@@taylrgng I got you, I have a friend who is also like that, my party is very diverse the only thing about control is that I don't feel that the aim is responsive enough in terms of speed. But definitely, it beats on comfort and flexibility, I mean you can play from the couch.

I just like controller for movement and all the buttons I need being right there, especially since I play with paddles and all my fingers. even on my mouse I have a razer with like 11 buttons on the side 😂
in terms of accuracy m&k is king, but then again I play console with aim assist turned off, it can get in the way a lot of the time

I fully endorse games taking the idea's we as gamers love, removing the annoying shit and putting them in their own game 100%. I fail to see why most people think this is bad it makes no sense.

Yeah its so dumb. Does the game story sucks? Is it sometimes buggy? Is it a copy of other looter shooters? Yes yes yes. But so is Destiny 2 and Warframe, and IGN reviewed them better. Its just dumb.

nah the story did have some amazing moments.. Like the scene when executor its cut in half or when the blondy annoying guy die..
Honestly a lot of the later cutscenes were cooking. Especially after the agna desert iron heart cutscene

The thing is, you don't have to play the game at full speed or full commitment. Honestly, I see less fulltime gamers and most people casually game on and off, often with families, healthier IRL relationships and jobs/duties to fulfill. These are also the people that can afford the microtransactions. The grindiness and the timers actually tells me that Nexon is saying "You're not a kid anymore, you're an adult now, so pace yourself and don't burn yourself out. Get out, talk to your family, don't go to bed too late you got work tomorrow. See you on the weekend." I'm cool with that.
The Participation Trophy generation is real, they're just adults in the work force now and still expect to be handed things.
Agreed I only get to play TFD for about 1 or 2 hours a day then that's it. Farmed sharen, Freya, Valby, and Blair. Working on getting Enzo. It's like when I was playing monster hunter with that time limit 2-3 quests a day and got to endgame. People really do gotta go fast😂.

I spent $100, I played 146hrs. I say the game did something right.
Also is it me or I totally expected ultimates to take 3 months, I see people achieving results in 3 days of focused grind. Damn.

Descendants slots are also locked behind a pay wall, which kinda sucks. But I haven’t reached that part yet

I don’t trust any Legacy Media anymore. They are driven by money. I look for reputable individuals that review games. The game is a 7/10 for me. Pushing 8/10.
The grind kinda sucks but I don't know why everyone expects to have everything unlocked in the game in one week.

Elly...nobody take IGN (minus Destin), Kotaku, etc serious. They would give a horrible game like suicide squad a high score and a free game with fan service and lets you either farm for your stuff and descendants or buy them a low score
That’s because TFD didn’t send them money so they gonna shit on them. Where as those other games paid them generously and they rub their hands with greed and write high scores review for them. It’s just pure corruption at its finest.
ngl ultimate Bunny lured me in 😅 then I got DPS checked by Devourer now here I am 20hrs+ figuring out how the game mechanics actually work

I believe that the issue here on the all the complaints on drop rates is due do you getting to see all of the possible items that can drop for each event or activity. There is also some hidden drops that happend with the mobs that you can not see but for the most part you can see them. All other Looter shooters do not give you a drop rate ever it may tell you you can get certain items from certain activities but never a drops rates. My guess the drop rates are there since Nexon was convicted of deceptive practices by the Koren Gov and charged millions of dallers. This allows some transparance which is not normal for NA games or game companies and something we are not use to seeing.

holup this guy plays destiny regularly and he complaining about the drop rates here O_O? You can pretty much get everything you want within a week (6 days for ult gley) meanwhile on destiny you are time gated for drops especially in dungeon and raids. Like what the....
I like this game but I have some issues with it that are the enemies come at you like a swarm to kill you that makes me quite annoyed and sometimes those amounts of enemies just makes my game crash in multiple ways or make me lag in the game but I hope they make a limit on the enemies attacking you in the game also the server I'm playing at on my PS4 slim needs a bit improvement on being able to handle the enemies level of spawns that are made in it

Ive grinded 9 descendants and 2 ultimates. Plus 3 energy converters and a dozen catalysts. Its good if that's what you like. Switch ur brain off fun.
Shaky start? Player count shows that it is not.They also released a statement, and there is alot to come for this game. It is really free to play for the whole game. No need for buying stuff if you grind.
This is a looter shooter, so grinding is the biggest part of these games.
One thing that I love is the glossary. That tells you exactly where a material is. I play this game to gather them all.
Materials is quite generous.
Destiny for example that is p2w. Buy expansion and then buy dungeons keys to be able to play the expansion.

What's genuinely annoying, is people who say "cooked", "let them cook", "cooking", etc... It's cancerous.

TFD is just like the other big looter shooter live service games that release month one were: Week one server issues, way under cooked, overhyped, buggy, sound design is bad, super grindy, exploiting missions to ease grind, story that is passible but forgettable. All these games have the same issues on launch. Just the ones that fix these issues are the ones who survive.
XD lepic is nice vs the boss balls. One ult from lepic wipe the balls and does dmg to boss.
Viessa's blizzard does that pretty well too. You can also use gl.
And I'm sure there's a lot of ways to deal with them that idk yet

Saying that no game has a good story and that stories don't matter, and that if you wanted to read a story you would read a book or watch a movie, is a very outdated mindset. I'm not trying to tell anyone how to play, but I learned English because I wanted to understand the game's story, the characters, and what was happening. This shows how important game stories can be. Anyway, great video as always.
Mate, name a lootershooter with a good story except borderlands 2.
Destiny has like 4 good cut scenes every 3 years, I've literally never seen anyone talk about warframe's story, the division is nonsense, anthem was generic slop, borderland 3 story was so bad it almost killed the franchise, etc...
This isn't Sony's movie game with occasional gameplay number 345. It's a gameplay focused game and the devs have way better things to do rather than wasting time on a story most players skip anyways

1. My comment was not to say that developers should pay more attention to the game's story than to gameplay.
2. She mentioned game stories in general, not just focused on looter shooters.
3. If most people skip the game's story as you mentioned, does that not mean the game has room for improvement? If the game is a 10/10 in gameplay, it could be enhanced with a good story and become an 11/10, it could have an incredible soundtrack and become a GOTY, and so on.

1: studios and devs have limited budget and time. Investment made into a better story actively takes away from Investment that could have been made into gameplay. (And yes, I know devs don't write story script. But every $ spent on hiring more and better writers is a $ that could have been spent hiring more and better dev).
2: if so my bad I guess. I thought we were specifically talking about looters. But to be fair my point applies to every game except a handful that specifically market themselves as being story first (think Kojima for example).
3: see point one. Why prioritize what a small minority of players care about at the expense of what basically every player cares about. Also, GOTY (and pretty much every other similar awards across any medium) is mostly irrelevant. It's literally just Jeff keele saying, "Hey I like your game" and by the time a game earns goty the overwhelming majority of its sales are already made. Not to mention that there's only two way to get a goty. Either you dominate the conversation that year so hard that Jeff has no choice but to give it to you, lest he destroys his shows reputation (think eldenring, which didnt have a particularlygood story btw) or you make a mediocre award bait game to please critics in spite of players (think tlou2)

Games with good story, Nier, Mass effect 1 and 2, Assassin's Creed 1 to 4, Persona 5, Metal Gear Solid games. Now if you meant no mmo game has a good story, then that is true
The only one I can think of is borderlands 2. And even then it's not that the story was all that good, it's just that handsome Jack carried it

TFD is fun but falls short of being great. I do like it, but it doesn't quite scratch the itch that Destiny used too. I do mean used to, Destiny has become a joke. I like all the characters in TFD more than most other games. It just falls a tad short. Maybe in a year it'll have all I personally need to call it great.

Hi elly just found out on new updates a new decendant being added soon called Glitch she is another elite assassin I bealive this could be another stealth character like sharron however Glitch is an elite sniper expert so far I've descoverd she has red hair weiring a long dust cover hooded coat holding a sniper rifle. It would be nice to have more than one stealth character in the game for the outpost sections
Very nice video, it's nice to see someone trying be objective about a review which is not nice about a game you like. Respect your opinion about grind in the game is part of it, but saying videogames don't have good stories is just plain wrong and makes you sound like ign itself. Still much love elli❤

I literally got Bunny in my first 5-6 hours of playing. Materials are in the questline and I guess I got enough money just "grinding".

I managed to get ult bunny, ult gley (shes being researched rn) 4 energy activators, and roughly 18 crystallization catalysts with 7 days played. It really isn't too bad. Completely f2p

Fun free to play looter shooter. Players that want to spend money pay the way for everyone else. Just curious how they will handle any dlc in the future.

It's more like the mechanics in Monster Hunter are more foreign to most people.
In TFD, when you first get into the game and maybe you pick Lepic, the shooting mechanic is already familiar to you, right click to aim and left click to shoot, Lepic's grenade is also familiar, throw the thing and it explode, same with many other stuff, so you don't even have to think to play the game.
But Monster Hunter, you might not be familiar with its system because it's a niche game or used to be, so you have to constantly think about it and it takes up mental stack.
@hentacletentai2160 100% but I still had to take a small amount of time to understand some little nuances. I was more stating that it's a lot when you start anyway so I don't disagree one bit.
In defense of the missions, in the end the ultimate goal of the game is to be grindable. If the mission is a long set piece with multiple time consuming objectives, that would be dumb. So some are understandable but others are fucking bullshit. I'm looking at you drone escort mission. But the other stuff? I'm fine with. Deposits, collectible, kill and destroy objectives. All of them are fine so far into the game.
edit: especially the one in white night gulch, that drone got me fked up. I still remember trying to do it solo since no one was in vacinity and i still didnt understand the hp/def/shield stats with how they work with the mods and equipments.
Well even with his ridiculous review the game still sits at 175,000 players actively and one person already spent 200 hours unlocking every single descendant you can get in the game.
The game has fantastic animations, combat, graphics, the game is amazing in my opinion

theres not alot of customization and its kinda confusing at first but this game is fun i dont care about the repetitiveness i like it Its my first game that I've played like this, well i tried destiny but i didn't like it and for the voice lines or whatever its better to watch it/hear it in Korean its original language and the bosses are whatever I'd say up until half way through the story is when it gets annoying
This dosn't even compare to warframes drop rates they are so much better than First descendants but for me thats part of the fun till I get bored and stop playing. Had to edit the drop rates are abyssmal compared to other games but at least they don't have loot boxes so there are better chances of you getting stuff but it is what it is work for what you want.

A lot of people don’t know what a good game is. There is no consistency with peoples opinions at all. Which is completely fine, but then reviews just become meaningless. I don’t think this game is excellent but def in the 7.5-8 range. So many added points for being one of the few devs who act on constructive criticism. Everything is earn-able, it’s a little clunky, but all in all fun to play. Clearly all things you can tell from the countless hours people have put in. I played Destiny 1 day 1. Same energy is not being kept

The typical “I’m using an essay review format, bashes it at the starts and then says that it has some positives just for the sake of it, definitely pissed off by the games existence XD
I watched this review, and yeah, he does make some good points but there are times he flat out lies about the game. As far as the story, a lot of people say it's bad, but it's like they never bothered to watch the story of any other game in this genre. They are all bad. This story isn't any worse that Destiny or Warframe or Genshin and all its clones. "Humanity hangs in the balance, it's up to you to save us all." There's only so many places you can go with that story. Look at the movies and tv shows, there are mostly rehashed ideas that someone else had in the 70's or earlier.
And then they gave almost every COD games 7+ scores. It's pathetic how obvious they are paid up for reviews.

For most characters it's range from good enough to great.
Only character that made me cringe sometimes was Jeremy, but that was on purpose and tbh he made me chuckle occasionally
