Game 1: draws 17 cards deep and assembles Exodia Game 2: desperation draws for the out to morphing jar and finds it on the last card, followed by hitting a 1/11 shot on that last turn to draw the final piece of Exodia
@@matthewpopow6647 ditto I told my none yugioh player friend She knows abit about the game She laughed out loud 🤣 😂 Most fun with your clothes on definitely yugioh
Cimo's just gonna play f'n Exodia at YCS Pasadena and win the entire event, seriously how does this man have this many protagonist powers?!?! One of these days he's gonna have to go to a hair stylist and get his hair up like Yugi's for an April Fools episode of Jank or something.
I can’t believe Cimo drew the Gemini Imps to out morphing jar for his final draw spell and then proceed to win with the last spell before final countdown resolves, and in the same match too. Truely an anime moment
And it makes the least sense in matchups like this where he gets "talked into" facing off against a deck that has almost literally no wincon against his own deck lol. Being in the Jank Tank for so long has rotted his brain.
That Morphing Jar in game 1 was the real Final Countdown, but little did MBT know that Cimooo had already drawn 4 Exodia pieces by the 2nd turn with 2 drawing powered cards in the chamber ready to fire.
Those duels were crazy! Both of them in their own way really show Cimo's protagonist powers. As for the question at the end of the second duel; you *always* Reckless first. It is much more obvious if you repeat this experiment with 6 cards (with one last piece of Exodia hiding in there), and you have Reckless Greed and Pot of Duality but it applies to any number of deck size, though the difference becomes smaller the more cards you add. If you Reckless Greed first, you get to draw 2 cards and then you see 3 out of 4 remaining cards (giving you a 5 out of 6 chance to find the last piece of Exodia), or ~83%. But if you pot of Duality first, you see 3 out of 6 cards, and then draw 2, which reduces your odds to just over 50% (though I'm bad enough at maths to be unable to figure out the exact number quickly. All I know is that it doesn't come close to 83%, and that's good enough for me. It's a principle similar to the Monty Hall problem, and knowing how to resolve that also helps here.
As someone who played during the time, I actually remember seeing BOTH of these deck profiles. - The final countdown deck I believe was at YCS Long Beach, the 100th YCS. The player was so confident in his deck winning, that the sideboard plan was specifically to be ahead in time in game 2 or 3 if it was taking long. The Exodia deck on the other hand was from an Ex-Yugituber, Prowinston who got top 8 at Worlds, using exodia as an anti insektor list like Joseph mentioned for the FC deck.
I love how jank isn't just about the rickety-bridge deck builds and strategies, but about the silly moments that can happen. Obviously cimo's Exodia wins here were the biggest moments, but we can't forget the ambrosia-level jank of Joseph drawing all 3 copies of Upstart Goblin off of PoD, which SPECIFICALLY screwed his intended Hope for Escape play afterwards.
On the last turn of Final Countdown... "Draw your last pathetic card so I can end this, Alex!" "My jank deck has no pathetic, Joseph! But it does contain...the unstoppable Exodia!" "AHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
He had 18 cards when he fired it, so 1/18 * 1/17 * 1/16 is the odds of drawing the 3 upstarts. Therefore his chances of doing that were 0.02%. or two hundredths of a percent.
@@roblaquiere8220 It doesn't matter which upstart he draws first/second so its more actually 3/18 * 2/17 * 1/16, so more like .12%, still very unlikely.
15:30-16:04 and 25:00-26:15 "EXODIA...OBLITERATE" The Forbidden One has brought Cimo to victory once again. This has now become one of my favourite History of Jank episodes. It was nice to see the legend himself make an appearance once more.
This was a really fun episode. One suggestion I would have is for "one deck" formats that make jank decks like exodia and countdown possible it would be cool to see the jank vs the meta they are countering. Exodia vs inzektor at world's was actually a really interesting match up with unique positions that you wouldn't see in any other duel. Seeing solemn judgment used to negate an upstart goblin because of hope for escape would have been nuts.
Hard drawing the final piece of Exodia at the last possible moment twice in a row is fucking insane. Dude really is Yugi Moto. He should just roll up to the next YCS with some busted ass Exodia deck and trust in his protag powers.
