- A full tour of the glorious Milwaukee Public Museum before it closes down in early 2026 for a new museum later that year. Sadly, they will destroy many classic and amazing exhibits that were built as part of this museum in the 1980s, so a real treasure may be lost. This episode includes a walkthrough of the Streets of Old Milwaukee (with Granny) as well as the European Village - even the Butterfly Conservatory.
It will be so tragic when this place closes...
This is a repost and partial reconstruction of an older video from my 2019 visit, so it is not to current standards.

The reason they want to move is because the building is more trouble than it is worth. outwardly it is a really interesting building, but it is deteriorating more and more each year, and the place is a threat to specimen storage and preservation. The upkeep of the building in the long-term and the risks to the artifacts would cost far more than to replace the building with a more modern museum that will keep their collections safe.
It sucks we will loose a lot of things that are so iconic about the current facility, but they are thinking about the future; and a new museum with new memories for future generations is so exciting!
Yeah this video was made in 2019 before much of that information was publicized. I am still in deep mourning and hope to get back there to make a better, more accurate video, and also hope to be pleasantly surprised with the new museum.
