This was the first time I watched one of your videos. I couldn't believe how real it looked. Between this and the peanut butter hershey kiss cookie, you had me hooked. I had just watched the worst fake bake lemon pie video. It was so bad I almost quit with this new hobby. But yours was the total opposite. Others would paint the clay to make the lemon and it was dull and fake looking. It was the first time I had seen anyone use silicone. It scared me at first. But I have watched enough videos to see its not that hard. I'm no longer intimidated. Love the painted peaks. It added that extra touch. Keep up the videos and I'll keep watching. Can't wait to get started.

Hi, I was wondering if the ink coloring you added to the caulk the same as you would use for resin crafts? I love the pie
Yes, it's alcohol ink and used for resin also.

Love this, quick question though how do you preserve this, do you use a form of matt glaze? Thank you for your videos, so inspiring.
I don't use anything to preserve it. The silicone won't really let anything attach to it like a topcoat.

You won't get that sort of see through color with paint. It will be totally solid and not realistic. Food coloring will work.

Does the spackle crack over time? Is it good to coat it with modge podge?
I've never had it crack. If you coat it with Mod Podge it will be glossy and less realistic looking on the spackling. Mod Podge will not stick to silicone long term.
I want to make a cherry pie because I have an old school cherry pie filling can that I want to put a cherry pie on top of it!

Are you putting topping on while the yellow mixture is not dry yet?
I did but you can wait until it's dry if it's easier for you.
Can I use dapp spackle instead of silicone?
It won't look realistic. The silicone has that sort of see through look like real lemon pie filling. If you don't mind that it's not realistic, I don't see why you couldn't.
