😂 to be fair parth I think saw some cars coming but I definitely should have been able to make it over. I wanted the bag to make it a realistic scenario
🤣 I don't plan to go up these gradients all the time. I've found the 50T to be good overall for riding around Seattle. This was just a fun challenge but I did change my P line to 44T for riding in HK
I had NO IDEA there was a toolkit hidden in the tube! 🤯 The zig zags, legs of steel and iron will get you to the top. Maybe a little help from a friend. 🤣
The steepest hill for me is still Heart Attack Hill on the Tolt Pipeline in Woodinville. I'm really curious to know if your commuter e-bike can make it up as that hill is on my commute and is really killer. Out of about 100 attempts, I've made it up twice on a gravel bike.
i could climb this ez and thats not a flex i just put a kids mtb crankset on my folding bike lol gives u gears 12speed mtbs can only dream of i haul shopping over 25% hills with this easily
For sure it'd be able to make it over with the effort we were giving it. Though sometimes the front wheel lifts as you ride this steep so I wonder how that would work out with the front hub motor.
You look like you weigh less than 75kg. Nobody weighing 90kg or more would make it up this hill. Even on a T line. I have a Tern Verge X11. And its a greqt hill climber. Dont know if I could get up this hill on it. But I wouldnt be screamimg the place down like you either lol.
You have new Brompton it looks very nice indeed.
Thank you!
What a great video for me to wake up to and have my coffee with thanks you guys are awesome
So glad that you enjoyed it :) Stay tuned for more
Nice hill, valiant attempts. I foresee you conquering this beast.
Incredible camera work.
😂 big props to Matt running up and down that hill with the GoPro
I walked down this hill one time after your other video, it’s super steep!
I can definitely make videos on videos about all the random steep hills in Seattle
there are steeper hills over near Montlake, East Roy Street at 26.04%
The bag on the handle bar added additional weight and not aero! That must be the reason why you two couldn’t make it over the hill!

You've gotta zig zag, and that chain ring sure is big for doing this. 50T is too big for a hilly city, IMO.
I love this so much 🤣
😂 pure fun on a bike 🏔️
Get the 44T chainring, lowest gear is 28.2”.

@@BestSideCyclingBrother, in your own experience, so is 50t or 44t when you ride, is much more easy or much more comfortable to ride?
I thought small wheeled bikes had the advantage on hills over large wheeled bikes. He booked it up the hill on his road bike.
Haha, the Brompton weighs a whole LOT more than a road bike + he was clipped in versus not which is a huge difference for these sprint efforts.
@@BestSideCycling Great observation. I didn't think of this. Thanks.

😂 you have to buy it separately but it fits perfectly! Comes with a flat kit and tire levers too so it's awesome
Hi, what camera do you use to film?
lmao guy in traffic.
😂 many people were stuck waiting for the light watching our shenanigans
Would you be able to climb this hill? What did you think of our effort? What's the steepest thing that you've climbed?

Heart attack Hill is hard enough on a MTB. I did it once doing Stinky Spoke.

How about a Brompton Electric?
For sure it'd be able to make it over with the effort we were giving it. Though sometimes the front wheel lifts as you ride this steep so I wonder how that would work out with the front hub motor.
The internal gears have too much drivetrain friction and your chainring is too big. China has a tri fold with a external 9 speed
:) I will be back with some upgrades.
Do you have the 44T chainring on your Brompton?
Nope, 50T! All stock 6 speed Explore.
@@BestSideCycling Insane. Props!

Oh man you can get that, maybe shed some weight off the bike and use clipped pedals next time.
😂 I felt like clipped pedals would take it out of the realm of a normal brompton ride but I agree it would have helped 100%
@@BestSideCycling word. I'm so used to clip less the only way I'm not using them is maybe on a BMX bike I don't have
😂😂😂😂😂
Just the type of hill you like right?
