The first Abyss fight wasn't optimal. Causing one to trigger with full health wasn't a smart decision.
5000 orb and 4000 stylish points requirements. Orbs are easy, just as long as you finish the Abyss' (Abysi?) stylishly. I even ignore several drops. Stylish points though...I know Arkham's Legions can influence your average, but I don't know in what way. Best to put effort on the Abyss (Abysses?) since they aren't too difficult to manage. Don't mess around and Real Impact them.
Now for Arkham. With Vergil, holding lock on and shoot in the air makes him do a Killer Bee. To keep offensive pressure and keep me safe, I won't hover with Spiral/KA. Same goes for ground play. Lock on, forward/back, shoot will have him perform a Rapid Slash/Upper Slash, respectively. No direction will prompt his regular Yamato combo. These are great strategies to use while walking around the Legions and shooting Spiral from afar.
And how about Vergil taking the arm swipe at the last wave? Clutch save!

I used to think the hate for Arkham was overblown because on normal its an easy fight. Then I fought him on hard. Then very hard. And now dmd. And I can safely say he is for sure worse than gigapede and geryon. Awful boss that only gets a pass bc virgil is right after. If dmc3 ended with this it would be remembered only half as well
You cant use DT and Trickster when fighthing with vergil....thats mean no RG SM GS
on hard he was still pretty easy but then you go very hard and he’s complete bullshit worthless boss
On dmd arkham can 1 shot or 2 shot you
After all these years, watching you fight Arkham... makes me want to continue never playing this game again.
For years prior to my first SS run, I only found sustenance in missions 1 and 2. And like a gaping butthole that was losing sensation to the average cock, I went looking for a bigger, thicker, sweeter, and juicier cock to ram in my hole. Being overzealous in my search to feel tenderness, I found that throbbing cock. And that dong had me thinking, "Is this what I really want? I remember I used to watch your old videos when DMC3 just came out and you were such a god to me because of your skill and knowledge of the game. Now I used to make SS in the PS4 version to every mission except this one because Arkham and his legions are literally garbage and unpredictable but I'm going to continue until I'll make it. Anyway, I really have to thank you, you were an inspiration for me in DMC3 back in the days and still are nowadays. Keepin' it stylish :D

I remember when I finally completed this on DMD, I got Arkham down to half his health but just couldn’t manage it without dt or any style. I had to wait like 2 days (my Ps2 on the entire time) for a friend to be free and play as Vergil and spam stinger.
I wish I’d thought of using gunshots to lock Dante’s position while spamming stinger with Vergil. Genius!

I must say, this is really cool. I'm currently doing just a standard S rank run of this game on dmd and some of these missions are absolute hell. I don't event want to imagine how hard doing an SS run is. GG man.

@@DevilMayAsian it was DMD, but I got it after 5-10-15 attempts, same goes for m20. It took me a while but I got it SS on DMD :)

This is my last mission. You make it seem pretty possible. I'm doing it on the switch edition, so I think I might be able to do it after watching this.
Dude, if I had the ability to switch between Swordmaster, Trickster, and Quicksilver when I did this run, I'd have completed this run in no time. Kids these days don't know how good they got it now!

May I ask what your weapon and style scheme is for Arkham? And your general strategy?

Guns: Ebony & Ivory and Kalina Ann
Style: Swordmaster
My strategy was basically going at him while avoiding his attacks as much as possible. I also went into Devil Trigger as soon as the bar was full.
@@everoposuo oh dude, get rid of swordmaster. Aerial Rave might be beneficial, but Sky Dance, Dance Macabre, and Tempest won't do much for you against his legions and preventing his tentacle attack. Those will leave you wide open for attacks. Even if you had Beowulf, Real Impact's allow charge up is dangerous on Arkham.
Ditch Swordmaster, take up Trickster, and that'll steer you I the right direction. I'd also advocate ditching E&I. Hell, Artemis has a legit argument against the legions.

had to use items on Arkham and Vergil last battle...on Hard. Maybe it's better to stock ALL the items to max before attempting, i still can't find a way to be untouched and those angels takes forever to die.
The Second Arkham part is literal bullshit if you ask me

It’s surprisingly good for crowd control and style points on the eels-if you can get Jam Session to go off consistently.

Ugh, this was like a headache that knocks you out for 3 days straight. Dealing with those legions without trickster is such a pain in the ass. I swear i still feel like there's not a single safe moment to shoot kalina ann when those things are around. I used Vergil as a shield and hoped for the best.
Not to mention that they don't give you much time to deal with Arkham's bullshit. So many missions give you like 20+ minutes for an S when you can easily do it in under 10 without rushing. But of course you gotta do the boss that takes 25 years to die and is full of rng and bullshit quickly. 16 minutes for this fight felt like i was depending more on getting lucky than playing effectively, which is exactly what happened. During phase 2 i got really lucky and Arkham kept there forever, which allowed me (well, Vergil actually) to deal a lot of damage. Ended up playing really risky during phase 1 to get it over quickly. Finished it with 15 minutes, feels like it shouldn't take this long.
But oh well, it's finally done and now i just gotta deal with Vergil 3 to be able to say that i officially conquered DMC3. Between, your playstyle is very simillar to mine, your videos were a huge help in this challenge, especially when XLHGladiator proved to be good for me to replicate certain strategies, lol.
Using Vergil as a shield AND damage source is probably the idea that gets lost on people. Its why I sub out E&I for Spiral/KA. I don't want to risk hovering in the air while his tentacles are coming at me. Its a tough fucking fight. Congrats on your no damage completion! Mission 20 is cake after 19. ;)
@@DevilMayAsian Thanks! Yeah, i realized that Vergil can be pretty useful, but you need to know how to properly use him. Making him attack while you're on air helps a lot. At least the fight that comes right after more than makes up for it.

I am attempting a Rank S playthrough for Dmd. I even used Super Dante on some occassion and I had missions 1-18 at Rank S or Ss. But then this mission frustrates me. I had the same strat of using Kalina and Spiral even in Very hard but Dmd is even worse. I just used Holy water and landed myself at rank A. This is the worst designed boss fight in all of dmc because not only is the boss boring but because the 2nd phase prevents style and DT usage which doesn't make sense.

Taking notes from this video to beat this boss on Very Hard, how do you instantly escape the grabs like that? Normally it takes me a moment to get vergil to come to my aid.
When Akrham grabs Dante, I usually have Vergil right next to Arkham. Its just how it works out when I melee Arkham. It's as simple as spamming either the melee or gun button to get Vergil to do a quick slash and free Dante up. If your Vergil is not next to Arkham when Dante is grabbed, try to remedy that. Staying locked on will usually take care of that.

It's called a transformation flux or a DTE (Devil Trigger Explosion), just hold down the DT button and you'll notice the gauge is glowing, the more circles of the gauge are glowing the higher the damage when releasing the DT button.
I kind of feel bad for using super dante to complete dmd

With Arkham, it's all about knowing when to attack and pulling your punches. His eels and Legions....well, yeah. They're serious.
@@DevilMayAsian although I do believe final vergil is harder, I would rather fight him than fight arkham, very tedious second part too, most of the time I basically had to use vergil as my main damage source and spam my sniper, idk man, still this vid helped
@@hayabuzon8219 i mean, you work with what you got. With Vergil bashing away, that triggers Arkham to send his eels out. If you wanted to be proper about it, when his animation pops, you'll Killer Bee away from him and have Vergil Tricked to you. That would prevent the eel attack, but I prefer having Vergil spam attacks while I dodge eels. I don't think it's the best method, but it's the one that works best with me. But if it's done, it's done! Glad to hear the video helped you out!
