Lecture 15 - Signal Detection Theory

In last lecture we talked about threshold determination. What if, we don't need to determine threshold, and our sensory experiences primarily works on evidence and decision processes. Signal Detection Theory (SDT) is all about that. It takes into account both the sensitivity of the observer, the evidence provided by the stimulus, and the decision processes. It offers something that the classical psycho-physical methods doesn't, is that, it helps us to understand the decision making process of experiencing and reporting sensations.
