Did you set your gain to -12? Or what did you set it to?
Yes I did, I just wish it went lower as I feel it’s still a little high when using in the helmet. Hope that helps buddy 👍
And which place will you choose to place mic if you have helmet without plexi only with enduro googles?
And another question - is it possible to connect to the camera (Action 5) Dji Mic Mini and Dji Mic 2? Cause I have Action 5 and Dji Mic 2 set. And Im riding hard enduro with dualsport helmet. And Im thinking about buying single Mic mini only for helmet 🙂
Hey buddy, I guess with Googles, I would try the band that wraps around the helmet as close as you can to the front. But not sure that would work 😬
I don’t think it’s possible to connect both Mics. I would connect the Mic Mini to the camera and use the internal recording capabilities of the Mic 2 if you’re trying to capture audio sources. That’s why the Mic 2 is so good, plus the 32 bit float option too.

@Pulse8Reviews Well I think with my helmet setup is the best choice to put mic in front of mouth with dead cat. Didnt find better solution. 🙂
And for the combo Mic 2 & Mic Mini. Would you able to test this for me? Cause you know.. I just want to save my audio line directly in to video to avoid sound syncing
That sounds like a good idea to put it at the lower front. I see what I can do today and find out if you can sync tow Mics, it be cool if you can 👌
Buddy, you can connect two Mics to the Action 5 Pro, either both minis, or a mini and Mic 2 🙌
It sounds to me that this placement of Mic mini in the helmet records a "boxy" sound... it is far away from the mouth and it captures the sound of the whole free space inside the helmet. Furthermore you can't use this placement with open visor.
Does anybody agree with me or am I wrong?

I agree, it’s too far away for my liking, I’d prefer it next to my mouth, but it wouldn’t fit. Also agree on an open visor it wouldn’t work, but then again, many mics won’t and you’d have to go with something with a large dead cat to reduce the wind. I’m glad you liked the video, this was my first ever attempt at motovlogging.
I’d like to do more when the summer arrives with different setups with Insta360, GoPro and try and find the best way possible 👍
@Pulse8Reviews Great! I'm still testing to find the best settings and placement. But it's also depends from the helmet and the wind protection of the motorcycle's fairing...
Just curious what are the benefits using the DJI mini mic versus a wired lavalier, especially while using on- DJI action cameras?
For me, it’s the fact that the mic isn’t wired into the crash helmet, allowing for more flexibility with sound design. For example recording without the helmet on, parts of the bike and so on. I also think it’s less fussy 👍
Does the noise cancellation works better out of the box than premiere's essential sounds presets?
I’m not sure buddy as I’m a FCPX user. My guess is that having it on and then adding your settings will no doubt help. You heard the audio when it was switched off 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for your video sir. I really enjoyed watching it. I am using the Gopro Hero 11 with the same Dji Mic Mini. Is there a specific setting that I need to put my mic on to get this clear audio. Cause I rode my motorcycle yesterday and the audio was terrible. Very distorted. I did not like it. I am not sure why though. I am trying to figure it out. Are you using the Mic in mono? Noise Cancelation On or Off? What is your Gain level. Thats sorta what I am trying to figure out. Thanks.
You’re welcome buddy. The mic is set on mono, with the gain set to as low as possible, noice cancelling to max. This is all set through the Action 5 Pro, so not sure on a Go Pro. Does that help?
@ In some ways it did help. I dont have the Action 5. But I am about to get it. Does the Action 5 work with the same docking hardware that gopro be using. like the mounts and stuff?

Now I own both DJI mics, and been a naughty boy 😂 i also just received the Ace Pro 2 for the exact reason you stated in this video.
Now I really need to get the sound quality settings dialed in. I picked up the combo bundle.
That’s exactly the sound problem I have without the box 📦 setting, which I am trying to solve 👊
Now need to figure out the settings and I will be golden for my bike content planned.

@ I’m working on it that’s for sure 😂 and i couldn’t resist it even though i initially ordered the Ace Pro 2 on launch and never got it so I cancelled it. Then got an email with a flash sale add I was like ahhhh get it 😂 and the rest is history 😂
I still love my dji action 5 and pocket 3 and and and 😂 never ending story 😂
I’ve been there many times. I love them too, so am wondering how the Ace 2 will match up. The Never Ending 🤣🤣
