- Today we have a very rare 1962 MGA MK2 Coupe in the shop that just happens to be one of the poster cars from the 1992 Arthritis Foundation Car Show in Dublin, Ohio. This car is 1 of 26 coupes that were imported to the US that year. We talk a bit about its history and then go on to discuss the reason it has come to us- the loss of quite a bit of oil in a short time on a drive back from a car show, and to look at a running issue that could potentially be more than just a simple tuning problem.
That is one beautiful car!
Always an outstanding video and presentation.
I would reolace the oil pressure hose also. Just to be safe. I have had both go bad at the same time.
I was looking at that hose and thinking the same thing
The 58 MGA coupe I had was terrible on cold mornings , absolutely would not start . I replaced the pull starter with a Ford solenoid and a push button for a 53 Plymouth I got from Sears and it would start in any weather after that.
My first car was a 58 MGA coupe, 2nd car was a 65 MGB roadster. I miss them both.
My first car was a 1965 MGB. Nearly 55 years and 250,000 miles later, I still have it!
15 years ago it was joined by a 1962 MGA Mk II
If you want something really rare, you want an MGA Twin-Cam Coupe.
Or better yet a Jaguar xk 150 roadster . Mg was cool but nothing close to the true British sports car Jaguar. Qucker better handling n overall much more satisfying driving experience 😊
Not everyone has a Jaguar budget to work with. Dollar for dollar the MGA still represents a pretty good value (even with the recent rise in prices) with a pretty satisfying driving experience in its own right at a cost that more people can afford.
@@mgbgtguy yes good point jag much better car though
Wait- what? An English car losing oil? Say it ain't so!
Yes,really!😁
There’s acceptable oil loss, and then there’s this. Usually when a customer tells me they have an oil leak, I just say “yeah, of course you do..unless it’s bad enough there’s no use trying to do much about it “ 😂
