Hi Guys, I'm always bombarded with interesting and valid questions about this grand old Pipe Organ, which I enjoy playing so much. This is a J.H. & C.S. Odell, Op. 196 Pipe Organ built in 1883, and moved into my Church in 1912. Great thanks to my Pastor, Rev. Jarrett,(35 years and still serving in the same Church) who has been so kind to this treasure and ensured the periodic maintenance of the Organ. So this Odell Pipe Organ is about 129 years old, and going onto 100 years in my Church.

Thank you Mr. Fleischer for sharing your beautiful musical gift and talent as well as the beautiful Organ and song with us all. It raises my soul just to hear this soul inspiring song played on an antique like that organ. It sounds the way I think Julia Warde Howe would have wanted it to. Bless you. Sadly, a lot of churches don't use these anymore and true spiritual music like this piece doesn't sound right to me played on electronic instruments.

I think any American that hears this and doesn't get a tear in their eye would have to be lacking normal emotions or something. Hearing a pipe organ always evokes something in my soul whether it's a regular church pipe organ like this one seems to be or one with four or five keyboards a gazillion pedals and 8,000 pipes and trumpets. They seem to have a sacred sound and a sacred geometry in their design.

This is a very old organ from the 1880's. I didn't know the big churches had them They must have been hand pumped. This old organ has a very sweet sound. I never heard a pipe organ until 1947!

Having walked the Gettysburg Battlefield, I will always think of heroic actions by Groups like the 20th Maine under Chamberlain or Buford's Cavalry guys as well as all the Pennsylvania Militia that rose up and helped until the bulk of the union army came up. Chattel slavery had to end. Now we have to kill wage slavery and the Federal Reserve/modern banking enslavement debt system. This song is by nature an activist's.

Chris Fleischer just let you know Chris, I did not mean I was at that battle. I have been on a couple of historic battlefields doing research though, this song makes me think of the civil war guys and what they accomplished.
