MUSIC!! "U Make Me Feel" by MK2 - Фільми й анімація
Polar Express DID indeed get an A+ Cinemascore, so there has, in fact, been a horror movie with an A+.
LOL!!!!
But in reality, here are the horror movies with A+ on Cinemascore: Terminator 2 and The Passion of the Christ. That is the full extent.
@@weirdguy1495neither are really horror
Those dead eyes man!
The Polar Express is the best Christmas Horror movie
James just saying what other movies got A+ while Chelsea was trying to figure out the 80’s movie killed me
Bro “schindlers list, a+” was fucking incredible
@@apotatofarmer2871 Graessle dying in the background was so funny
Graessle has one of those laughs that makes you laugh.
My favorite moment of this episode is James chirping "Schindler's List, A plus!" and Graessle promptly losing his shit off-screen.
And then when he goes Homeward Bound and Graessle yells from offscreen “NO SHIT”
James' eye contact any time he mentions Five Nights and the "lost his brother" meme. I'm DYING
I never heard anyone call James Cameron “King Jimmy” but now it is definitely in my daily vernacular
He's been married five times. There's no way he hasn't been called that at least once.
@@coolnerdlll6053 when James said king jimmy my mind went to jimmy king from ready to rumble 🤣🤣🤣.
Same
The “Cillian Murphy was in a random ass horr..OMG” was a great realization
I totally forgot he was in Quiet Place 2. I saw that movie in theaters, but I guess it was kinda forgettable.
I thought James was talking about Dylan Arnold being in Halloween Kills. When he said Quiet Place 2, I literally facepalmed.
Just like Chelsea I too forgot
I mean.... 28 days later? 😂
I thought this meant Red Eye
The amount I was SCREAMING Silence of the Lambs at Chelsea, knowing full well that in Chelsea's position my mind would go blank too... sorry Chelsea.
Same! I was yelling avatar and Star Wars! Then I was thinking nope girl just lost every movie from her mind. I know that feeling.
One of the most surprising CinemaScore's ever for a horror movie, and one that really shows that horror's CS scale is different from other movies, is Hereditary receiving a D+. It opened at just 13m domestically, and would go on to make more than 3x's that (44m).
I LOVE how visibly confused Chelsea is the entire time James is trying to explain his box office tangent
@@cosmicurgencyWhat is your deal? Were you a theater owner that went bankrupt?
Maybe she just doesnt agree because it is a weak argument. Sure there were arguably less leisure activity to burn money on in the 1950's but the population was a hell of a lot smaller too with less access to getting to a theatre....so his logic doesnt quiet track.
Gresel saying bullshit when james says "homeward bound A+" cracked me up 😂
69 likes nice thanks meatys
Possibly the best moment in this fantastic episode.
“Movie that came out this year that really spoke to a specific audience” I was willing to bet my entire life James was about to say Cocaine Bear
Ironically, Emily Blunt was also in both Oppenheimer and A Quiet Place Part II
I was able to find a few that weren’t included…sure there are probably more…
Aliens (1986) - A
The Lost Boys (1987) - A-
Child’s Play 2 (1990) - A-
Silence of the Lambs (1991) - A-
Zombieland (2009) - A-
The Conjuring (2013) - A-
Dracula Untold (2014) - A-
Goosebumps (2015) - A
The Conjuring 2 (2016) - A-
Get Out (2017) - A-
A Quiet Place Part II (2021) - A-
Five Nights at Freddy’s (2023) - A-
Thank you for this list wanted to see them all
I wonder if Aliens was too much action for the original poster on Reddit to include on the list. Along with Zombieland. I don’t really think it would be considered horror by most people.
Aliens is an action movie through and through. Zombieland I agree with
I was SCREAMING Silence of the Lambs at the screen that was brutal to watch 😅
Same
I had it when James said it was a "lady rocks" movie, knowing it was a 90s thriller than some might not consider horror. Before the "lady" hint, I was going back and forth between Silence of the Lambs and Se7en.
Me too! This film was eating at my intuition the entire episode
I am ashamed to say I got it only after he said it won awards. And it's one of my favorite films!!
Me: "It's Lost Boys Chelsea!!! It's Lost Boys!!!"
Also, totally get why Mother! got an F. It was marketed as a mainstream horror movie and the studio knew exactly what they were doing
Plus, even Chelsea, who likes it, apparently hated it leaving the theatre. Imagine getting asked to grade it immediately.
James has one of the sassiest leg crosses of any man I've seen
I love how James kept listing random movies with an A+ score
james if you don't already, watch Dan Murrell for box office stuff, he's by far the best person that talks about it
Dan’s gotta be the most underrated cinema UA-camr. He’s so passionate and informative
@@woodyhitya been watching him and charts since it was at screenjunkies/fandom and love it
I fucking love Dan dude, I get excited anytime charts come out
Ran to the comments to recommend Dan the man Murrell!! He digs into the data *and* goes into the nuances of *why* the data could be what it is. GREAT stuff
^the people above this comment are cool^
It's such a joy to watch someone who is passionate about a topic explain it. I love it every time Chelsea gets to show off her researching skills, and I loved it today with James' box office trivia!
“Would this be a movie for the girls and the gays?!” If you didn’t love Chelsea before, you do now. 😂😂😂
52:43
as a girl and a gay I gotta approve
James reading off stats is just candy for my brain
james "who dont fail" and chelsea failure to read it followed by even harder doubling down of WHO DONT FAIL as she descends into laughter is hilarious
God i love that it was killing james when she kept saying Oppenheimer trying to guess who it was.
Thank you Chelsea, James, and the entire Dead Meat team for all the great content this year!
Jurassic Park also got an A CinemaScore (if we're counting Jurassic Park as horror)
Aliens also got an A score.
Mike Schmidt (from Five Nights at Freddy’s) is gonna become the new podcast running gag isn’t he ?
He lost his brother
I hope you guys never stop doing these podcasts, I love just listening to you two talk about horror and do weird random games! Very entertaining
A quite place 2 is really good. Yah theres some dumb character decisions but the direction is really good if not better than the first. I love that world and its atmosphere so i dont really care if its just more of the same thing when that thing is fantastic. The opening flashback is one the greatest sequences ive ever watched.
It took so long for me to get used to the fact that Chelsea wasn't the one giving hints in this one.
Me yelling “say Silence of the Lambs” for like half an hour. ☠️
I nearly died when I heard Graessle laughing at 37:57. I shouldn’t have taken such a deep hit of my pen tbh 😂
Thank you guys. Have had a tough year but nothing compared to others in this world. Stay positive Dead Meat fam. Things could be worse, it’s up to you to make them better.
Dan Murrell did a great video on what CinemaScore means when he was at Screen Junkies. Also James, if you don't watch Dan Murrell's videos on box office, I would check him out. He's my favorite source for box office analysis.
Your game episodes are my favorite and my comfort content
Seconded
I’m over here’s casually screaming Silence of the Lambs at Chelsea lol.
James chiming in every now and then with movies he didn't think would get a high score, while Chelsea is struggling with thinking about the answers is hilarious.
Y’all put the paper score card on screen and I am now realizing that I participated in a Cinemascore poll for Knock at the Cabin 😂 I gave it a C and it in fact got a C score lol
I love hearing how much James knows abt this box office stuff!! Fun flip on his usual confusion during games haha
James if you want to see good box office news, check out Dan Murrell’s charts with Dan. He puts so much effort into his show every week and goes into detail on how movies will do.
Obviously we’re all here for horror, but as an avid movie watcher in general, it’s always interesting hearing your opinions on different genres!
"I would hate to live in a world where horror was like a Marvel release"
Actually, I think we kinda lived through reality in the mid-90s through to the early 00s with the slate of big-budget, action-infused Creature Features like Deep Blue Sea, The Relic, Ananconda, Deep Rising and the Brendan Fraiser version of The Mummy.
I'm just not sure where to define the cutoff in this era - You definitely can also count stuff like Jurassic Park 1 and 2 but maybe Tremors doesn't count because it was too low budget and independent.
The Polar Express did, indeed, get an A+ Cinemascore.
Royal Rumble 2024?! Hell yeah, that was one of my favorites you've done!
Babe wake up, new podcast game episode dropped‼
Glad I decided to have the video on as I did chores instead of the podcast like usual! Nice to read the Cinemascore card on the screen
11:25 Is Molly squeak snoring in the background? She’s so cute.
I legit gasped when you said Wolf Creek has a F. *cries in Australian*
I appreciate Chelsea so much more now for her dedication to the games❤ Also I'm too excited for the Royal Rumble, I've been waiting for it since November
As a Michigander transplanted in Alaska, I feel like I'm listening to family in the Mitt when I watch your UA-cam channel. I know you're in California, but that sound is all below the bridge, baby.
Happy holidays I love you guys!
Incredible topic to review! Great episode, as always! And, of course, thank you for being lovely people
I love the Hausu clock behind James! Happy holidays!
I love the game episodes!! And James hosting this time!! So exciting!!
Love the passion in this episode
This episode is so good so well paced and entertains as hell
Loved rewatching this in video form to see jist how much James clearly reveled in getting to torture Chelsea with one of these games for a change.
The amount of times I was screaming CHILDS PLAY 2 is laughable😂😂😂
❤ pleasure to watch yall
I also got into box office stuff this year! Bless Dan Murrell such a good channel
This was such a fun one to play along with! Harder than I thought to guess the movies. Silence of the Lambs was no surprise though!
I thought is said cinemassacre, witch is an amazing channel, also hosted by a cool dude called james 👍
Usually not a fan of when they divert to these games, but this one I actually found very interesting!
i openly loved avatar from the moment i saw it in the cinema. i'm so thankful to the people who made fun of it because i get to enioy more avatar films.
king james' spite brings joy to me.
I really enjoy these podcast vids thanks
As soon as I heard that James was running the game this time immediately knew that he was going to get revenge on Chelsea for everything that she's done to him
Edit:I stand corrected
Edit...again:I'm gay
This was a lot of fun to watch Chelsea play this time, not that I don't enjoy James figuring trivia out. Hope to see more of them switching back and forth who runs the games and who plays, maybe with Gresal (sorry if I spelled that wrong) and Zoran too.
the podcast is my favorite dead meat content, but I often fail to get around to watching new releases right away so I've missed the last few episodes!
Love this end-of-the-year video idea
Hey James and Chelsea! Loved the episode, even though me and my mother were incredibly frustrated by the end of it lol Big fan of the channel for going on 4 years now and am very happy with the recent format expansion for horror updates! I've got a favor to ask or a recommendation for a possible update segment. I'm huge on streaming services and would LOVE to see a streaming segment with good/notable horror movies coming to/leaving soon from different streaming services. Sort of a "Hey guys! Like the Friday the 13th franchise? Well good news! All the Paramount produced films are now available on (so and so)" thing
Love the podcast games definitely my favorite episodes 😂
Looking forward to all the good stuff y'all have lined up in 2024.
I actually did a Cinemascore poll with some friends of mine after The Marvels, the ballot looked the exact same as the one shown.
Love the Dead Meat podcast!!! Woot woot!!
I have been screaming since the beginning, THE 80S MOVIE IS THE LOST BOYS
My mind also immediately went to Josh Peck when trying to think of who was in Oppenheimer 😂
regarding legs this is absolutely what happened with minus one. they only intended to show it for a week and then they were like "oh you guys like this? have another week" and then it lasts in theaters until feburary
Whenever this podcast idea was brought up in past podcasts or James's live streams, I thought they meant music scores and that Chelsea was going to guess the highest ranking music in horror😅
Good hints, James! I got silence of the lambs long before your many successive hints
Spent at least a year processing how Hereditary could’ve gotten a D+ when it’s the best movie ever made, but then I remembered they called it “the next Exorcist” or something like that in the trailer.
I haven’t even finished listening but I’m screaming at Chelsea not immediately knowing Silence of the Lambs!
8 am got me something to watch now
I LOVE James’s sweater!!!!! Where do these cool clothes come from.
Nothing better to watch on a sick day ✌🏻
9:37 According to TheNumbers, Joker is the only Rated R movie to make a billion. At least if you don’t adjust for inflation.
ROYAL RUMBLE 2! ROYAL RUMBLE 2! ROYAL RUMBLE 2! I'm So Excited!
Can't wait for the Dead Meat Royal Rumble!!
Love having Chelsea finally playing one of these games!
Love the sweaters
Child’s Play was the only one I got before Chelsea! As a girl and a gay, I can confirm!
Chatting horror movies, stats and putting Chelsea in the hot seat - very fun ✨
"Just white-washing their reputation." XD Thank you, James! I have rather gleefully told people that Ed smacked Lorraine around. More people need to know!
And somehow that's not even the worst thing he'd done. Lorraine's contract with New Line had a special clause about things that were off limits from being shown. That clause includes depicting them as "engaging in crimes, including sex with minors, child pornography, prostitution or sexual assault". And if you know about Ed, then you know why that was included. To say that the Warren's were trash is an understatement.
I love the James quizzing Chelsea format haha
James' interstitial sponsor drawing dude looks like Michael Keaton😂
Since James covered it, how is Aliens not on the list? It has a solid A on cinemascore
Same with Jurassic Park. I just think the list he was using didn't classify them as horror.
I would love to see Chelsea play more games from James in the future!
Thanks so much for explaining how film profit works. I've always wondered why a movie needs to make at least twice its budget to succeed.
I'd recommend another youtuber, Dan Murrell, if you're interested in learning more about box office.
@@NateBeeman Thanks.
"Mother!" got an F as Cinemascore? That's my favorite horror movie, I can't.
It's interesting that in the beginning you mentioned Avatar 2. My local closest movie closed after New Year's Eve last year. I saw that sequel on that day, and out of hundreds of movies I've seen at that theater over the years,it was the last.
When I saw the episode title, I was thinking it was going to be a game where clips of movie scores are played and somebody has to guess the movie. But, at least you all have an idea now for a future episode.
I aaaammmm so fucking happy childs play 2 got on there, one of my favorite horror movies of all time and one of the first ones I had ever seen 🤧👏
I saw Mother in theaters and I was blown away. Everyone else leaving the theater were clearly disappointed.
