I merely tried to find the tabs that were the most accurate, and I think everything came out fine (except the little thing at like 00:10, with the transition, which was a video fault). Just enjoy it. Well, first we scoured the earth for inspiration - swimming to the moon, taking a trip to Alaska, hiking through a desert of song, and even visiting a most depressing travelling, silent circus.
Then we realized all we had to do was get naked by the computer and convert the most accurate tabs of the songs into midis, play with them, and finally put it all into a video. Thanks a lot man!
Im listening to this sitting naked by the computer thinking about all the primer im going to need for these white walls, the need for repetition and laser speed it will require to not have lost perfection and reach my aspirations. Too bad I forgot I was wearing my croakies and boat shoes now their aesthetic is ruined. 😑

I wish they would post this again with the highest guitar track turned up. For example in Decade of Statues it's barely audible at all, I only notice what it's doing because I'm familiar with the source material. That said, this is a masterpiece!

+Question everything. grab a guitar pro file of a song, convert it to midi and run it thru GXSCC. that's how all of these "8 bit" metal songs are done. still sounds cool, but they're not doing anything you or I can't do in 2 minutes.
***** I'm glad you barely mentioned that it still sounds cool; otherwise, you'd come across as completely demeaning. No one asked how this was done; there was only praise for his work. He definitely deserves thanks for doing the work and uploading it, as opposed to having his work degraded by someone who thinks they know sooo much that they have to ruin the fun and excitement of others. ;-)

Obviously the original is more enjoyable to listen to, but I think this really allows you to think carefully about how the song-writing, structure and interesting harmonies come together so beautifully on this album.

By the way, amazing job on these. My one recommendation would be to maybe make the vocals a little louder on some sections, since they are occasionally drowned out. But amazing job nonetheless :)

Ok I love it. Only complaint is the lead parts need some sound boosting when you have the other guitar playing mad chords. Couldn’t hear some of the best fill solos cuz of the loudness of the power chords on the other guitar track

No, not the actual file, haha. I wish. We need guitarpro tabs of the song (which has the instruments tabbed out). When we convert the tab to a midi file, the computer is able to take the notes and transfer it to computer sounds, hence, "8 bit".

Pretty easy to to do one of these thanks to GXSCC but still pretty cool to listen to even though the tab you used used is not the best. Did you use the one that has every song on one tab or did you mix match them?

To be honest, I find this more enjoyable than the original as well. Not only because you can take everything in better (what with it's 8 bit nature), but also because I've never really liked Tommy's vocals (however blasphemous that is to say).
And I'm sure about that, haha. As soon as I get better at guitar, I'm using 8 bit/midis to help me learn songs, haha. Thanks dude. :)

Go check out Rings of Saturn. The guitar player Lucas Mann does some Mega Man "metal" that is really on point!

im a metal musician,i much rather listen to this .if you want to be technical.the original is not even "metal"..and its just bad imo. hardly listenable especially.compared this masterpeice

green robot It's called singing. Not all music is about screaming. The fact that Tommy Rogers is able to transition so flawlessly between both styles is a testament to his ability. I'm really doubting your "metal musician" title now. If you can't appreciate a band such as this one, then I don't know what to tell you.
like i said theyre talented i just think theyd sound better if they shut up and played their instruments i like instrumental stuff like animals as leaders...just my opinion didnt mean to rustle your jimmies

Jgallstar1 you can use mp3 UA-cam downloader its a free service online there like 3 or 4 pages that do the same and all are free,just copy the URL and paste in those web sites and you will have your mp3
when are we getting this in Super Mario 64 font?
Probably pretty soon actually. I’d be surprised if nobody does this within the next year, especially since there’s one guy (Ben Henry) who seems to focus on whole prog albums and who’s been extremely active recently
