I've been listening to Millie since the 70s. I'm old, white and Scottish but her music touched me like no other. Thank you Millie for years of your beautiful music x
@@willemjack7091 I agree ,she doesn't I met her in 1978 with my son, who was 13 at the time. Her warmth to everyone was beautiful. She took a shine to my son and said she had a child the same age( must have been her daughter) spoke to him for age's. I've always been a great Millie Jackson fan.up to this day. ( And converted a few) There will never be another Millie Jackson.💕
Had no business singing this at age 10, but here i am at 19 still singing it like it's 2012 😂.. Some good old music was made before I was born thanks to the legends🥰🥰🥰
I'm still listening in 2023! Started listening to Millie's music way back in the 80's . I love the message in her music...love her voice as well!! I will listen to her music until the end of the road!!
Still listening at 2024, knows about Millie since in Nigeria as a child late 70 to 80’s Then my teenage sister and cousins used to play her all the time.
This song is touching. When I was a kid, my late cousin Janice Beckett would listen to this while staying over my mom's house. At the time, I would cuddle with her as a kid, as I was her favorite little cousin and she was mine. Little did I know, she was dying of kidney disease but she would always stay positive. This song was sad back then but it reminded me so much of her. She lost her battle and I could never find this song, (and only remembered a little part of it's lyrics) or any rendition of it until I heard the late Dobie Gray's version, then the search continued and I was able to find it in this day and time. Glad that over 40 years later, I got it! Didn't even know it was Millie Jackson.
Always loved Elvis' version of this song. His version is so strong - you can hear the despair and sadness in his voice. But just discovered Ms Jackson's rendition. Really like Ms Jackson's version too. Her voice is much like Gladys Knight's voice. Love it!
Ms. Millie Jackson 2022 is still💯 prevalent in my life!!! She's part of my musical 🎶playlist of Life They don't do it like this anymore. 🎵What a story teller with a voice that makes you sit up and take notice.Thank You Ms Millie 💜😘🙏✌️

I was introduced to Millue Jackson and most especially her soul full music by my late sister in 1979. I gravitated to her take on soul music because of her passion. She makes sweet music.
I have listened to this song more than any other song in my entire lifetime! Over and over and over...Actually, along with the second track "Making The Best Of A Bad Situation" they got me through many, many days and road trips alone blasting Millie. My absolute favorite!! They were the theme for my life. I stood in line at at record store in Akron, Ohio back in 1977 to have her sign my album. Being a teenage white girl back then none of my friends had a clue who she was, but my college best friend had introduced me to her music and it resonated with and still does to this day.
