    I admire the knowledge and skills needed to replace a car battery. But at the same time I detest the lack of occupational safety and environmental protection. The craftsman works with acid and doesn't even wear closed shoes. The work is carried out in the dirt, on the public road. This is not how work should be carried out. But it also proves that even under very primitive conditions, any complex work can only be done by human hands. - A toast to human versatility and superiority on this planet.

      "Thank you for your concern! We understand that safety is very important. However, we only visit locations to film the process, and we're not directly involved in the work being done, so we don’t always use protective gear ourselves. The people working there may have their own way of doing things. But we do encourage all our viewers to always use safety equipment like gloves when working with hazardous materials. Thanks for your support!

    such restoration for us half a year. only in a hot climate. in our winter -20, the battery will die in half 1-2 hours. the coating on the plates has fallen off. the plates are like a skeleton. white with lead sulfate. the residual capacity of such a battery is good if 40%

    Battery is doomed to fail quickly. Not understanding one of the reasons that batter failed initially. He never cleans the plates. The same corrosion on the surface of the plates as when they came out of the old battery. The chemical reaction takes place on the surface of those plates. Corroded plates mean a reduction in the reaction, which means that battery he built is junk.
    All of that to say this:
    The sulfuric acid polution meant nothing.
    The lead polution meant nothing.
    The chemically burnt skin on his hands and fingertips meant nothing.
    All of the wrong, and all of the ingenuity of the repair just to build a battery that was still just as worthless as the one he tore apart.
    This video shows ignorance and nothing more. The videographer by knowing they are doing it unsafely yet saying nothing is only propagating the ignorance.
    To help someone you speak truth. To help yourself you tell them what they want to hear.

      If you think that they really give a damn, they don't. The "safety sandals" should've said it all. It would be easier to feel bad for them to be in such horrid conditions if they weren't the same ones who happily exploit millions if not billions via scam call centers and other fraudulent means.

    • @Sakura_Yuki_NC
      @Sakura_Yuki_NC Місяць тому +2

      Quite likely that the chemical reaction had gone bad in the battery, in such a strong acid, corrosion on those plates dont mean much until the plates are gone, it's not like rust, redoing the mats inside together with fresh acid restores the battery, replacing the lead would be more costly then just getting a new one, is this a new battery, nah, but it should work quite well as if you bought it second hand used for a few years, I dont agree though with all the toxic stuff and working conditions, but he is providing a service to people who cant afford a new one while feeding his family

    • @jacobjohnson3200
      @jacobjohnson3200 27 днів тому +1

      @@Sakura_Yuki_NC The plates are where the electron transfer occurs. Conversion and deposition at the plate causes an increased voltage drop across those plates, leading to a lower total voltage across the battery. The sulfuric acid likely didn't not appreciably change in concentration over the lifetime of the battery.

    Usually I'm not one to dis developing country techniques, but those batteries are still junk, even after rebuild. They don't bother to put in new electrode plates and the ones they're installing are all used up - you can clearly see the grid which is supposed to be covered in a thick layer of paste.
    They're literally wasting time repackaging worn electrodes into different cases and could've gotten the same result by simply refilling the electrolyte, though that would only minimally extend battery life. Really ripping off customers, here.
