- Bioware has slowly changed the fan loved RPG known as Dragon Age over the years into something completely different than the first title in the series called Origins.
Here is my thoughts and impressions regarding the franchise and if it's worth your time as a Dragon Age: Origins fan.

Honestly, the thing that pisses me off the most is not even uglification of the characters, but the fact that all the stories these people are willing to write are the safest, most boring stuff ever. I to this day remember how Stan from Origins told my female warden to stop pretending to be a man with all the fighting and start doing what women stereotypically do, like raising kids, take care of their home ect. I was mad at him for saying that, but it gave him so much character. And now, bro, there is zero chance modern writers would do something like that, zero
Aldo establishing Sten as the sole representative of a fictional, sexist, hyper-religious band of cult conquerors with him being one of the more decent ones allowed the Qunari to be used as a credible threat in the second game with their occupation of Kirkwall. Sten was a great setup to a threat while also showing the odd intricacies of his honor culture. You can even win him over to the point that he admits he'll have to submit to re-education when he returns. Which considering how dark the game is, can be considered a victory.
Also if u start as city elf, u can sold your female cousin for a night of "Freaks off" with a noble and his henchmens for a bag of gold

I replayed Metal Gear Solid 4 recently, and looking at the Beauty & Beast squad and how perfectly they captured all of their faces and emotions was a breath of fresh air. If only they had the tech to make women beautiful, like they did in 2008 on the PS3. The only reason they don't is because they actively choose not to.

It is a shame about Morrigan. Back when we were allowed sex symbols in games, she stood out because she was more than just a pretty face. She was insighful and intelligent for a "wildling girl." She gives players perspective on a lot of the choices we make through Origins that some may not understand because not everyone is lore savy. She dumbs things down for the player, making her feel a bit more engaging. And that's why the freaks hate her. She was designed to be the big titty goth girlfriend we all need before we even knew we needed it.
It's not the same character. Buncha weirdos ruining characters. :/
She's neither always wrong nor always right as well, which made it better. Throwing her own logic in her face even made her get mad - but in the kid having a tantrum way that causes her to minimally disapprove.

I absolutely love that you're doing the deep dive on the people involved and even pointing out the people not involved - crossing off the names of the old credits. It's a real good way to show why these games are dead while not just having a video of pointing and laughing at the corpse.
The fact that almost all of the developers on the older games at Bioware left is pretty comical.

2:20 She doesn't even walk like someone with a unanimated prosthetic foot. I don't think the devs know how important is that the foot is flexible and adaptable. There's a reason why spring foot prosthetics are a thing.

I've been a fan of the franchise... even Inquisition I thought was brilliant and loved the story of Solas, him being one of the best antoginists in the entire Dragon Age saga... So I waited... 10 years... FINALLY WE GET DREADWOLF Announcement... 10 months later its Veilgaurd. A few weeks after that, its FAILGAURD.
I've noticed the trend in westernised political messaging, but WHY did they have to do it to my favourite franchise?!

Decisions made from the previous games won't matter, the game won't have a dragon age Keep,you can't control companions,they changed the gameplay,the game won't have evil choices and you can't be an anti hero. They literally took out the things that made Dragon Age, Dragon Age.

Turns out Patrick Weekes took over lead writer in 2015 after 2014's Inquisition. Of course hes had his mitts in multiple bioware characters before hand. But Veilgaurd will be the first Dragon Age hes been a lead writer of (not including Inquisition DLC)

It is real shame on DA:Veilguard. My favorite character I came up with from DA: Origins was "Garth Garbage the Dual Wielding Garbage Warrior", (low born dwarf origin). I`ve played him in DA: Awakening, all that sweet DA: Origins DLC (Golems of Amgarrak fugging rocks), DA: Inquisition and D&D campaigns. RIP Dragon Age (another one bites the dust)

If you like old school rpg vee, keep a tab on a game called The Wayward Realms, it is a new ip created by creator of Elder Scrolls battle arena and Daggerfall. Some fans of elder scrolls have high hope that it would be a good successor to pre-todd era
That's why I'm not disappointed or sad, we were never going to have the Dragon Age we wanted anyway.
I keep telling people that Bioware is not the same. The people that made that company great are no longer there. They left or were pushed out. We are simply left with a husk. It's time to let them go and we just play their old games. I hope after this EA finally shuts them down.

As someone who has Dragon age Origin as his favorite fantasy RPG, at least I got Baldur's Gate 3, witch is 1000x more of a sequel to dragon age origins than this shit will ever be.

The memories of good times will never be tainted, but the continuation of those memories is impossible now that it is all being destroyed. The earliest bioware games were actually from the remnants of Black Isle Studio. This is why New Vegas tied more into Fallout 1 and 2 then 3 ever did. Most of those people left after only a few years
