Haha thanks for watching! Mitch HATES playing space base with me because I always win. But rockets are victory points so... just go for the cards that give you rockets. That strategy has never failed me. 🚀
You're off to a great start with getting unplayed games played. Most of the ones I got played in January were games that I've gotten recently; either at PAX Unplugged, for Christmas, or in the Barnes & Noble 50% off sale. I'm hoping to get to a few more titles that have been sitting on my shelf longer, but unplayed is unplayed. 😉 I am DYING to get Cosmic Encounter off my Shelf of Shame. Going to have to set up a Game Night specifically for that. Loved hearing how games helped you both make connections and great memories with your families in January! Absolutely awesome! All of my plays for the month were either solo, or 2 player games with Patty (my wife), and I think my favorite memory was playing Clank Catacombs, because we both really enjoyed that one a lot.
We agree unplayed is unplayed. We also need to focus on playing the ones that have been on our shelf for a long time but I'm glad that we at least have been tableling the new ones we got in. Mitch got me Clank Catacombs for Christmas but we haven't played it yet. I'm so excited to! I have a feeling it'll be the best Clank yet! Hopefully we can both knock even more games off our shelf of shame list in February.
Cosmic Encounter is one of my favorite games. Definitely better with more people. You can increase the player count up to 8 players with 3 of the other expansions that each add another set of ships. I have played it with 8 a couple times with everybody against each other and with 2 person teams (Alliance expansion has team rules). Both are fun but the game can get long. 5 is my favorite player count, I think. You can throw all the expansions in at 5 and the game doesn't drag on as long as everybody already knows how to play. There are soooo many aliens in this game. I'll never end up getting a chance to play them all but it's always fun and every game is different playing with different alien mechanics every time! There are also so many expansions (7) and variants that can add to the base game and make it even better. I can't remember what expansions you mentioned in your other video that you have but I'm assuming it's Incursion and Dominion. The Incursion expansion adds a lot with another deck to pull cards from for defending allies. Makes it a lot more worth while to help defend. Dominion adds more reward cards and both have some great aliens. Eons has some incredible alien powers but they're on the more advanced side of things. They also include dials that add a hidden alliance variant to the game that makes joining as allies a lot more strategic since you don't know who is going to get help until everybody reveals their choices. Odyssey adds a lot of new stuff for all of the expansions along with a campaign mode. I have not had a chance to table it yet but looking forward to testing out all of the additions! Love your videos. 👍
Oh wow I didn't know there was that many expansions! I believe we have Dominion and Incursion. I'm definitely going to play this again soon and hopefully at 5. I bet it will a lot better, if I like it at 5 then I might pick up that expansion that addes hidden alliances. I'll let you know how it goes and thanks for commenting!
1:53 you're damn right. 6:50 I ALMOST got you the sasquatch/robinhood one for your birthday. 11:10 we would have lost so fast if we had a betrayer too. Definitely need to figure out difficulty on the main objectives. 14:05 That blue card she started with was insane, she basically won by going first and grabbing that right away. Meanwhile, I think I way underestimated how much having damage on my ship would mess up my options. 19:29 it felt unbalanced as hell. I was so weak with my little starwars cantina looking alien lol 25:22 saving the best for last. Next time we are actually going to play 100% right 27:53 Morgan, he kept going on about how much that strategy made his heart rate jump up because he was worried it would be a terrible idea
This is what I'm talking about, this is another reason stats will be recorded, and we will see at the end of the year how often I really am the bad guy
"Don't tell the people I lost! I know that I won!" 🤣🤣
Whoops! I was suppose to edit that out.
@@MIsForMeeple 🤣 That makes it even better lol
LMFAO I adored the space base discussion. that was amazing.

I 100% love space-based and everyone else play this wrong but me. Lol
We need to play just you and me
@@MIsForMeeple Still never played
Mitch, I completely understand! Mary Kate and friends have often time come after me in games just because they feel like I win too much. Lol
Now that I'm recording our stats, it should be interesting to see how often I actually win vs what they think
We have sometimes played Space Base excluding the rocket cards.
We might have to try that.

I'm ready for another game of Trickerion! The Anti-Mitch Alliance can't stop me.
