I love that this guy simplifies things for us so much. Really gets down to our level and teaches from there instead of trying to teach from the high level they are at.

    Takeaways:
1 Keep your capacity to bet 2 streets with a smaller 1/3rd pot bet
2 don't cap your range by checking on the turn,
3 keep players in the pot with inferior hands with smaller bets

I've used Alex's strats from pt 1 and 2 as well as other videos from him for a little while and they have helped me greatly. I think it's just how he combines the database with examples is how it works so well for me.

I really enjoy the breakdown of these videos, from hand examples to real stats to range analysis, for why each play works. This video in particular showed me just how much we shouldn't always fear those monster cards that could wreck a hand. I appreciate the video and will look forward to the next one!

Love this video! learning a heap over the two parts so far! Ive learned that the fish in my live game are even bigger fish and i can crush the live tourneys now with a few pre flop adjustments as everyone loves a limp and not being raised! Being super lag 3 betting 4 betting large % of the time vs weak players is going to be super profitable and hopefully will help in my live game!

I think overwhelmingly i would fold that J8s, perhaps in right circumstances opening is an option.
I needed to watch the A7 analysis once again. I've got a Q about this: Could i donkbet the flop?
What i definitely need to take into my game and test out is the "money comes from turns" strat in the QQ hand. I initially thought i need to bet a bit bigger because opponent can have a lot of gutshots and Kx's as well as worse pairs that could call so i can't really go cheap. Would've gone about 210 intending to bet about 40% on turn (320) myself, then quite possibly check back river. Definitely trying to go the opposite in my next sessions, instead of 55-40 perhaps then 35-65 (should the turn bet be smaller than that?).
Since i know you're going to read this, i have 2 suggestions. First, i think your outros are too long. F.e Lex Veldhuis part 3 your outro was like 5-6 minutes? This outro is a minute 30, which i would say is also a bit long. I think people who are going to watch your lessons through have put a lot of attention and thought into learning.. After the main video ends i think the brain expects to loosen up (attention spans and whatnot) and thus i get irritated--i want to watch the video until the end but my brain just repulses any new information.. i need to force myself through the outro. As Assasinat0 himself said in the video, even navy seals are given as little as possible to remember to their mission, you do the same :). What do I recommend you to do? 1) Think if anything is more useful in the INTRO, f.e writing down things in the comments should go in the intro to make us actively learn the first time we're watching it not come back and rewatch (fortunately i got your e-mail so i didn't have to ). Secondly, think if there's something you can leave out.
The second thing is about your description bocks. First thing you say is "if you haven't watched it check down and click to watch it"......uhmmm WHICH OF THE LINKS? I looked through the links twice and honestly i don't even think it's there, and if it is the average person stopped looking after the first time. If you ask me to check something out i do not, DO NOT need a crap load of stuff i am not looking for. What i recommend? First, drop the least useful information (i know, everything is useful, just try). Secondly, put the promised links as the first ones so people don't spend a lot of time looking (unless it's your scheme for people to go through every page you've put there).
In addition, i've heard youtubes' algorithm promotes a video less if there are links that direct the person outside of UA-cam. I recognize some of these links should stay there, but i suggest to research it and if true, try to post less links that leave the site.
I hope you take this as a positive comment overall as i am genuinely criticizing constructively here :)
Have a great one and keep up the good work you're putting out! Love it!

I play micro stakes online and when i c-bet i get destroy alot. Post flop i have to keep betting with my AK and get stack by middle pairs. If i go all-in pre with AK well most of the time i flip against middle pairs. I'm losing most of my tournaments with AK.

Key takeaway: Do not check and cap your range because most people call way too much.

  • @pierrelanau3119

i didnt get it when i saw this new trend of betting 1/3 pot flop c bet and frankly i suspect a lot of player are doing it just because they follow fashion lik,e sheep...not only yu can pot control or reduce chiploss when blufin but yu also uncap your range.

Good stuff. Do not be the one to cap your range by calling. Alec shows most other players have a hard time folding on the turn and river when they get there. So it is on the turn you have an opportunity to make your money. Lure them to the turn and bet big if after betting small on the flop it induced their turn call which caps their range. Then get another bet on the river if they call turn then check river more out of habit or curiosity about the way you played your hand. He put it in a nut shell at the end - Poker is about making the most money so opening when no one will 3-bet you then 3-betting when no one will 4-bet you and c-betting to the right amounts.
