Where did Talent like this go. I don't even turn on the radio anymore. Just CRAP. L@@K Ma, No Strobes, No autotune, No flashing light, Just PURE Talent. May GOD Bless, >
I so love the way country music isn't so much a genre, but a community, going to a show is like visiting old friends. Wish we had something like it here in England, but over here country fans are laughed at.
Much as I enjoyed this performance it's one of my favourite songs done by Elvis...he had a voice and style that could do it justice, using his great phrasing to make a classic out of it.
Always liked kayton. Great steel player. Marty is so great. Marty is a true lover of real country music. Marty plays this very much in the Hank Snow style. Hank was one of my all-time favorites; a very talented and underrated guitar player.
A non-pedal steel guitar can seem more "limited" than the pedal variety, but a talent like Kayton Roberts finds a way to make the absolute most out of the instrument. Of course Marty Stuart's acoustic guitar work is brilliant, and the Fabulous Superlatives are always just what their name implies. An absolutely wonderful performance all the way 'round!
A loss to the steel guitar and many who loved his music. I was unawhere Kayton passed away July 13,2017 My visits with him and Iva Lee will always be remembered.
Wonderful rendition. I love the greats from back when country was country. Marty is a hero of mine for keeping the greats with us by their music. You can tell Marty is living his dream on his show by having those still with us appear, and those gone home by playing their songs.
What a wonderful rendition. As powerful as the lyrics are, this great instrumental seems even more moving and powerful. You know it's good when you listen over and over, and still feel it inside each time. Wow......
Kayton Roberts sometimes comes to the Hank Snow Tribute held in Bridgewater or SW Nova each summer. Thanks for sharin a nice piece of music by two great pickers.
Watching Marty in this clip its hard not to notice the grey in his hair. I remember watching him when he first started and that hair was jet, jet black. Where have all the years gone?
I was at the funeral home in Madison Tn the morning after Hanks Death in '99. Marty was there. One of Hank's guitars was open beneath hanks coffin. I talked with Jimmy Snow and Hanks 2 granddaughters for awhile. I noticed that Marty was closing the big Martin guitar. I went over and said "hi" to Marty. He said "hi" and picked up the guitar and left the funeral home. The next day or so at the Memorial at Opryland Marty appeared on stage with the same guitar. He said that that guitar was the only other thing that ever was allowed to spend the night in his and Connie's (Smith) bedroom. Katon was there on steel, Connie with Marty, on Hank's guitar. Before he started playing Marty said in a near perfect Canadian accent, "One of the last things Hank said to me was: Marty you really need to practice the guitar more". This song, Marty did a fine job on the guitar. Hank would have approved I believe.

Marty is hands down one of the best musicians on the planet. And his style and arrangements and song selections are awesome.
Thank you Marty for honoring all the greats of yesterday, and for helping to keep real country music alive and well.
I love Marty. He pays homage to the greats of the past and breaks ground for the greats of the future. Thank you, Marty.

Real country music as opposed to what's called country music today, which is CMINO, Country Music In Name Only.
