Nice reaction on a beautiful song. Opeth has got so many different kinds of approaching rock/metal. A nice follow up would be Burden or Porcelain Heart. Those songs are kind of mellow too. They also have lots of much heavier stuff, some with multiple mellow interludes, some heavy from beginning until the end. Cheers.

That was a good gateway track to Opeth, they have quite a big catalogue with very diverse track: they started as a progressive death metal and they transitioned to a progressive rock genre which you can associate this song to. If you wanna get into Opeth rabbit hole pick up any song that isn't in the first 2 records (they were a bit rough on the sound at the time).
It’s why I suggested it, I like to ease people into Opeth. Many fans request BWP and GOP and unless you are a metal vet it is sometimes too much. To be clear I have all their albums and love all their eras.

@@Taunic I love their hardcore stuff, but for people not ready for that it can easily turn them off. But fans don’t care, they only care about someone else hearing a song that they’ve probably played a billion times themselves. That’s another issue. I love BWP, GOP, Harlequin forest, deliverance etc… but Opeth has over 100 songs and each brings something to the table. It’s like living in a pantry and always eating cereal, I don’t care how good that cereal is, can I have a steak, or an orange? That why I recommended this little known song, because literally no one reacted to it and it’s a shame.

Agreed, the first two albums were the only two I haven't been able to get into.
