I used to LOVE this as a child! This was so funny! Loved it when Madge visited the contestants houses! Lol so funny when the contestants realised the house was theirs in the show!
20yrs later, and the opening 'Shrub reference still stands up :) God, Dame Edna & Barry will be sorely missed - those heels are going to be hard to fill.
I love that "husband #2" was actually Barry Humphries. The contestant was so cute. I loved when Dame Edna asked which was her actual husband & she said "none, not after tonight." Such a fun episode!
I didn't even notice it was Barry in # 2. Thanks for pointing that out! I wondered if Margaret was a bit hesitant when her husband hugged her there. She called him a rat bag when he came out.
What A LUCKY human being!!!!!!!!!!! He was loved, he was allowed to be him and he is DEFINITELY Edna without having to pretend! He's quite her !!! AND he's been able to enjoy it, too! TOO LUCKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember this show on one episode they went upstairs and there was a potty with a turd in it, Dame Edna pulled her funny face and there was uproar in the audience.
I was introduced to Dame E in Australia in 1981 when my hosts showed me her “coffee table book”. On the last day of my visit I cooked supper and served, with great flourish, a dip from the book that consisted of a can of smoked oysters mixed with a can of condensed milk. Ugh. I think I told them it was “my grandmother’s secret recipe” or something like that. Everybody raved about the dip and pressed me for the recipe until I made the fatal mistake of telling them the truth. They did not think it was a bit funny, but if Barry’s up in heaven reading UA-cam comments I’m sure he’s having a good laugh.
immaculateboy Yeah, me too. I love how FREAKY it is.. a gigantic scary-looking man-woman thing stomping through a pretty little village. And then shoving her face through people's roofs! Terrifying! 😂
4 dislikes?! I’d hate to meet those obviously miserable people. Non entities... Also, at 7:56 it sounds like someone whispers, “an Eskimo.” Right before Sally says it.

10 dislikes ? Those 10 have no taste for Dame Edna . They should be the scorn of Edna .
06.41... Madge's Greatest Moments
DAME EDNA WOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER BRIDE FOR CHARLES
An epidural in case a push comes to a shove.
Oh Edna!
yes! thank you! any more of these?
This is an October 1992 episode of the short-lived British TV comic show "Dame Edna's Neighborhood Watch" (it already ended on ITV). 🇬🇧 🇬🇧

Probably saw swastica and thus: antisemite without a question,
The show would be shut down today because of the swastika on the guy's forehead specially for a British audience.
Humor is meant to push buttons and cross boundaries. Censorship is far more dangerous than risky comedy. We must never forget that.
Ha ! 32 likes VS 1 unfortunate person who clearly ended up with a box of Black Magic minus all the soft centres....shame lol
Born in Manchester UK has Aussie accent
If they had this in America, they'd get shot when they were half way up the drive
So funny
When he does the sick noise tho…
Was this really from 1992? How on the ball.
Was this a pilot? Don’t remember it
I don't remember this one
If you could text Edna, whats 1 question you'd ask her?
Why are you always so vicious to your old bridesmaid and constant travelling companion, Mrs Madge Alsop?
haha this show is fantastic because of edna - anyone else hosting this and it would be fucking awful tbh lol
A young Eddie Marsan as the punk?
a show without men
(sorry 1 man)
how abt the reverse
Mock
Did The boy in the house have a hitler image on his forehead ?
Yes. The nazi symbol. Would been impossible today
