The fetishization is so freaking true. I'm Black, so I can only speak from perspective, but it's crazy how so many POC will be generalized these days. I see so many comments (especially on UA-cam and Tik Tok) pushing this idea of cuteness onto many members of the Asian community or comparing them to K pop stars for no reason other than they're Asian. Or I see people fetishize Black men saying they can't wait to have a BBC in them. Or people saying "they want a big booty Latina". Huh??? The fact that fetishization is so normalized these days is maddening because some people don't even consider it a form of racism."It's a compliment" WHAT??? It's also so internalized that when you call people out for it they don't even want to admit what they're saying is wrong and damaging.
I have a friend who says stuff like that to particularly Asians because we listen to kpop and it makes me want to drop her sometimes because of the weird things she says.

i as an indian feel like so many people act as if india isn’t part of asia, they will also mock indian culture (accent,clothing,food,language,…) and just make fun of it. thank u so much, love u
Im Indian too, and it’s just so confusing how people don’t know that India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and so many more countries are a part of Asia. Mocking Indian culture isn’t funny, it makes you look dumb. Oh and, are you aware of that one k-pop artist who did a very sensual dance on GAYATRI MANTRA. Yes our very sacred prayer that most of us say before going to sleep, or even going somewhere important. I think that many people think of Indians as naïve people. No, we are not naïve. So many white UA-camrs mention India or make a whole video on India just for the sake of views. If you want to make Indians feel appreciated, educate yourself on the culture first.

speaking of stereotyping all asians as one ethnicity, there was a dark skinned thai/filipino girl in one of my classes last year and we were talking about this korean artwork and the teacher kept asking this one girl all these questions about it. someone said 'why are you asking [girl's name] all these questions? she isn't korean' and the teacher was like 'oh well she's chinese so I thought she might know'. the girl says she's not chinese and the teacher says 'oh um sorry japanese'. the girl is like no I'm not japanese either and the teacher just went 'umm anyway it's asian artwork' like please just stfu

my mum walked in while i was watching this video and asked if i was on facetime with a friend when she saw you on the screen and i replied 'sort of, yeah'. it was nice to feel less alone while watching this video since i've been going through some struggles with finding my place in my friendship group recently and realising that someone i thought was one of my closest friends actually doesn't really care that much about my feelings. thank you so much for making myself and others feel less alone and giving us an opportunity to unwind and forget about stuff for a while whilst giving us advice along the way. i can't thank you enough, honestly.

I’m 21 as well and I used to feel bad for not living this cool 20-something party lifestyle and meeting new friends every week, but I recently realised that this lifestyle isn’t even what I want. I prefer a very calm life, meeting my few good friends, and maybe going to 2 or 3 parties in summer, but honestly I can’t wait to settle down, have a family, a few cats and a very ordinary life altogether. It’s okay to have a life’s dream others would consider lazy or boring ✨

18:41 this is where i am right now, i don't have the best gpa, i'm graduating high school next week and honestly i feel like i failed myself on many levels. I've been seeing my peers getting accepted to colleges this whole month, even the minor/not so cool colleges. While the more time that goes by i feel like i'm gonna be left behind and at times i try to keep myself up and leave it up to God wherever He leads me. But sometimes it's too much for me to handle, because i really do care about my education, and i don't want to be that one person that gets left in the dust after years of trying my best to be good academically. I just read you comment and as a 24 year old I can assure you that God works in mysterious ways😋 ever since I started high school I had tunnel vision to move to Japan in 2022 but last October I asked God what His plan was for me and Japan was definitely not it for now. Instead I'm going to study for my bachelor's this year after finishing my vocational studies two years ago. I never could've imagined myself on this path in life and after many gap years God is slowly revealing my path. Be patient, ask God, and know that you will always end up where you need to be. For some reason, it's like I've been wanting to do things to make me feel good about myself. Like, I want to lose weight, so I can be happy with my body. However, it's like, I don't know where to start, or when to get started on that. Everytime I wanna love myself, I always end up in the same insecure place. I’m not a comment person, but can I just say that you have been a huge inspiration to me for such a long time. I have been watching you since your high school days (I still wear the necklace with my name on it almost daily that you used to sell) and you have always been so inspiring to me. I think you are a beautiful person inside and out and consuming your content always lifts up my mood. Since we’re opening up for girl talk; We’re the same age and a lot of time I find myself comparing myself to people I love, like you and other content creators, and find myself sad. I’ll never be as cool as them or as stylish or put together, or wishing I had actually invested into creating like you when I was younger and wanted to. But then I remind myself that social media isn’t always real life and usually only shows the nice things. And then I find myself really inspired to create the life that I want and be the person I want to be. There are set backs and I constantly have to remind myself that it’s never too late to start doing the things that I want to do, or to try new things. (I hate the pressure that society puts on us that there is an age limit to things. I’m only 21 why do I feel like its too late to start things like this?) But in the end, seeing your content always reminds me that I can do whatever I put my mind to and that I should never give up on doing the things that I want to do. So, thank you for that

18:41 this is where i am right now, i don't have the best gpa, i'm graduating high school next week and honestly i feel like i failed myself on many levels. I've been seeing my peers getting accepted to colleges this whole month, even the minor/not so cool colleges. While the more time that goes by i feel like i'm gonna be left behind and at times i try to keep myself up and leave it up to God wherever He leads me. But sometimes it's too much for me to handle, because i really do care about my education, and i don't want to be that one person that gets left in the dust after years of trying my best to be good academically. It hurts to think about and not thinking about it doesn't really get me anywhere. I love you for this, thank you for your comforting words. God bless you💕
Hi! I just read you comment and as a 24 year old I can assure you that God works in mysterious ways😋 ever since I started high school I had tunnel vision to move to Japan in 2022 but last October I asked God what His plan was for me and Japan was definitely not it for now. Instead I'm going to study for my bachelor's this year after finishing my vocational studies two years ago. I never could've imagined myself on this path in life and after many gap years God is slowly revealing my path. Be patient, ask God, and know that you will always end up where you need to be. ok, but like I feel this so much -- the way that numbers mess with your head and you want to grow faster the way that you see some other people do but it doesn't work like that. comparison really is the thief of joy. even now, having been really sick yesterday and today, now that I'm feeling a bit better, my mind is like 'you gotta work, you should do this and that, that might help your channel or whatever' and like I wish we could all break this toxic cycle

For some reason, it's like I've been wanting to do things to make me feel good about myself. Like, I want to lose weight, so I can be happy with my body. However, it's like, I don't know where to start, or when to get started on that. Everytime I wanna love myself, I always end up in the same insecure place. I am a person who has been insecure for multiple years, but I never realized it until the pandemic came around.

I’m not a comment person, but can I just say that you have been a huge inspiration to me for such a long time.
I have been watching you since your high school days (I still wear the necklace with my name on it almost daily that you used to sell) and you have always been so inspiring to me. I think you are a beautiful person inside and out and consuming your content always lifts up my mood.
Since we’re opening up for girl talk; We’re the same age and a lot of time I find myself comparing myself to people I love, like you and other content creators, and find myself sad. I’ll never be as cool as them or as stylish or put together, or wishing I had actually invested into creating like you when I was younger and wanted to. But then I remind myself that social media isn’t always real life and usually only shows the nice things. And then I find myself really inspired to create the life that I want and be the person I want to be. There are set backs and I constantly have to remind myself that it’s never too late to start doing the things that I want to do, or to try new things. (I hate the pressure that society puts on us that there is an age limit to things. I’m only 21 why do I feel like its too late to start things like this?) But in the end, seeing your content always reminds me that I can do whatever I put my mind to and that I should never give up on doing the things that I want to do. So, thank you for that
