I’ve just had the optimisation on my v90 t8 recharge. I didn’t have any battery so couldn’t tell yet but the petrol power fells nice and fast. I had 340m full tank miles after had 390m full tank 😂
Mr. Ang next time you get a new XC90 or any Volvo for that matter do the factory delivery. I did and my wife and I had the best 3 weeks vacation I have ever had. The care was top notch check it out if it is an option in your country. I can’t speak highly enough of it, it was so much fun when it’s time to turn the XC90 in we’re gonna buy another one and do overseas delivery all over again.
Nice!! Unfortunately malaysia doesnt have that option because the xc90 is locally assembled here, thus we dont get that option :( (volvo's first overseas assembly plant, and also the first plant out of sweden that assembles the spa platform phevs)

oh God how I miss this showroom so much . That showroom used to be old Jaguar showroom . My dad used to work there . I will came after school session waiting for my dad finish his work and go home . I do spend most of my time watching and staring the XF and XJ back in 2013 . How fast time flies .

Volvo just impressed me bobby... The SC even offering 'legal' tuning with performance package which doesn't void the warranty. I've been using few Japanese cars all this while and really wanted to use a continental car one day. I have just made my mind that its gonna be the s60 t8 engine (true sedan fan) .. Not a bimmer merc or audi

OK, you've convinced me to get my XC60 polestar-ed! Thanks for the useful info. I could relate to everything you have mentioned. Sometimes I feel the car is a little too high strung in POWER mode, like a racehorse wanting to run away from you. Seems like the upgrade makes things a little neater, smoother and more enjoyable...so this upgrade is super appealing!
@hoe zhonghan Hi there, no not yet unfortunately. Have not had the time to drop into Volvo yet. You are right about the body roll, I feel it as well during cornering sometimes. I doubt the optimization will sole this problem. This is better to fix with strut bars, which the new Polestar XC60 has. The optimization will only tune the engine and make it more responsive.

Whats the difference between plus and non-plus...i really love Volvos, waiting to get one..i think the interior is just brilliant
I think Plus adds Bowers and Wilkins sound system only for XC90. Not sure of other models. For XC60 T8, not sure if plus and non-plus both had air suspension or not.
Me too. But I can't afford a Volvo yet.
If not mistaken, plus is a upgrade of the interior design material like leather dashboard etc, not sure is it include the speakers

Its not as polestared version , its only optimization, so improve power, reaction on pedal and transmission improvement, any other u mention - nothing changed there :)

Having mentioning you have a tuned S4, I now trust your judgement lol. Looking for a good full size car but can't pass up having that extra kick like i do my S7. Thinking I may got with a used XC90 and get it polestarred. May go Heico sound select exhaust tho
But the S7 is by far more powerful

I was being made known that Mahathir back in the '97 recession period, encouraged Malaysians to spend their ass off, not really spend their ass off but spend as much as you can, but spent it on local stuff, not foreign stuff. In this way only can our money flow in the economy. Instead of some rich people who happen to keep holding on to their money and create economy disruptions.
How about the XC60 T8? Worth the polestar upgrade?
It's only worthwhile if you've driven your car for an extended period of time and knows distinctively how the car responds in every situation. This is because this tune is very mild and the improvements are noticeable yet subtle. If you did your polestar upgrade within a short period of time of ownership you might not even tell it's there.
Hi Bobby, is it worth getting a new XC90 T8 in 2024. Or should I look at other options. I am on a cx9 now.
Wait for a while, a XC90 major facelift coming. Front looks like EX90, interior looks like EX90 but rear remain XC90

Worth the money spent. Just polestar my v40 drive e few weeks ago and like it very much. Power and gear shifting speed faster. Aisin GB is really sluggish, but after polestar it definitely help.

I live in a condo, just like yourself. How do you charge your hybrid vehicle if your condo doesn’t provide a specific space for hybrid vehicles? Also, I heard that the battery will be self charging when the car is running but I can’t be sure about it. Would appreciate your time for your reply at your most convenient. Thanks.
I never bothered charging my car. I just fire the force charge using the engine to charge the battery whenever it's depleted. So that I can enjoy some quiet moments when needed.

that's not software update. volvo's software update happens over the air and is free. this rm4300 is for Polestar Performance Tuning.
@@BobbyAngmalaysia rm4300 is a steal in Malaysia, it cost quite a bit more here in Australia and over in Europe from what I've read. I will probably pull the trigger on the Pole* upgrade for my XC40 in the next week or two

How to charge it if we dont have a power source or staying in high rise Bobby ? How you cope with it ?
I just dont plug in. But i always activate force charging using my engine to charge my battery so i can always enjoy the full ev when needed
Love your reviews Bobby. About your xc90, it has 400+hp inclusive of electric power. What if you are on longer trips, your battery will be drained 1/3 way, only petrol powered. Doesn't the car feels like shit with 2.5 ton weight?

It's the software UI for transitioning between functions on the infotainment screen. The screen is actually big enough for any sudden alerts to pop up or split screen, but instead it just cancels whatever we are doing and show what it wants to show. And the camera software UI when reversing cars. Should have an overlaying effect of 360 on top or split screen with reverse view instead of choosing one or the other. Basically its UI design. And of course if there's a button to auto fold 3rd row would be better

I honestly prefer the 2019 BMW X5 as I loved my previous but now having bought the new one, it drives really better the original Xc90 ( not the polestar ) and it feels more lighter as I’ve felt that the xc90 was very heavy.

Yes I do. But no choice. I had to buy the Aston and RS6, can't afford having the XC90. But at least I know I will buy a new Volvo sometime in future but I definitely will not buy current generation of Audi or BMW. Too ugly.

I wonder how the T4 (by ford?) is doing with you as regard to engine reliability? I have S80 T4 My15 (by Ford) and there is 7 years extended warranty because shit do happen to all engines, and trans very soon regardless of how you maintain them regularly at the dealer !?

But of course, know this, there's no free lunch, the more power you squeeze, the less reliable it will be. So if you want proper, safe optimisations, stick with polestar. provided you're feeling naughty.
