Clarkson is easily one of the best television presenters out there. He also has very good people around him. It's pretty clear that editing is a considerable portion of the show, but even his non-car related pieces (e.g. War Stories) are put together and presented in superior fashon.

I dunno about you guys, but I like Clarkson's idea of the car chase better. This is what he's going for, I know, but even so, I think it's more realistic: not GTA levels of insanity, which is what I'd imagine, Hammond was after.
No one’s gonna disagree with you there mate. Some of the best car chases were just silent with little dialogue, but lots of engine noise, like Bullitt, Ronin, Dark Knight, the Italian Job, French Connection, To Live and Die in L.A., and Blues Brothers
These guys understand TV entertainment like no other... just brilliant.

This jag was repaired and put back on the road. It's still going now, taxed and mot'd with only 23000 miles on it. So it seems after it's abused beginning, it's been treated to a rather more pampered life going forward.

This was the first Top Gear episode which made me laugh so hard my head got sore and had tears in my eyes.been watching a repeat on TV (Dave obviously) and just had to watch again here.always wondered how much of what Jeremy says about Winston almost being killed by Hammond's ridiculous caravan explosion was actually true....?

I saw the film the other day and all I could think of during the chase scene was "turn off the traction control" every time they went round a corner.
Looking back, Top Gear could probably match the budget of the film for this episode.
