This makes me so happy and sad at the same time. Im native American and my wife is white. Her step dad was a black army ranger who served in Vietnam. He raised her for most of her life and was a GREAT man! He recently past away so this hit me pretty hard. Congratulations sir! You are now, on paper, what you've been in real life for many years!

My brother a Marine who was wounded but somehow survived Vietnam during the Tet offensive is still feeling the pain of that experience. It is vital to celebrate good father’s wether they biological or not because good men are hard to find. So I salute you for your appreciation of this man and the man who raised your wife. My stepdad raised me from 9 months old to current. The love I have for him is so unconditional. I never felt abandoned or anything. These creations are rare but they do exist because I am a living testimony ❤️❤️ congrats Mr.Watson, you are honored.

I don't think a child of that young age can make some mature decision for himself I think one of those other adults made that decision for him as far as the adopted father they should have asked him first once the deed is done it would look very bad if he rejected that child not that you want to reject the child but he should have been asked before they went to court he was backed into a corner and any other response except the one you gave would have hurt that child in measurably I just thought it was done the wrong way

Hey buddy!! I adopted my oldest also. He was 2 months old when I met his mom. I LOOOOOVE CHILDREN and a few days after I married his mom when he was 2 years old I went to fill out papers to adopt him. After 30 days it was final. He Carrie's my last name. He us officially my son. I had 2 more boys and a girl during the marriage. There is nothing like a child bonding with his dad no matter if it were your biological child or not. I LOVE THIS!!

What an amazing man. I commend good step parents, people who choose to become parents to children who do not share their blood. My husband did the same for my daughter. Raised her since she was baby and now she is nine years old and he has officially adopted her and she has taken his name. Shows that blood doesn’t always mean family.

Im 37 years old and have had my real dad in my life since birth, I truly love that man. With that being said, he raised me to be a father before anything. I now am the step dad of 3 young girls whom I've been with for 12 years. They are my angels and are part of my heart like my "real" children. Men like this are what's needed in world. Too bad they are now making men into something else.

I totally respect the role that stepparents go through; I am one, but I also recognize something that happens too often, the bio parent is pushed out of the child's life and replaced. Not saying it's happened in your case, but it happens a lot.

It appears the StepDad/ Dad was just as fortunate to have them as they were to have Him. ALL CHILDREN need a strong figure who cares. Ppl in society wonder where Gangs like Skin Headz, Bloods, Crips, Latin Kings, GD’s , P-Stones, MS-13, etc com from. After interviewing former members , 87 % for a sense of belonging. A Dad will walk you to school, stand at a bus stop in the rain, fix a bike, correct you when you’re wrong, and hug u everyday.
