Karen

This road has so many cool old things.
Not a ride for the faint-hearted. Great job, both of you. Phenomenal riding skills!
The most awesome driving route in Arizona is the sr 191 between Hannigan meadow and Morenci. No vehicles over 26 ft allowed. Great for Summer!
That's for sure!
Love the ending map. Nice job
Route 66 is one of our favorite rides...4 times so far from Chicago to Santa Monica, and hoping for number 5. We always see something new.
Getting those two GS off the truck looks terrifying!
It’s not bad the ramp is 4’ wide and 12’ long. I can ride with both feet down. It’s very stable.
COOL SOUNDTRACK!👍
Thanks James
The Olive Oatman story is a good story. Classic 2 wheels big life
Thanks Barbra
Nice touch with the, Relive map.
Thanks I’ll try to include what we have
That map at the end was really great.
Thanks. If I have a relive map I will do my best to add to the end of the videos.
I just did that ride today, from Lake Havasu thru Oatman then Kingman and back to Vegas. From Kingman to home hit 50 to 60 mph winds. What a ride.
The Big Harley needs to be repaired and brought back miss seeing you ride it.
She’s at @texarkanaharleydavidson in some really good hands. Soon she’ll be back
Yep another great one! I see you have a pet fox that you have to let out when you stop!
I never thought the AZ desert could have so many interesting things to see. You guys are having too much fun, I'm sooo jealous.
Cheers
Super coooooool. Thanks. Blessings
Thanks
Love 66!! If you're coming on down it, be sure to stop at Tucumcari!!

I agreed. I love the map graphics at the end. It really gives you a feel for how much road you 2 travel in a day!
AZ has some beautiful and fun roads for sure.
They sure do. Thanks Edd
Nice. Put that ride on my list of places to go. Thanks.

Awesome thank you.
I like this conclusion at the end a lot!
The Relive its a pretty cool app
Another good show. Oh my wife and I got are orders in for the tee shirts and a little extra for the worthy cause. Thanks you guys so much. Thanks for sharing too.
Missed you by a couple weeks! great episode!
Arizona is such a diverse state to ride in. So pretty ! Thank you!
Dinasaur Caverns on 66 are pretty cool also.

Your best video brilliant
Love the quirky historical stuff you show us! Its all the things I'd want to see if I was doing what you are doing.
Awesome glad you enjoy
Rode that road many times on 2 and 4 wheels. First time was in 1966 on my Triumph Bonneville before the interstate was completed. That was some trip!
Out getting a haircut today and the barber recognized me from my channel so she recommended your adventures. Looks great. Keep up the fun. Subscribed
So I've heard of Cow Tipping and now you have done Donkey Dodging Bahahahaha.. awesome video, Also every time see see your panniers i try to see all the stickers.
You see yours don’t ya.
@@TwoWheelsBigLife that's what I look for but miss it. thought it was on the right side top box. on a corner I think ❤️
Love the ending with the route play for the day ride....excellent. I hope you make this a standard ending to all your vids.
Great video.
Love it! Now I need to add route 191 to my list - looks fantastic! Lots of curves and cool, funky sites. I love the 360-degree, really gives a great perspective! What mapping app was it that you used, Rich, to plot the route and add photos? x Nancy
When you stop at Hackberry did see the yellow tabby cat? He always there when we stop on are rides.
I think we did see that cat. That’s funny
Thanks for another great adventure , you two are making my bucket list Huge 😁
Yah. Relive is kind of cool. Question: Do you take that fox with you everywhere, or does she just follow you around all the time?
Ha. Believe it or not those are different foxes 🦊 we have no pets 🤣🤣
Wow, nice ride! The new map thing at the end is really really cool. Keep doing that. It’s nice to see an overview of where your rides take you.
Love the video !!!!!

My favourite section & places of route 66! (4 years ago). Wonder how busy it will be in 4 years?(100th)
Really like your TV setup 👍 Now that you are not doing long distance, multi day rides, are you considering downsizing the bikes? I went from my GL1800 of 13 years, to a CRF 1000 & love it.
Great riding out there. I plan on doing more riding out West next year if the creek don’t rise!
Do it it’s pretty awesome
Very nice. You're a really good filmmaker. I have to wonder: how many cameras you have? It seems like a lot.
A few. Mainly just move the few around. We have GoPros 5,7 and a 9 and a Insta 360
Oops, not Route 191 - it just has 191 curves! 🤣
So here is a dumb question. Do you have shock absorbers on your trailer? When off road the trailer can ride much rougher than the truck. Maybe that is what broke the shelf and the water tank.
Brian
No shocks but it’s a torsion suspension The tank cracked because it was not secured in the frame. All covered and replaced under warranty.
Another great video. How do find all these great things to explore? Have you already done a video of your trip planning?
You two will never know(or maybe you will)how immensely inspiring your vlogs or chronicles are to other adventure riders like myself. Keep up the good work.😎😊😄
Great videos and editing by Richard. Felt like I was right there with you on the rides. Your riding gear is a surprise, looks like you're dressed for cool weather. I thought it would be really hot there. Enjoy traveling along with you two.
We enjoyed Oatman Az. Your correct the donkeys and roads. Did you spot the armed guards up high around the gold minds?
Good luck with the trailer. There is reports of camper companies denying repairs of campers who carry water in tanks while traveling. Let’s us know how it goes and do not give up.
Completely covered by deer the extended warranty. Had to pay shipping 🤦♂️
