Oh yeah, can even drive someone to drink
Imagine? I see it a lot with the public, catch someone in a lie or doing something they shouldn’t. People (not all) cannot take responsibility for their actions and rather play the victim…
The sad thing is that some people are literal victims, 24/7. Then some asshole like her comes along and tries to parlay that actual suffering into getting out of drunk driving.
Some people actually do suffer every day of their lives, and this piece of work is out here turning it into a joke.

Exhausting to see people act like this.
This is just sad, as a black man in America I can assure you august that this is not how minorities act
No one thought that 👍🏼
If there's anyone who had that as a first thought, there's probably no hope for them to be assured otherwise. That's their responsibility.
It’s not minorities. It’s millennials.
Not true, lol I see a dozen new arrest videos each day of black men & women being arrested when caught doing something & they blame racism for their arrest & they're being targeted 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
It's a Millennial and Gen Z thing, and I blame social media for that. They see some Starbucks Coffee drinking woman on TikTok telling them how they're constant "victims" and to blame everyone else for their problems instead of actually dealing with their problems like an adult. Social media also promotes being lazy and getting everything you want without actually working for it. Social media is a cancer on humanity. She probably doesn't even have social anxiety, some dope on TikTok told her she has it.
While I agree that the police officer is not being “nice” here, I still think he is very professional. Having seen a lot of videos of police officers being unprofessional, this is somewhat refreshing. He did not escalate. He tried to do the field sobriety test correctly. He treated her with proper respect.
I was genuinely shocked though when he asked about how to refer to her thats very out of character for american police
Yeah I don’t think he’s being “nice”, I think he’s being a good police officer.
I don’t think she deserves him being nice, she was risking the lives of other people and children
Yeah that was a bold claim he made, especially when he said most nice police officers have a secret agenda, which is just silly. Everyone is entitled to their opinion no matter how bad they are. I think he just has a bad opinion about police in general, which is perfect if you’re a criminal defense lawyer (or was going to be). Cops should do everything they possibly can to keep drunk driving morons off the roads.

Look, there are plenty of times where bringing those things up might matter. When a police officer is already telling you to get out of your car, that is NOT the time. As someone with social anxiety and panic disorder, this is no excuse. There are no excuses for drunk driving.
She is not saying "I have social anxiety so therefore I'm allowed to drive drunk." You get that, right? She's using social anxiety to excuse her inability to interact with the police officer normally, in hopes that it will cause the officer to conclude that her abnormal behavior and inability to do the FSTs is because of social anxiety and generational trauma.
Basically she's saying that she's acting the way she is because of social anxiety and generational trauma, NOT because she's drunk.
Her ploy is to claim she isn't drunk. Not to claim that it is okay that she's drunk.

Yep. IDK why he's critical of the cop. There's a million valid reasons. He chose the one where the cop was perfect. They acted like they knew what was going on because they did. It's very obvious
not sure if its the same one I dont think so since I dont think the man was drunk but it reminded me of a woman like many years ago, maybe even 10 who was riding her bike and was killed a couple days before her wedding. it happens a lot and its super, super sad. I do feel bad for the driver too if I remember correctly it was all just a complete accident, but its something that would live with them forever. They didnt get jail time since, it was shown the driver wasnt at fault, the woman wasnt either but I dont remember what exactly happened
@KNR90 he wasn't really criticizing him so much as pointing out that he's a savvy cop. He knows how to trick a person into complying and that can be dangerous if he decides to use it for scummy reasons.
I had a very good friend whose twin brother, sister in-law, and unborn niece were killed by a drunk truck driver. He wound up dropping out due to severe depression.
@kjaxthegrate but criticizing someone for potentially having the ability to do bad things is very unfair, you could criticize every good person with any power for the same reason

The nerve to be a drunk driver and that insufferable. The cop was infinitely more respectful than I could have been in this situation. Kudos to him.
I wish people wouldn't try to use mental health as an excuse for being a bad human. Mental health issues do not make you a bad person, people like this person add to the stigma that hurts people with mental health issues.
Edit- My point is that mental health should be taken seriously, people really do need help and there is nothing wrong with that. The problem is that some people, just like with every issue, try to play the system and it always hurts the cause.
If their 'issues' make them drink & drive, the DMV should rescind their license due to medical reasons.
@@the_once-and-future_king. Anyone who drinks and drives should have their license revoked. Mental health could be a factor behind drinking but is not an excuse for endangering others. Mental health and the struggles behind it are very real and so our the consequences of our actions.

What pisses me off about people like this is they're the reason stuff like social anxiety or introversion is typically made fun of. My social anxiety isn't as bad nowadays as it was when I was a teen, but I'm still mocked by coworkers for preferring to be by myself. Whenever I so much as mention the word "anxiety" to someone, they just look at me like I just spoke an alien language, ESPECIALLY because I'm a guy, and by this society's standards "men can't have mental health issues". I just hate how because of people who exaggerate mental health issues on Tiktok, or because of people who use it as an excuse for the dumbest shit, people who genuinely suffer from those things aren't taken seriously.
In high school, I used to have such bad social anxiety that I talked with the principal of the school, and I was allowed to sit out in the empty side-hallway near the IT room. The deal was I had to be in the class to listen to lectures, but if we were just doing paperwork or videos I could be out in the hallway by myself. And guess what... Someone faking anxiety came into my hallway one day claiming they were having an "anxiety attack" and lo and behold, 15 minutes later, a whole group of her friends were in there talking loudly and joking and moving around to the point the IT lady (the only other person near that hallway) had to kick them out. Side note: I miss that IT lady. She left me alone for the most part but would still check on me and chat with me a little on my better days. She also kicked everyone else out that tried to join me in the hallway, unless I told her it was okay. I gave her a couple gifts before I graduated.
I completely agree, and am really glad you’re doing better now! I’ve not only dealt with bad anxiety on and off for most of my life, but I’m also Indigenous and have only mentioned it to cops when specifically asked (I have a pretty clearly Native name, so when they see my ID it’s definitely come up) and luckily it’s usually just out of curiosity on their part. If they’re so aware of the dangers and discrimination we can face with some cops, why would they flaunt it for no damn reason? Like you said, it just diminishes the seriousness of everything.
As someone with anxiety, we don't claim her. In the age of Uber and Lyft, I have zero sympathy for people who drunk drive. I'm pretty sure a bar will even call an Uber for you.

Looking back it angers me how selfish I was and I dont drink anymore. Watcing other people take these tests via bodycam gives me a strange feeling, and to anyone who has ever taken one, maybe you know this feeling.
Yes. The feeling that just by not walking correctly u can be sent to be charged and put through court cuz of imbalance
It seems insane that field sobriety tests are even a thing, when the cops have breathalyzers in their cars. Here in the UK they don't bother with any of that, just breathalyze you immeadiately, why would you not do that? Field sobriety tests are just completely open to human error, just an utter waste of time.
@@nanaki01it lets them target minorities, and via the thirteenth amendment, get slave labour and funding.
I've driven in outrageous states. More than one crash, but always got lucky. Back around 2000 drug testing wasn't really commonplace, and I'm pretty sure the ecstasy saved me on the breathalyser once. Wouldn't do it now, its very stupid and dangerous. If I was caught though, I would've just be compliant and held my hands up if I'm bang to rights.
These entitled people are fucking slimy.
Same. Twice. Both times admitted to drinking. Passed the fst according to them both times and I’m so lucky my absolute stupidity didn’t cost me or anyone else anything but some time. I no longer drink and haven’t in years, but tbh, they should have breathalyzed me immediately. I don’t see why we even draw the thing out like that. Get the drinkers off the road and be done with it.
It amazes me how people are so entitled that they use their problems and disorders like social anxiety to think they can escape punishment. This pisses me off so much. I know people go through things and anxiety is NO joke I have been there PLENTY of times (I hope this lady gets the love and support she needs) but, it's not a good look using it to escape punishment tbh. The law will stay the same no matter what state of mental health you're in. If you break the law own up to it.
Exactly. It would be like a criminal excusing their actions on having emotional issues.
Obviously it didn't work for her, so what are you so upset about?
That's probably because they're terminally online, and screeching "ableism" has worked to their benefit on the internet.
@@WobblesandBean In what corner of the internet would "screeching ablism" gain a person a tangible benefit? Free Amazon Prime? Discount on Hulu? Karma points on Reddit?
This person is gaining nothing by claiming to have social anxiety. They never have and they never will. Even if true, they get nothing.
This is a drunk driver scared to face the consequences for their actions. They still had to face the consequences. Nothing is different for them than it would be for you. They still got the charge, the arrest, the court date. Their feeble attempt to get away with it was no different than millions of other people making excuses for their drunk driving.
Because it’s worked for them so far.. the world has gone soft. But thank god it looks like the days of people being able to use their “identity” as a ready made shield against criticism/accountability are fading fast. That shit got old fast.
Convenient how that “social anxiety” kicks in after a social night of drinking.
Im non-binary myself but I would NEVER bring that up when I was getting arrested. Sure, I would say 'please use they/them' but I wouldnt call it harrassment if the cop forgot... being in the LGBTQ is just not an excuse for anything

3:19 What should he have done instead to be "professional and nice"? He smelled the alcohol, he was cordial and in control while building evidence, and he took her off the road without escalating. She could have killed someone. Such weird potshots at the cop doing his job.
The only issue I have with the sentiment of the reactions are that you should EVER do field sobriety tests. Give me a blood and breath test and let me be, I'm not hopping on one foot while holding a carrot in my butt just for fun.
I've watched enough of these police interactions to know the FSTs are BS and unnecessary. They need to just do the breathalyzer and be done with it. Those tests are more so about dominating the suspect and their own entertainment. She's a POS for drinks and driving but the cop was kinda douchey
As a tennis ball, I don't even know how I can breathe, walk, type, eat, sleep, drink, play games, and such. I don't even know why I am here.
You know how many times I have been stopped with sht on me, or being messed up in public, and I have zero criminal record because I was just honest, respectful, and handed over my sht. Treat cops like people and, unless you got 3 pounds of meth or a body in the trunk, things will typically go a lot easier than you might think.

Field sobriety tests are not designed to have you fail. I was pulled out of my vehicle on suspicion of DUI. Passed the field sobriety test and a breathalyzer. Blew all zeros. Went on my way.
Why would they bother giving you a breathalyzer if you "passed" the field sobriety test? I've heard police say in videos like this numerous times field sobriety tests are not pass or fail.
@blegend9351
I'd assume they aren't pass or fail either. I would guess they're just tools to help the cop determine if you are actually under the influence.
I'll never forget that cop's disappointment when I passed everything. He sure was hoping to nab a DUI bust.
Right but some people may mess up on the field sobriety tests just on accident. Depending on how vindictive the cop is even the slightest mistake he could consider as just cause for arrest
You're right, they aren't "designed to make you fail." They aren't even pass/fail. They are just a tool the officer uses in conjunction with other evidence and observations to make a determination.
@@blegend9351 I'm wondering the opposite. Why do Americans insist on doing these circus tricks when in the rest of the world, you can just blow from your seat in a little breathalyzer and be done with it. Those things are much more reliable than field sobriety tests anyway.

When my social anxiety was at it's worst I would have stuttered like crazy with my words and told the 100% truth and probably pissed my pants. Followed by a mental breakdown afterwards while thinking about how I'm gonna tell my family about this without dying of embarrassment.
But hey, that's just me!
@@GH23d7sL45 that too
Yeah same
I would've just started crying lol😭
This obsession with saying non-binary sheesh as if that's a card that invalidates anything against you
Yup, I hate it so much, I’m non binary myself. It’s not a trend
they probably have like some fake queer card laminated in their wallet n they pull it out like at least 10 times a day
@@ryanap8396NON-BINARY means nothing how are you not a gender. Male or Female.

I genuinely think that it was just so he uses the correct pronouns on them
As a person of the LGBT community, we do not claim this person
Nor do I. Their card may have to be temporarily removed.
As a person of the earthling community *cocks gun* we do not claim this one.
bro i have PTSD and anxiety and im doing my driving permit test tomorrow and ya know what im not gonna do. drink and drive and use anxiety as an excuse
Clearly the best option 😍
Let me know how it goes but I hope you do well

Omg i would fail that second one too, I can’t visualize anything
We need more vids like this especially with your background its very entertaining and informative
Social Anxiety is a phase that makes you have a hard time trying to communicate with the outer world and have a nervous feeling about the next scenes, but drunk driving is something an irresponsible and reckless person would do and it only makes people treat you just like the way you think they're gonna act when you're anxious
if your severly depressed, you dont leave the house for days.
if you have social anxiety, you dont go out to bars.
SOMEONE MAKE THIS MAKE SENSE, PLEASE.
*I am not defending their actions* but those are both on the extreme ends of disorder you can have depression or anxiety and still live relatively normally
That's actually not at all true. I'm on disability for my agoraphobia, GAD, and bipolar. When I would get severely depressed I would turn to drinking, I'd drink a little before going to the bar along with a Xanax and go out and drink in order to self medicate. It makes perfect sense if you truly do understand these disorders and the ways in which people try to self medicate and make those feelings go away. Not taking up for her, but what you're saying is just not true.
What are you talking about? I have both and I do both. Hell, my depression is so bad, it made me faint and lead to a seizure that lasted for 3 days, but that doesn't stop me from going out to have fun.
i have social anxiety due to autism and i've driven drunk absolutely zero times. my favorite way to travel without having to talk to people is walking. (edit: i'm nonbinary and i'm trying to figure out wtf that's got to do with drunk driving. how would that excuse even work?)
I think it's because he called her Miss
the second time, I'm not sure though. Probabley just too drunk.
@@-14382 oh, no, i got that far. i was wondering about the second time.
chronically online, like i do mention being trans in conversations but it’s really only with my friends that are also trans or when it’s on the topic of the queer community. they’re most likely just using it to try and guilt trip the cop into letting them go
august the duck is the only youtube channel where i can watch every single video of his, hit play all and be entertained for hours and know theyre all gonna be great
As a non-binary person myself, the law has the right to misgender you and you dont need to correct them. They are not ur friend, they are not here to make you feel comfortable in ur own skin. Save that for ur friends and family. Ur gender identity is a personal thing, not something you should tell authority figures you’ll only see once in ur life. It can be a nuisance for them.
Well said AND thank you!❤
I get socially anxious too sometimes but if I ever got pulled over, I would not start spewing out that excuse, thinking it's going to get me out of trouble. I'd simply tell the officer whatever he needs to hear and cooperate the whole time
I suffer from generational trauma too. I had a Neanderthal ancestor who got kicked out of his cave. Oh the indignity!
At my old job, i went to the mall (that was only a couple of blocks away from the building) for lunch three days into my employment there. The left turn to get on the road back to my job was confusing and I ended up going into the wrong way. Luckily there was no one coming towards me. Immediately pulled over. I was mortified. Gave license and registration, I did explain that I was three days into a new job and luckily didn't get a ticket. Sometimes mistakes do happen but they're a lot more likely and dangerous when intoxicated behind the wheel
As someone with ptsd and social anxiety, drinking may makes you more brave but you shouldn´t drink in the first place.. you don´t get only addicted to it but you even think you can´t communicate with others without drinking before. I get her excuse but this is still so stupid and brings a bad light to everyone that suffers from social anxiety
I had to google what the fuck generational trauma even was. This is actually comedy gold.
is it even a thing?
@@siinxkj It is. For example, a parent might have a really traumatizing childhood, and as a result they themselves are poor parents for their children. As a result their children are traumatized and the cycle continues. There's also growing research on trauma and epigenetics.
@@bobdathang3229 ahh okay i see, it sounds like something that you wouldnt say out loud let alone an excuse for drunk driving
@@siinxkjyeah, it’s essentially forcing rigid traditions on your children that create a cycle of abuse, effectively training your kids to abuse their kids who then abuse their kids (and so on and so forth). it’s the choice of the parents to break that cycle and decide what’s best for their kid, but having it be directly tied to white ppl i personally think is total bullshit considering that if they even are indigenous at all then they’re blatantly white-passing
lol “ I shouldn’t be pulled over for drunk driving as I have social anxiety” and I don’t deserve a ticket
This video was both informative and entertaining, I think you did a great job using your knowledge to educate.
Love these videos and watch my fair share of them. Love your videos as well, and here we see the two together. Very cool.
I have PTSD and extreme anxiety. And yet, I don't name drop my diagnoses the moment I need to be held accountable for something.
As a person who doesnt claim to have a mental disorder for attention we dont claim her
“I just wanna tell you-“ Girl that’s all you’ve been telling us! We heard you the first time! But your “anxiety” (I have a hard time believing she actually has anxiety. And I feel so bad for people who actually Anxiety being mocked like this), Doesn’t make it impossible to A: Not drink and Drive. B: Walk in a straight line. And C: Move your eyes back and forth.
GENERATIONAL TRAUMA?!
Vicariously living through her ancestors to give up accountability
As someone that has done the sober test multiple times....he def was moving his finger twice as fast as normal. 😂❤
This lady loves labels.
They, and not a lady, but ya they really do
You know it’s gonna be a great day when August releases a video
For someone who has "bad social anxiety," she seems to be really talkative.
As a woman, we don't claim her either.
as a trans person we don’t want them either and pass them to the therians
im not a therian but a furry but ill awnser for them and pass them along to someone who cares lmao
As a human, we don't claim her
SO having 15 imaginary mental conditions and being an Indigenous person in her mind somehow prevents her looking at a finger.....She is so cringe she deserves a night at jail just for that.
“Don’t! You’re being a white man!”
😂😂😂
I wonder when she removed all her social medias after this came out. I remember awhile back when I saw this but glad to see a lot of people covering this and how crazy people really are to come up with every excuse possible to not be accountable.
she literally played every victim-card imaginable...
As a nonbinary person, if the cop calls me "miss" I am not going to correct him when it may just make the situation worse depending on if they are prejudiced or not, and because I want the situation over as quick as possible
I Watched This On UA-cam A While Back But I’m Glad He’s Covering It, This Person Is On The Ninth Elevator Of Delusion.
Lmao! August and the cop are much nicer than I am. I can’t stand when people think that whatever amount of oppression they feel they have, it somehow allows them to get away with doing whatever they want, even if it can hurt or kill someone. Idc what you are or what you have. go straight to jail. All of your identities may get you out of trouble in high school or college, but not in real life. Fafo.
