I grew up 143 Sears Street and it's such a tragedy to see what happened to the east side I left there in 1970 after the service I attended Corpus Christi School graduated in 1961

143 Sears is a vacant lot. The unintended consequences of the LBJ Great Society Programs that continue to create government dependency and misery.

At 2007 it was still a home but for demolished. Could you describe your childhood there? Is it nice neighborhood? Is it safe? Or not

I was born in 1948 and growing up on the Eastside of Buffalo at that time was idyllic. The Central Terminal was an active Hub of Transportation. Corpus Christi Church had a very Vibrant Community of Catholics. Corpus Christi School was right across the street from me and everybody on the street was called Uncle or Auntie even though they were not related by blood at this point in time I would not consider the area safe but that is only for what I see on UA-cam

Where are the vintage photos from? I'm editing a documentary on contemporary Polish immigrants to Buffalo and would love to use some of these vintage photos in it.

I recognize what's left of Peewee's Brown Derby at 1325 Broadway. He was in my Dad's wedding party.

I was born in Buffalo on 10/17/1953 at Children’s Hospital. My late mother was a Class of 1950 graduate of Grover Cleveland High School. My late father worked for American Machinery & Foundry when I was born. Seeing those historical photos of Buffalos’ Polonia Section and how that neighborhood has slid downhill, but also part were preserved also. I lived the first 9 years of my life in the Buffalo area at 251 Hutchinson Street near Bailey & Kensington. I lived in the Sheridan Parkside section of the Town of Tonawanda, the City of Tonawanda & Kenmore. I miss the Kaufman’s Rye bread very much, I wished they sold it in the damned Loser City Tucson area. The closest to Kaufman’s rye bread is Oro Wheat that is baked in San Diego. Most of the ex New Yorkers in the San Diego area are from the Buffalo area.

Destroying amazing old buildings helps hide our true history.

Sadly many Polish people in Buffalo have imposed ethnic cleansing .... lost their language and everything else

Don't speak very good Polish. Would like translation of the lyrics of the music!

Translation: I don't want her... you can have her... she's too fat for me.
Just kidding, but that is a Polish song.

The Democratic Party screwed up Polonia...the only time we can go in the district is on Dyngus Day! It shouldn't be that way
