Great Job ! your tools are made with art , alongside with a lot of experience and a natural skill -- its a pleasure to watch . congratulations from Brasil .
I have the guts to try just not the funds to take it to the next step. But I’m slowly getting there and finding other ways to achieve the same goal with smaller less expensive tools. I’ve been wanting to get into forging because I have the wood working skills and some fabrication skills. Just wanting to step out of my comfort zone again. Lol. But I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and understanding some of the principles of what your doing. And my mind has been running wide open with ideas from your vids. Thank you for doing the videos.
Very nice piece of blacksmithing as always! I do not currently have the equipment to try my own hand at it but I love watching your videos in the meantime. I really like the signature handle style you put on all of your tools.
Great job Torbjörn! I finished my first real decorative piece last week. A metal woodrack for fire wood. more than 8 meters of round bar, 12 different pieces, 20 rivets. It is not at all perfect, it has a lot of small imperfections but I'm really proud of it. Most difficult build that I've ever done :D
+knives&stuff Sweet! Adjusting the final assembly, I find, is always a challenge. To get things straight, parallel and true... Just to get a candle holder to stand straight can take a good 20 minutes :(
You should really do a shop tour and go through some of the tools and equipment you have, that is always interesting to see and I'm betting a video like that can be done way faster than a blacksmithing project... if you're looking to put out other/more content that is :)
I really watching enjoy your videos and seeing how the things are made. I realised for the first time today that your camera work and editing are really good too. Before, I ws always focused just on the blacksmithing, but I can see you put a lot of effort into the film production too. Looking forward to more :)
Great work, but hey man I keep on fighting the good fight in Overwatch. Those turrets you build are amazing and really help my team take the objective.
+Torbjörn Åhman There's a guy in a new video game(over watch) that is called Torbjörn. The game revolves around different heroes and their abilities. The hero that has the same name you do can place a turret. Expect quite a few jokes like this coming your way, the game is very popular :p
Where did you get that beautiful cross pein you were using did you forge it yourself or did you buy it and what's the weight on it I am forging my first hammer in a few days when I finish the drift and punch. Thank you
+Eddie Ladson That is a bought one! I think it's the only one I have ever bought new... but it was quite a while ago. You can still buy them new from Hultafors. www.hultafors.se/handverktyg/slag/hammare/verkstadshammare/smideshammare-z/ The one in this video is the 900g version.
How would a handle have been attached to something like that back before modern welding? Would the entire tool, handle and all, just be forged as a whole?
One could have forged the entire piece, no problem. BUT, this tool is meant to be used with a power hammer, so it's not a traditional tool in that way. A similar, "authentic" tool is made with a shank underneath to fit your anvil hardy hole.
could you make a shop walk through video sometime.. you seem to have a pretty awesome set up. also how does your charcoal forge operate? do you have a a blower underneath or in the hood? thanks!
Whos isnt! Lol.. I currently am using a small propane forge but it can be rather expensive to keep filling.. I want to try and make a coal forge like u have
+Alexander Busch This one is a piece of custom "High strain steel" along the lines of A517(B)... Odd but I got some drops for free and it seems to work for a verity of tools. For this type of tool even mild steel would hold up pretty good I think, but medium carbon steel like 1045,4140 would be my standard steel pick.
+Torbjörn Åhman Have you always been using coke? I thought I've seen you use coal in other videos. I use both coal and coke, but find forge welding in the coke to be more challenging. How do you like coke for forge welding?
+Milos Cucukovic Thanks! It will take a while to heat up so I think it's beneficial, however a mild steel version would probably hold up for quite a while also, depending on how you use it.
that tool turned out very nice. shows how much pride went into it. Thanks for sharing your craftsmanship
Don't stop making videos! Watching you work is extremely impressive, and blacksmithing is a lost artform.
+Jared Bush Thanks! No I will make more, but I have been extremely busy with other things lately...
Always such great camera angles in addition to skilled work. please continue posting!
As always, beautiful forging but I really love that old pump. I haven’t used one like that since I was a kid.
Thanks!
Great Job ! your tools are made with art , alongside with a lot of experience and a natural skill -- its a pleasure to watch . congratulations from Brasil .
Thanks
Fantastic! Glad to see you are still at it
Enjoy all your videos! Keep hammering away!
Thank You! Nice piece...can't wait to see what you will make with it. ~PJ
+pjsalchemy Hopefully that will come in the next video or so. :)
I love the new power hummer!
Nice video
Beautiful work. You really take the time in making your tools and they look terrific. Thanks for sharing.
Great video. Swage looks awesome. Looking forward to the next video.
You make everything look so easy!
+Phil L Really? Thanks
Been following on Facebook. You make beautiful hammers.
Thanks!
I’m sure you excel at everything you put your mind to. Great work!
Not necessarily, you just have to have the guts to try new things.

Nice work. Nicely made video.
Som alltid ett utmärkt jobb
+elchschmiede Tack!
Thanks for helping me learn the craft.
Cool, thanks!
Very nice piece of blacksmithing as always! I do not currently have the equipment to try my own hand at it but I love watching your videos in the meantime. I really like the signature handle style you put on all of your tools.
+Liam Harder Thanks!

Torbjörn Åhman Yes, exactly the problems I had. I will send you a picture once I finish whire brushing it!
Great! thanks
Interesting video, very relaxing!
Som balsam för själen att titta på.
you make this look effortless... i envy you! haha
Fantastisk håndtverk!
Great video! Love to watch it, and still wish you have more time to make more and more blacksmithing films... :)
+DUBST KFD Thanks! I know, it's frustrating :)
+Torbjörn Åhman for that reason the more thanks for sharing! For me all your films are like poetry. Just keep it going. ;)
You should really do a shop tour and go through some of the tools and equipment you have, that is always interesting to see and I'm betting a video like that can be done way faster than a blacksmithing project... if you're looking to put out other/more content that is :)
+eldsprutandedrake I will consider that... have received a number of requests like that :)
Nice work

+keltoi3000 Thanks!
Hey, very nice work 👍
Watching and try to do it !!! Like it 🇵🇹
Great work! Would love to get into blacksmithing one day. You should make some Viking weaponry at some stage.
+Touren Wagen Thanks! At some stage... maybe!
Great! Good job!
Good work.
+IsabelAfOhring He he... tack.
un gran vídeo. Estupendo
What kind of metal do you use for the half swage? And what are the size of the square before you use the round with the power jammer?
I think it was 1045 steel. Not sure about the size, you would have to guess from the video.
Awesome!
Good stuff :)
+John Rigoni Thanks John!
Great work, but hey man I keep on fighting the good fight in Overwatch. Those turrets you build are amazing and really help my team take the objective.
Turrets?

Dude, there is no way that I'm going to sit by and not let this man know his true destiny as a hero for this planet. This is no game.
Hugo Pekelharing
Ha ha ha... I didn't know about that game.
Where did you get that beautiful cross pein you were using did you forge it yourself or did you buy it and what's the weight on it I am forging my first hammer in a few days when I finish the drift and punch. Thank you

Ah ok, that makes sense! Thanks for the reply.
Could you give me the measurements of the diameter you used and the type of material? Thank you.
It's C45 / 1045 steel. The dimensions are not important at all. Make what you need.
@@torbjornahman Ok, thank you
could you make a shop walk through video sometime.. you seem to have a pretty awesome set up. also how does your charcoal forge operate? do you have a
a blower underneath or in the hood? thanks!
+Colin pierce I will try and do that... the shop is always a mess though...
Whos isnt! Lol.. I currently am using a small propane forge but it can be rather expensive to keep filling.. I want to try and make a coal forge like u have
A nice hotdog holder
+Nicolas Sage Ha ha, indeed.
Blizzard plz nerf Torbjorn turrets. Honestly that shit is op.
Hi,
which type of steel did you use?
I thought high carbon steel and welding dont work.

Hi! What kind of electrode and amperage did you used?
Oh, that's probably a 2.5mm OK48.00 (7018), at around 90 AMPS maybe?
@@torbjornahman Takk :)! I was expecting more amperage... I tried with a 6013 but didn´t went well...
great video, and did you make your own forge or buy one?
+Race Darga I use a commercial fire pot, the rest I have fabricated.
très beau travail j adore ta chaîne!!!
je suis très novice dans la forge.
a quoi sert cet outil ?????
+Romain Cazier Thanks! This tool has many uses. In a upcoming video I will show how it can be used.
6:00 craft yourself a very nice pirate hook, yarrr

Tack! Det är lite olika. Denna hade jag inte gjort innan.
What fuel do you use for the furnace? Is it coal or gas?
+Doktor Jönsson In this video I burn coke (koks) in the forge.
+Torbjörn Åhman Have you always been using coke? I thought I've seen you use coal in other videos. I use both coal and coke, but find forge welding in the coke to be more challenging. How do you like coke for forge welding?
Super
Is it necessary to heat treat? You gonna work with some hot steel on it so it will lose its temper anyway.I love your videos so thumbs up from me! :)
+Milos Cucukovic Thanks! It will take a while to heat up so I think it's beneficial, however a mild steel version would probably hold up for quite a while also, depending on how you use it.
We're do you buy stone Coal in Sweden
+2ND NEx tiger There are a few suppliers... check out "blocket" as well. Here is two - www.smideskol.se or shop.orsajarn.se
is that a different power hammer??
+John O Connell I have two... The small ABNO and the larger BECHE air hammer.
What steel did you use ?
I think it was 1045.
10-16-30? Did you run out of 25mm stock xD?
+Verdigris Sirgidrev He he... Probably could have started with 30 right away... but I wanted to take it easy :)
how big is your power hammer?
+LILWHISKER My big one has a ram weight of 75kg.
that looks extremely hard on your wrists and arms.
+Alan Fisher Not so bad actually, but you have to take it easy to start with and hold parallel with the dies....
can we have metal music in for background?
BTW I love your work
+Samuel Cozanet Thanks! Nope sorry, no metal :)
Soon I hope... been terribly busy lately.
+Torbjörn Åhman
Do you work as a blacksmith or this just a hobby of yours?
+Lobige123 It's "just" a hobby... but it is getting more serious by the day :)
Can be used for allot of things :) I will use it to make other tools in future videos.
oh. This is production tool. ok
I'm thinking about making some cross peen, straight peen and diagonal peen hammers. Seems like this would be perfect tool for making the peens.
Yes, it can definitely be useful for final shaping of the peen!
