Fellow Switch players: Best way I found (still took a few tries) was to head towards the basketball court thats East where you start, about a block away. A big group always spawns there. After killing those guys, run to the left and you'll find the path to get in the court. I alternated going inside the court and back through the path. Turning your camera away and immediately looking back usually spawns a triad back in as you're running to and from. My last attempt I got lucky with spawns of groups of 2-3.
From what I can tell, the Switch can't handle spawning too many npcs like the major consoles or pc does. Sucks but it is what it is. hope this helps!

This is the most helpful thing I’ve found online. Hopping around instead of running to clear some distance and switching the camera around in the block where you start, and doing the same on that basketball court path got it done for me in time in about a half dozen times.

Here is what I did. Slow down the game and speed up but it was the same so decided to explode cars n that created faster spawn rate to finish it off

Update July 2022: The Triads still don’t spawn at a rate that makes this mission near possible to complete.
Yea on the switch this mission is ridiculous. I'm gonna skip it.
Took a few attempts but was able to barely complete it. Some tips I used were
- Make sure to get the basketball court
- Jumping around helps me move quicker
- Do some 360 spins that could help spawn Triads
The rest was sort of luck being in an area where Triads spawn frequently, my area was still somewhere around the basketball court.
@@badasspenguin8072 I got it last night, I went for the basketball court first and was lucky enough to get a 3 spawn gang.
Literally any area on the map in this game is swarming with gang members. Fire one shot and every npc turns into a gang member and swarms you.

Chinatown, Switch version- why is it crawling with Triads all of the time, except I tried this mission 20 times and only ever get it to spawn 10-12 triads per try. It just keeps spawning cops.
A years after this definitive release and it still pain in the ass in switch version , and as soon you complete the mission there was like 10 triads spawn and start gun blazing at you :)
After an hour of trying and finally completing it here are my tips:
- Go to the basketball court behind where you got the flamethrower (use a car its better)
- Go inside the basketball court there usually spawns 10 automatically and more.
- Go behind you will find the rest
- Turn off bloom
- Use the jump button its faster

Who in their right mind thought 2mins30secs is a long time for this. It burns 15 seconds just getting out where the flamethrower was at.
This mission is so hard, yet it is so worth hearing funny screams and blowing stuff up! 😆😂🤣😂

This mission is pretty hard, at first I kept dying as I didn't notice I was catching some flames too, then it's just not enough bad guys round, basketball court round the back has a bunch though, jump in a car and get them and then come back.

Yep. I make it up until about 4 are left with about 15 seconds and can't find any Triads.
@@ImSwiftLy at the basketball playgrounds there are always 5 or 6 members watching you at the fences. They actually saved me from running out of gang members to burn.

A tip for switch players, just keep a car and drive around, and make sure to get the large group by the basketball court.
Lol didnt need the car. It kinda takes more time to get in and out the car, so I just keeping jumping.
The first two times I died because of catching on fire and then once I stopped dying to the fire it just wasn't enough gang members spawning. Add to the fact that you can't even sprint with this bullshit ass Flamethrower and this mission is annoying as fuck.

SWITCH PLAYERS : try to turn off the "bloom" setting, this should make it easier for you. This really helped me with this mission.

Okay guys it took me about a hour to do this (posted june 2024) I’m on Xbox series s, grab that flame thrower, walk out the alley go right near the intersection and a guy will run very fast, he brings you around the block into a couple spawns of enemies (about 10) when you go all the way around the block and back to that same intersection. Just keep spamming you right thumb stick (r3 or whatever you call it) and the traids kinda spawn around you as long as you’re not stationary. Hope it helps guys
Somehow this mission was hard, because even in close range, the Triads doesn't burned enough.

Finally beat it after like 40 tries !! You have to go to the court and behind it and back ! Jump to move faster and make/hope they spawn !

Okay guys--Switch version solution. Take a right when you get the flame thrower and make another right at the first corner, killing any triads you see on the way. Make your way down the street to the basket ball court and kill as many triads as you can on the way. Look back and forth and guys will respawn sometimes when you do, kill them too. After killing all the guys in the corner of the basketball court, go around the side of it and kill more triads as you see them, then and jump into the b-ball court, swivel the camera around 360 and guys will keep respawning. Keep killing them until you hit 25. Worked for me!

The fact that I had to UA-cam/Google this mission, and they still haven't patched the spawn rate for this mission on switch, is beyond ridiculous. People run to the basketball court around the building and kill the group, then run to the brick wall that enters the court, a few will spawn inside, run back and forth to the wall and check the other side and you should be able to get it. 😂🤦🏽♂️

This is a mission that I always remember having trouble on whether it be the PS2 or mobile. But playing the DE (on Switch) is a nightmare. Whereas in the older versions I was able to get this mission down within a few tries, this DE version is a nightmare. It seems that the spawning issue has been intensified by an incomprehensible amount. Low key if I was to be asked, this is, at it's core, a Rampage mission so it would have been best to keep this as a Rampage instead of a side mission. Annoying overall. Spent an hour and a half on it and still couldn't complete it.
Seriously I spent 30 seconds looking for one triad and that was the last 1 he needed to get it
It’s easy. Head to the right getting as many guys as you can while proceeding to the basketball court get all of those guys and then go back-and-forth on that same street getting them as they respawn.
This is the route I took
They don't respawn.
I can consistently kill 20 triads. But never 25. You can't go 20 seconds without killing one due to them not appearing.
There’s a comment about switch users and it helped me a lot but to add on use a car to get there and burn the triads on the way it saves so much time and when I used a car I got it first try with 9 seconds left they really like spawning in the court area😭😂

If not a spawn of six of them at basketball it would be not possibile to finish it on ps4
I had no problem, I went to the basketball court where I found them all. Also jumping around to to burn myself to death helped a whole lot. Hope this helps. ✌🏼

It's not hard as most of comments are saying it took me only 3 tries, whatever don't run into your path of your own fire, then I just happened to find 10 standing around at once near the basketball court!

Same this mission is driving me nuts😂
take a fast car, destroy car doors, get the big group at the basketball court first, then drive further behind the court to a park, go back and forth to park and back to spawn more triads, hunt down the remaining 5-6 triads in the city. This is how I did it.

Hey Everybody's Anybody know if on the Nintendo switch its a bug?! I cant finish the mission in the times, they (the Triads) they are not many on the street of Chinatown and when a wanna Burn all the 20s gang members for end the mission there are always 15 10 or 8 gang members left before a lose the mission, and i reset the mission more than 10 times.
Where are the Triads? I can only ever find 15-20 tops on the Switch version.

so in powerful systems like a ps5 more triads can spawn but on weaker systems like the switch the npcs just dont spawn
i realized one thing, its not the triads, but it's the fucking timer. If they have to be greedy for lame respawn there's no such thing as timer. but this bullshit, short time and long ass respawn. Gotta be honest, R* really good for trolling us bruh

PS4 version doesn't show the target number properly, you can only see like a bit of the first digit. But man this mission is difficult even without that issue. xD

Quand je veux finir la mission dans les temps il reste toujours 15 10 a 8 triads avant de toujours échoué cette mission. Et je les recommencer plus que 10x. J'ai fait même exprès a faire d'autres missions juscasque les triads veulent me tuer juste pour les attirer comme des poissons et dès que la mission commence ils sont tranquille il veulent même pas me tuer donc j'ai tous essayer et cette mission facile que je réussis sur toutes les autres consoles ben sur la Nintendo switch sa bug je perds toujours car il a jamais assez de triads dans ma partie lorsque je lance la mission j'ai même recommencer une game plus d'une fois et le temps arrive toujours a 00:00 et je perds

I made it happen by using cheat code slow motion and cheat code to burst all cars. When all cars are exploded many triads start spawning.
