Una meditazione e preghiera unica. Magda Olivero era dotata di una musicalità divina e di una tecnica vocale sorprendente. È la mia cantante preferita. I cantanti odierni e soprattutto i giovani dovrebbero prendere lei come esempio assoluto. Un'artista che aveva un vero sincero e umile rispetto e amore verso l'arte, non si è mai messa davanti ad'essa come invece fanno di sovente le "dive" moderne...Magda Olivero tu sei la vera divina.
Parole sante...e soprattutto con la Olivero c' è sempre la volontà ferrea di calarsi totalmente in una atmosfera, ed in un personaggio, facendoli rivivere totalmente...sempre stupenda.

Clef Note Productions, Gigi was indeed close personal friends with both ladies (who were NOT close personal friends!). Gigi and I met riding back to NYC on the Amtrak after Magda’s Sunday afternoon Tosca in Boston. We talked non-stop for 3 hours. I saw him often after that. He was a great, great vocal coach in addition to being a voice teacher, two skills which do not always pair up in the same person. You were quite fortunate!

Magda Olivero is not a machine, what you seem to forget is that she was then 83 years old, and to still have the stamina to sing as she did on that video is unheard of, even from singers 20 years younger. Try to put things into perspective.

The Tebaldi Fanatic (Gino) talking about tune is almost ironic! When Tebaldi sang the role of Adriana was screaming out of tune like a duck in her 40s! Magda here shines at 83!!
@@OperaMyWorld Olivero cannot sing in tune, almost never, not even when she was young because her vibrato was so flawed, full of irregular vibrations that her intonation was never good. Here in 1993 she is simply doing a fool of herself. Tebaldi always sang well in her 30s, in her 40s in her 50s
