CRASH > MOUNT > GLIDE > JELLY. I usually avoid trying J because I believe J is the least commonly used letter, but BELLY sounded like a past answer so I tried jelly first.
I tried not to over think this, and I've lost the fear of losing my streak (it's strangely liberating), so got an all green 5: PARTY NOISY FULLY BELLY JELLY
SPARE -> BLEND -> EXTOL -> GUILE -> JELLY ...obviously guile was a mistake & couldn't have been it, I forgot I'd ruled out "e" with my first guess, but it did rule out everything else, so it was useful!
CRASH -> NIFTY -> BUMPY -> GODLY -> JELLY After NIFTY, I thought it very likely to have a double L, so I tried to cram as many other consonants in before then. It paid off.
At only 36:00 seconds, Mark, after your third guess you said, "Jelly" or "Belly", and then paused to give it some serious thought. 😁 I, on the other hand, charged ahead (as usual), at virtually the same point (guess three), never having even considered, "Leggy" or "Beefy", and here's my result, fwiw: A L I E N N O B L E Q U E L L B E L L Y J E L L Y I did come up with, "Seemy" as well, however. But only while I was watching this vid! 😜
Ha ha, got it in four, and pretty fast. Partly because could take the time to check that BELLY had already been a solution, and my third guess precluded TELLY: AROSE EQUIP TWEET JELLY
I use “rinse” “octal” and “dumpy” as my lead in words every day. Got them from a marathon video Simon put out a while back. They work very well most of the time. All vowels and no repeat letters. Then again, I don’t do hard mode.
According to the analyser, the only available words with 3 new letters after DECOY are BEEFY/FEELY/SEELY/SELFY/FEYLY/JEELY/MESHY/SELKY/SESEY/YEUKY. Lots of really obsolete/obscure words, funnily enough SELFY and MESHY would have been accepted tries, eventhough Mark decided to discard them.
Love it when Mark gets Wordle in a minute, not in a minute.
Good thing you didn't think of messy. That could've made it all a lot messier.
Good thing*
Yeah I thought the same haha.
@@DeJayHank ditto
That was my guess.

Telly and Welly are Britishisms. They might be accepted as guesses, but would not be solution words in the American English used by Wordle.

This is incorrect as the word belay is impossible after ‘party’
Geeky can't be the answer after Beefy tho, because E can't be third
Yes, Meshy must be right after all. Thanks to both of you.
Why is Welly not an option?
@@thomaschezzy3308 Americans call wellies "galoshes". Wordle will let you enter WELLY, but it will probably never be an answer word.
Good work, Mark! Phew! I got an astonishing two today with ANGLE > JELLY!
Got this one in two. GRAPE, then JELLY. I was so proud, and then lost my streak this morning again 🤦♂
So much for trying building up a reasonable streak, I failed this because I went for WELLY and BELLY without even thinking of JELLY. :-/
Also Telly, but I did get it in six. (I'm surprised our British friends, including Mark, didn't think of that.)
@@TinkerTailor4303 He'd already ruled out the T in the first guess, so maybe even if he thought of it there wasn't much point saying it out loud.

Veiny jelly sounds lovely
TRAIN-CHOSE-JELLY for me. I got very lucky.
This one did for me, mostly from just not paying attention. Gutted.
BELLY as a 4th guess would have been good because it would provide information for BEEFY, LEGGY, and JELLY.
With hindsight, BELLY would have signalled BEEFY, JELLY and LEGGY (I didn’t see MESSY either).
Good point!
It's uncanny how often Mark tries to talk himself out of the correct answer! Can't you hear all of us yelling at you, Mark?!😅
Well saved!
I tried not to over think this, and I've lost the fear of losing my streak (it's strangely liberating), so got an all green 5:

It took me six attempts too.
Space - Tower - Denim - Geeky - Belly - Jelly
Stare > Lined > Cello > Jelly
I was very lucky with my choices there. I'm specially glad I went with Cello even though it has a double letter.
Don't forget about MESSY
That's what I was thinking too.
Word puzzles do weird things to your brain, in no other context would someone think of MESHY multiple times without the thought MESSY even occuring 😂
PARTY-SLIMY-BELLY-JELLY. Next up, we’re going to have a ROUGH Quest (1996) as our starting word.
CRASH -> NIFTY -> BUMPY -> GODLY -> JELLY
After NIFTY, I thought it very likely to have a double L, so I tried to cram as many other consonants in before then. It paid off.
PARTY->SOULY->JELLY. Got through relatively lightly, it seems
Nice. This took me all six too
I got it in 6 too Mark, tricky one I thought
I kept wanting him to put in selfy. 😂
Same hard mode pattern for me, ended up getting it in 5.

J E L L Y
I did come up with, "Seemy" as well, however.

Got it in 4
Snowy -> Privy -> Delay -> Jelly
I never put Y last on my first guess on hard mode for this reason.
MESSY was also a possibility…
It's raining outside where's my other WELLY?
I had been watching too much Letterkenny so i tried Celly before Jelly
probably good You didn't see messy ;)
Forgot to record my guesses but I did eventually get it. Think it was a 5 or a 6.
I also got 6 guesses yesterday
DC CHARACTERS ALPHABETICALLY DAY 48

I didn't it was that bad. Steam>Probe>Filed>Jelly
Ha ha, got it in four, and pretty fast. Partly because could take the time to check that BELLY had already been a solution, and my third guess precluded TELLY:
AROSE
EQUIP
TWEET
JELLY
It could have been "Messy"?
Didn't think of Messy?
Usually when Mark takes this long, it was on a hard word. But jelly wasn't all that hard was it?
I think he thought it had been used before.
MESSY!
"Wordle ten an hour"
If he had followed the, "If you think of a word, put it in" rule, he would have finished in 4 and in under a minute.

I use that same approach. I lost my streak today trying belly and kelly
@ sorry.
JOLLY was the answer on 4/21/2024.
I'm very glad you didn't think of MESSY, I got this in 4 after trying SPELL, lucky me!
Congratulations, Mark, and thanks for the video!! Phew!! 👏👏👏
