yep the handling definitely looks better than the original U2, not so far from the usual but it seems have more grip and the sense of speed is quite faster too
For me the peak handling in the NFS history is Carbon, the differences between car classes is great though it may be a bit over the top. And as far as these remasters etc go this is the way to do it, making it sharper while keeping the original vibe. Also that Navigator is big pimpin’

If EA sues and forces the removal of this NFSU2 remake game, I hope the creators of this NFSU2 remake will develop their own version of an NFS game, and I would gladly buy it. NFS nowadays is not as iconic as NFSU2 and Most Wanted, which is such a shame.

the Asphalt and the cars looks much better but i like original sky and trees , also the original looks shinier and brighter , in addition to that if they can make edges more rounded then it will be Amazing , over all i think they did a good job hope they keep working on this remake .
Я надеюсь, что когда авторы ремейка доберутся до воплощения битвы с Калебом, они значительно усложнят ее, и они также вроде как писали в своём Дискорд канале, что, возможно, немного изменят сюжет./I hope that when the remake authors get to the embodiment of the battle with Caleb, they will significantly complicate it, and they also kind of stated on their discord channel that they might change the plot a little.
As for the music, just provide an instructions to extract the music from the original game. That way the creator can free themselves from the legal burden because you need to own the game first to have the music. I've done it in the past and the songs will be extracted as WAV files. Cars can be replaced with the debadged version or a custom version.
The remake does look crisper. But it doesn't match the original's style. So there's a bit of tradeoff there. But that's just the looks, how it plays, well, watching a video won't really convey that.
I so so hope EA just ignores this project and leaves it be not pulling a R*. Remember how R* decided to be scum of Earth and take down tens of huge GTA mods across all games, huge projects with a huge amount of work, time and effort put behind all wasted? EA doesn't have much respect from anyone anymore but i swear they'll lose that tiny amount left if they do. Also yeah i think making a way that this project has all except music in it(car manufacturers are jerks but usually they don't go out of their way to sue, music artists do) would be awsome, just make it so it has no music BUT we the community can through personal ways that no1 should know about get a hold of the music and put it in there, say we "take it from the original game" cuz you know we own that and all that? ;) Regardless EA and the car manufacturers may or may not go after this, music artists will 100% do it so having a way to distribute the project without the music and have that be added by each user in particular would probably give some cover to the team behind this, i wish them only the best and i hope this project gets completely finished without issues and no issues afterwards either.
Music artists/industry sue when you are making money out of their intellectual properties - for this one the worst that they can do is ask for their songs to be removed, I find it unlikely though.
@@madhunter6420 That's exactly my point. The very worst that can happen is some artist ask for their song to be removed from the project and that is extremely unlikely. Raising a subject like that in the video is quite weird, since the project is made for profit. Unless EA....
I think the reason why I think the developers of this project are untouchable is because NFSU2 is abandonware. It’s not protected by copyright since EA is known for not trying to preserve their older games and the other reason is that the developers are as far as I’m aware Russian and not American or Western European. Shame since I can see games like NFSMW selling well if they bothered to republish it.
They should simply remove the songs and just have a folder in the game where you can pout your own MP3 :) And for the cars, just remove the brand names and use mock-up names like "Gulf" or "Peujot"
You wanna know why you're having trouble seeing the difference between the original and the remade versions?? It's because these guys deliberately made sure to make certain details look low-poly. For example, look at the lane-divider lines on the road, they're not smoothly curved, they're straight lines joining at an angle to give the impression of the lines bending like in the original game.
@ yt pages that cover passion projects such as these build up hype around it, these content creators are sometimes sponsored implying that publishing/dev companies watch these videos and thats when legal departments get involved, its the reason so many projects never released. due to DMCA, like the H2M mod for cod, gta united mod , etc theres so many projects that never saw the light of day because of content creators bringing too much attention to projects
@@BlackPanthaadelete the video its not too late, you have 2m subs and most likely theyre all going to spread the news and that poor guys project discord is going to get flooded

I have a licenced copy of Underground 1, my uncle gifted it to me at 2011. I played it a lot on our family's Windows XP PC, but I tried it with my modern W10 PC last month but it didn't work. I had to pirate the game. I don't know if I did something wrong with the original instalation, but sometimes compatibility can be an issue at old games, at least in my experience.
i do like it, it kind of makes it look like most wanted graphics, i feel much as i would love the music just give us a folder where we can put the music in our selfs, just so you dont have them in the files, or at least make it so people would have to find a copy of the game and input your updated files, i hope its not another kotor where it gets hype around it and EA or who ever goes after them to shut it down
Right, about the 6-minute-in-talk; EA or Sony shouldn't do anything because this is a free software, if you don't sell anything - you shouldn't have any problems. The creator remade all physics as you mentioned. Same goes for the soundtrack, it's only sharing without financial benefit. Now, if Sony or EA would do something about it, then all the car, music, wheel, performance parts, and car audio part manufacturers could also "join the game" - and ask for the creators to buy the licenses of their models. PS: I would never compare the graphics from an older game to the 20-year-after-rework. Although I do like the new remake's graphics, I wouldn't necessarily say I like 'em better than the original. PPSS: I am a proud owner of 3 Z-2300's, and 2 Z-5500's, each an amazing type of earth-shaking THX certified speaker systems. From what I could hear, my almost stock sx240 sounds better at lower RPM's, than a fully tunned any other car on the new version, simply because the new version lacks lower frequencies.
Well, if they straight up just do a remake then this won't go far, they need to do their own thing, have some stuff similar to underground and since they did their own code for the handling they can still use it.
11:01 all these hours of nfsu2 flashing in front of my eyes. It‘s hurting me that you‘re installing all 3 nitrous packages while it‘s clearly only 1 Item.
It would be desirable if all companies that display their logos and products in the game would provide funding. Burger King is already an example of such support. FIFA has also already integrated companies that advertise their products into the game. It should be an unobtrusive gimmick and not intrusive advertising as is already the case with UA-cam ads before videos, Every single decal, electronics provider, tire manufacturer, exhaust manufacturer, wheel manufacturer, etc. I'm not always sure I fully understand the advertising policy. If someone designs something and makes other brand names look good without permission, they get sued. If a game developer says, “We'll make a deal. You pay us a lot of money for advertising space and we'll implement it,” then companies are happy to spend money on it. In any case, I would be happy to support this idea in good conscience if I see advertising and it makes the game look more realistic. But in such a way that it is only incidental and never forced.
They should go full CarX and just take off all the car logos and rename them, use noncopyrighted music and use AI for voices in the career with different names.
There is no way the auto industry is scummier than the video games industry. I mean, they're not saints but next to the likes of EA, Activision etc they're poodles.
8:12 That RX-7 should have twin-turbo. STOCK There are cars in this demo that doesn't have the turbo as standard. Unless it's the GT-R. 9:45 see? Base vanilla game has it right.
I've not seen a comment like this yet so I'll just speak and ramble with my mind. First of all, I love the project. I hope alot of people that haven't grown up with this game get the chance to feel the same kinda magic. BUT - of course there is a but - why the fuck are we taking away any of the OG Games Charm. The remake and re-interpret the game and they make a great job at doing so BUT - theres the but again - if you slap on a widescreen hd patch on Underground 2 its a game that easily passes all vibe checks. You dont need to remake a game that still holds up. I love it, but we dont need it. Instead of making the game look cleaner for modern standards, gimme a mod where I can drive around the map (races are nice but not needed) with my friends. All of my friends, im born in 2000, that played Underground 1 and 2 dont want a remake or remaster. We just wanna play the game together. Dont hold on to the past for too long, celebrate Unbound and Heat for what they are great at and stop chasing a nostaglic feeling. BUT - ofc there is another but - if the developers of this remake enjoy doing their work and there are people that are enjoying their work please keep doing what you are doing. We are in a time where good racing games are very niche or rare, I just hope everyone is having fun. We are in a good time for racing tho, visit old games and play them, i do so every year but dont neglect good modern shit.

7:24 How it should be vs 7:30 How it will actually be
EDIT. Damn i really like this handling, there is some bugs(Like slip too much at low speed) but it would be nice base for future NFS Handling, but yeah we can only dream about it
this is a good example of how remake's or remasters should be done (mostly remakes). even tho this is not complete, the stuff the guy is done is really really good.
AND OBVIOUSLY THEY DIDNT TAKE ANY MODELS OR SONGS FROM ORIGINAL GAME IM PRETTY SURE THEY MADE IT FROM SCRATCH
yep the handling definitely looks better than the original U2, not so far from the usual but it seems have more grip and the sense of speed is quite faster too
You could be right but I still think the sense of speed in the original game is still pretty good.
like how someone brought back NFSW (need for speed world)
The dev may create a challenge for Suno AI users to make a whole new, but still UG2 style soundtrack. I'd be in totally.
For me the peak handling in the NFS history is Carbon, the differences between car classes is great though it may be a bit over the top. And as far as these remasters etc go this is the way to do it, making it sharper while keeping the original vibe. Also that Navigator is big pimpin’
carbon handling is shit. especially drift
Finally THEO! I did a playthrough of the original and right when i finished it, this released, i looks so amazing when you have seen both side by side.
I feel like if they added RTX(as covered in a previous vid) with said remix it would look more like a legitimate remake.
If EA sues and forces the removal of this NFSU2 remake game, I hope the creators of this NFSU2 remake will develop their own version of an NFS game, and I would gladly buy it.
NFS nowadays is not as iconic as NFSU2 and Most Wanted, which is such a shame.
You never played the oldschool NFS games, you fake fan
I don't care about what you're saying, bro 😂 The first NFS game I played was NFS Underground, NFSU2, Most Wanted, Carbon, ProStreet, NFS Most Wanted 2015, NFS 2015, Heat, and Unbound.@@randomdriver6761
@randomdriver6761 I don't care about what you're saying, bro. The first NFS game I played was NFS Underground, NFSU2, Most Wanted, Carbon, ProStreet, NFS Most Wanted 2015, NFS 2015, Heat, and Unbound.
mw2015? WTF
they had a GTA SA project before and got canceled right before. sooo...
the Asphalt and the cars looks much better but i like original sky and trees , also the original looks shinier and brighter , in addition to that if they can make edges more rounded then it will be Amazing , over all i think they did a good job hope they keep working on this remake .
Also yeah i think making a way that this project has all except music in it(car manufacturers are jerks but usually they don't go out of their way to sue, music artists do) would be awsome, just make it so it has no music BUT we the community can through personal ways that no1 should know about get a hold of the music and put it in there, say we "take it from the original game" cuz you know we own that and all that? ;)
Regardless EA and the car manufacturers may or may not go after this, music artists will 100% do it so having a way to distribute the project without the music and have that be added by each user in particular would probably give some cover to the team behind this, i wish them only the best and i hope this project gets completely finished without issues and no issues afterwards either.
Music artists/industry sue when you are making money out of their intellectual properties - for this one the worst that they can do is ask for their songs to be removed, I find it unlikely though.
I hope it doesn't and they aren't profiting off of it so I don't think it will.
@@JonDMK_13 but this project isnt making money
They should simply remove the songs and just have a folder in the game where you can pout your own MP3 :)
And for the cars, just remove the brand names and use mock-up names like "Gulf" or "Peujot"
I remember my lil' cousin had this the same year it was released, but on the original Xbox.
Finally a mod that doesn't kill the vibe.
Can't wait for the finished version!
its a standalone remake.
0:48 ngl the pixeleated 2D tree going past the wet road looks even worse than just poor 3d models of the original
stop bringing attention to this project and it'll come out. simple. content creators are always the blame for why these projects get shut down
Elaborate
💀 can't win with people like this
@ yt pages that cover passion projects such as these build up hype around it, these content creators are sometimes sponsored implying that publishing/dev companies watch these videos and thats when legal departments get involved, its the reason so many projects never released. due to DMCA, like the H2M mod for cod, gta united mod , etc theres so many projects that never saw the light of day because of content creators bringing too much attention to projects
@@crispychrispgaming9261too much attention to the project, from devs and publishers. wont be surprised if this gets DMCA’d
@@BlackPanthaadelete the video its not too late, you have 2m subs and most likely theyre all going to spread the news and that poor guys project discord is going to get flooded
The handling actually feels amazing on this
Criterion should pay them for the files, work on it a little them selves and then get the rights to most the of soundtrack and release it! Most these car brands are in nfs unbound now
I have a licenced copy of Underground 1, my uncle gifted it to me at 2011. I played it a lot on our family's Windows XP PC, but I tried it with my modern W10 PC last month but it didn't work. I had to pirate the game. I don't know if I did something wrong with the original instalation, but sometimes compatibility can be an issue at old games, at least in my experience.
They have fixes for it and I played it a while back on W11 PC
i do like it, it kind of makes it look like most wanted graphics, i feel much as i would love the music just give us a folder where we can put the music in our selfs, just so you dont have them in the files, or at least make it so people would have to find a copy of the game and input your updated files, i hope its not another kotor where it gets hype around it and EA or who ever goes after them to shut it down
Great job porting it to Unreal 5.
Reactor was unable to report it on modern hardware.
If you own the original Disk, you can run this legal !
here's a damn idea theo, tell em to add spotify linkup api in the game, so we can link up our accounts n play the NFS U2 playlist.
Right, about the 6-minute-in-talk;
EA or Sony shouldn't do anything because this is a free software, if you don't sell anything - you shouldn't have any problems.
This is how I remember Underground 2 for some reason :D
11:01 all these hours of nfsu2 flashing in front of my eyes. It‘s hurting me that you‘re installing all 3 nitrous packages while it‘s clearly only 1 Item.
It would be desirable if all companies that display their logos and products in the game would provide funding. Burger King is already an example of such support. FIFA has also already integrated companies that advertise their products into the game.
It should be an unobtrusive gimmick and not intrusive advertising as is already the case with UA-cam ads before videos,
Every single decal, electronics provider, tire manufacturer, exhaust manufacturer, wheel manufacturer, etc.
How does one butcher that beautiful skyline sound 😢
They should go full CarX and just take off all the car logos and rename them, use noncopyrighted music and use AI for voices in the career with different names.
There is no way the auto industry is scummier than the video games industry. I mean, they're not saints but next to the likes of EA, Activision etc they're poodles.
8:12 That RX-7 should have twin-turbo. STOCK
There are cars in this demo that doesn't have the turbo as standard.
Great video.
Just like you I'm a bit worried. I wish they implemented it like underground2net did (I also wish you gave it the same kind of love but that's another story) instead.
But I also get why it may be not possible given the fundamental changes they're making.
They better make the nos taillights blur better just seems like some sticks spawn. Other then that it looking realllll good and here me still playing this game on my PS2.
finally.. been waiting for your vid
I admire the dedication to this recreation but I simply prefer the original and the feel that game brings.
it loks better but why they cant do the lines on the rod like in real life, it is small detail but
I love the underground series always been a special part of my childhood
PlayStation controllers (well, at least DS4) seem to work just fine with DS4Windows which turns the controller basically into X360 controller.
the controllers work fine in modern windows even without them if you pop a game into steam and use steam input if they they don't have ps4 controller support. also when a ps4 controller is on and plugged in with a cable you can hold start and select (screenshot) and it will switch over to the xbox standard
What about all aftermarket parts and decals? Is that also risky?
The og no hesi and honestly probably its birth place
Where can ı find it and download it??
You been living under a rock malaka?
Nope, was one of the first to cover it in like 2022!
If you know that this is maebe a problem why make a video about it . Its crazy
Ok so you wouldn't know this without the right size screen. But i wonder if it converts to 5120x1440 resolution for a 49" curved asus??
I think because it's classed as a mod I think they will be fine I could be wrong.
PSA:
Its not the game. TUFU is just a free mode to showcase the look of the game. IMO, ITS BADASS
Insert the Don't give me hope gif
the skyline needs to be more flat like the original
Will never get tired of NFSU content
