Damn. I’m 9months in and I’m tempted to start over to grow out my sides. But I think I’ll keep going. I’ll see the progress after a year or two. Im loving yours.
You got this bro yeah man the patience definitely pays off but I also feel like you also are early enough in that you could grow your sides out and have them loc’d it may look a little odd at first but in time it’ll seem like your locs are the same length since your longer ones are on top of your head and have to reach down
I had high top locs went about 7-8 months with no hair cut cuz of Covid and not needing to go out as much decided to just two strand my hair in the back cuz my fade was a little to high now I basically got like a Mohawk kinda definitely worth it they growing fast and are hidden by my longer hair anyways so I say go for it
@@jayds4923 yeah I’m 3 months in but I’ve been growing my hair out for 2 years before I started the loc journey. I think once I hit a year and my hair can completely cover the sides imma grow out the sides and back under it

Looks great. I have a high top as well so I know the struggle of wanting to start over, the side locks sticking up (everytime I fall asleep with so durag) so I cant push my hair down all the way lol, the shirt ponytail stage. I’m 6 months in and my locs are to my ears but I’m waiting for them to mature like yours cause those joints are 🔥🔥. Keep going man. It’s a spiritual journey that only a locer would understand.

Please don’t Afro is the best I had dreads due to months of leaving my shi in two strands and I regretted it cus I wanted it to do more instead of only having a dread look it gets pretty old so, and eventually my dumb ass had to cut some of due to it dreading and leaving the two strand in and overall it was a disaster I’m currently 4 months in growing my Afro back and Ik it’s gonna look insane plus you have a taper you could do much more bro wait at least another year or two to decide your hair will look nice trust

I used to have long straight hair before I cut it off I don’t regret it not at all it was just always in the way plus I have a bald spot in the front of my forehead which is really not to good looking because I would always put my hair in a man bun or just have it on top and I would basically put it tight to the point where it hurt and I think that’s why I have it and like I said before I 💯% regret getting a man bun word of advice if your hair is crying for help don’t mess with it try good hair products that are comfortable for you and your hair ✌️and safe travels 🚀🌌

I have a question , all my life my hair would grow like to a certain length then stop , I was constantly braiding and two strand twisting everyday , but now I started my loc journey , so you think it would help my hair grow ? Or do u think that maybe I have a issue with my hair so it will stay the same still ?
I had the same problem my hair literally only grew when I locked it. The problem is we got thin weak hair that breaks faster than it grows. So not troubling it for long periods is the only way it grows.

If you’re still in the early months don’t let it bother you! Keep getting your retwist at your normal frequency and eventually they’ll begin to hold better even if they are a different texture. Also if you sleep on the back on your head make sure you have a durag on to keep them from moving around too much or a scarf.

@@victornevercare if your loctician saying that I’d listen to her over me but make sure you talk to her about the back coming out more often and she may tell you to come more or to change something.

Yes actually I’ve wanted to create a video speaking on that more because while I didn’t heavily utilize it during my earlier stages it helped me get some of my springier locs sealed.

Your locks look hard fr. But yo hairline got fuc*ed through the process. That's why I'm scared doing these types of hairstyles that will undoubtedly pull on the hairline as a result of constant pressure. It's like how braces work ,the constant pressure is what makes your teeth shift into the direction you want them to. The difference with the hairline is that it's only getting pushed tf back.
Get a tapered hairline and you won't have to worry
