I started a new job almost 7 months now. Since day 1 i feel like im being watched covertly. My boss works out of a different office and i see her twice a month at most and have 30min interactions with her. One time she randomly asked me, "whats that thing you always say?" "That expression that you say"... i was surprised. Is this normal office behaviour to be watched so much? I work in Nyc
I- Me too! I hate the fact that my window is behind my head when I sleep, though. Everytime I'm inside, I would look in the garden then behind me, as if trying to catch what's there. I do see black marks sometimes on a corner, then it disappears. I named this "stalker" Stan.
krillins moustache Maybe we are all in a truman show together..... well if u think of it, it isn’t that unlikely, for example people who do drugs (for example steve o where I heard it from) get into some spiritual world, with almost like demons and angels
I feel like people can read my mind sometimes. It makes me very uneasy and uncomfortable.. I will think about things and feel embarrassed so I get scatter-brained trying to think of anything else. And if they make any contact with me or move in anyway or change their speech or tone I will freak out so much. I also struggle with paranoia and anxiety (just from what info I have gathered about what Im feeling). I just feel like I am being watched at all times. And I kinda feel like it stems from my sleep paralysis episodes because I hallucinate. I saw a figure and now I cant unsee it and I feel watched. I will not change with the lights on and I go into the bathroom to do it. I talk as if I have to justify what I am doing because I feel that someone must be watching. I get scared when I do anything odd when I am alone because I feel judged. Its hard for me to act normal. I wish I could seek help but Im in highschool and the counselor just reccomends you to a professional but I dont have the right insurance. Kinda stuck..
Kate McCormick yeah ! It so hard to make friends for that reason , I feel like I can't be a good friend cuz I thought something wrong or embarrassing . I've been slowly been getting better at by just reminding myself that we're not super human , we're imperfect we make mistakes and that being a good friend listen so I try to live in the moment and just listen to what they say.
Fixx Foxx that is a very scary situation, and like you say the fact that you know you were right would in a way make it worse because you’ll become more paranoid. The thing about my paranoia is that in my case it’s just laid out stupid because Ive have only had two friend over my house but we were next to each other the whole time and never was never on a different room. So even though I know it’s stupid what goes on my mind I just can’t stop thinking that, it it kind of affects me on my everyday life because I can’t be comfortable and be my self on my own house even though I know what I think is not true. But the fact that what you suspected came out as true is truly terrifying because your paranoia becomes greater and can’t trust anyone anywhere. So I really really feel bad for you because you really lived something horrible. Sometimes I also don’t think in a free way because I think they can read my mind and at anytime will come out and judge me.
I think I'm being watched by people who I know and it's like I can't see them, like I try to go in the shower and I feel uncomfortable as if invisible people are watching me do publicly embarrassing things Sorry if it isn't the right thing to say for some people
Omg I have exactly the same problem. Like EXACTLY the same. I’m gonna ask my parents to help me get some therapy or something cuz I’ve had this problem for years
I feel paranoid. I always feel like im being watched, this has to do with my authoritarian parents and ever-looming co-workers who criticize every little mistake
Im a dancer and 14. Whenever i try i feel watched so eventually i stopped doing it, but when i really need to, i block my bedroom windows and my door but i still feel like invisible people are always sneaking in, watching and judging me. Idk what to do anymore.
Walking from my bedroom to the living room makes me conscious I always feel like I'm being watched by invisible people. Even by the people I meet or even by my own friends.Even when I'm home alone, I feel really very conscious.
When I'm staying up at night (every night) and it's dark in the room, I would always look at the open door and look away, and then look back again. Because I imagine a dark figure standing there looking at me, ready to kill me if I make just one sound. I can't just close the door because I'm scared of the dark too. Maybe this is a result of constant sleep deprivation? I'm not sure but it's the middle of the night and I'm creeped out...
Wildfire Omega SAME OML i sleep in the living room and there is a balcony next to the living room, the kitchen on the other side, and a hall to our rooms kinda in the middle, but close to the kitchen, and then there is a small hall to the front door. And at night, they would get really dark, so when i looked over, i could make out a dark figure, but it would disappear most of the time. That increased my paranoia by so many levels, i always felt a presence of someone whenever im alone, public or home alone. Whenever i get home from school, i would open the door slowly and call out if anyone was home
I love the last technique about imagining your worst fear but deciding to live by your values anyway and carrying on and then you’d feel better. I will try this technique. Wow thanks so much for this video. You’ve got a new subscriber
I feel watched evertime im alone in the house or when i go too refeel my water bottle or go to the bathroom and i would always freak out hoping it was all in my mind somtimes i would even hear what sounds like a door opening or things falling
i keep seeing faces in windows and thinking that demons are trying to enter my house. so i would try to wipe it off and see myself in the window and try to convince myself that it’s my reflection but my brain is telling me that demons have taken my body and i’m not in control. sometimes i even hear, see, and feel other people in the room. i keep feeling hands on my face, knees, arms, shoulders and thighs. i see human like figures in corners and in windows and dark hallways. i hear voices when i try to sleep. i hear footsteps in my halls when the door is closed. i see things move and when i make eye contact with it, it’s back in the original spot. it’s terrifying.
@@f4g0nm3th That happens when I look at myself in the mirror, I feel like I have no control over my body and someone else is in charge, creeps me out can’t look for more than 5 seconds
I've had different paranoia compulsions throughout my life and I haven't heard many people talk about them. Thanks for speaking up! This is an extremely useful video. :)
+ShalomAleichem Thanks, Kat. Yeah, I'm surprised by how paranoia seems to get shoved into a corner and not discussed, even though it's so widespread and maybe even fundamental to any mental health issue. But I think it's because people get into the same situation I was in: realizing some compulsions might be excessive but still believing the fear and constantly ruminating on the fear.
+Mark Freeman I also feel that this is one of the compulsions that i was the most ashame of. While later on understanding that it is just a part of my illness.. Pretty similiar to the belief that my thoughts can "be seen" or noticed by other people and thereby notice that im crazy or not good enough.. and also trying to avoid people to see the "real me". Your video about thoughts are like farts was a real dealbreaker actually of overcoming alot of things... the idea of my brain having bad smelling farts just "clicked" and supported the things that i was dealing with in (still am) in my therapy :)
+Jonas Pieniniemi sorry i think i just used the word dealbreaker in the wrong way.. it was a dealbreaker for my ocd to work :) to accept the thoughts as farts and not reality. :)
It's completely normal for everybody to experience fears, especially in the dark. It helped me to see that my brain is like a puppy and it's scared of a lot of things, so I need to teach it how to be brave and teach how to be quiet and not bark at every little thing.
@@wattups2527 Hi! This comment is actually very old. I am 13 now and will be turning 14 in less than a month, Of course, this doesn't mean my paranoia is gone. It's still here and I haven't yet learned how to control it. I sure hope things for you end up getting better though!
The Antagonist hello! We are very close in age! I turn 14 in a few weeks! I have something similar and what I do is just hug my dog and I say like that for 5 minutes. Doing that makes me feel a little better and you also bond with your pet. You can also go a therapist or do some breathing exercises Breathe in slowly (you should count to 7 while you breathe in l) Then hold it for 6 seconds if possible Then breathe out for 5 seconds Then breathe in for 4 seconds Hold for 3 Breathe a out for 2 Then start over again do it as long as you need it really works. And from what I could tell from your old comment you feel like your being watched, right? Well I feel like I’m being watched, every single second of every single day and that someone is planning to stab, shoot, or rape me. And I get that way about my family (I feel like they are gonna do the same thing) and my parents won’t let me do therapy which sucks because that’s what I really need but whatever. I hope you feel better and don’t have to go through paranoia anymore I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Have a great night!
hey ur like 17 now right? Any advice? Have you gotten over this fear? It’s like consuming MY life and I don’t know how to fix it. Hoping you’d have some advice. ❤
I've had so many ocd thoughts through out my life ...it's ridiculous...some I'm able to get over ...but some I haven't .. Until another ocd takes control ...it's like a never ending cycle
Create a third platform in your mind in order to stop that, when you flip flop in your mind it's hard to stop thinking about it but there's ways to stop it if you know your mind well enough
I've had mild paranoia but extreme anxiety and fearful thoughts. What I do is, I force myself to live a normal life and I try to observe my fears and compulsions. Sometimes it's hard but usually it works. Also CBT and meditation helped a lot.
@@itzjakedawgttvyt3749 I had 3 years of therapy and now just trying to live a balanced life in every area. Gotta constantly take care of myself. Sometimes the anxiety still comes up but I don't let it stop myself from living.
For me I don't know why it almost comforts me if I'm crying and looking out the window, thinking someones out there symathysing with me. Personally I think it's a way to cope with the fact that everyone actually did leave and haven't looked back. Idk if that makes sense.
I feel like randomly when I’m alone, my friends are watching me, no matter what I do or where they are. They could be across the world but I still feel like they’re watching me
when i go out and I see people that are looking suspicious I panick then my paranoia kicks in I start freaking out especially when people stare like in big groups and they start talking about me
I’m paranoid that I’m im surveillance and that people thinking I’m a bad person especially when I’m out in public places and I blame myself for it because I have social anxiety so I feel tensed most of the time. This made me feel so depressed but your video helped me realise that I’m not alone with these thoughts and that I can change and realise it’s all irrational. thank you
I find being paranoid is a good thing to be in certain scenarios. You're almost always on alert and ready to haul ass or kick ass. I sleep with a machete under my bed and I have 3 locks on all doors.
@@kolee8919 Care to share those two times it saved you? I'm currently also suffering of 'a higher level of reality' and, as much as I don't want to believe in it, it is probably reality since I "predicted" right outcomes pertaining to this context, more than one time, too. Have a great and productive week!
I have struggled so much with opening up to people because I felt like I was being judged but that fear of being judged started to turn into me being paranoid about someone watching me and judging me secretly and then, even though I knew it was impossible, I started thinking "what if someone could hear my thoughts?" And I've been struggling with these thoughts that originally just started as social anxiety but now have evolved into thinking someone is somehow watching me at all times. Everytime I change clothes by myself I cover up or even change in the dark just incase even though no one is there. Every time I think about an intrusive thoughts i get paranoid that someone can hear my thoughts. It's gotten so bad this past year I don't know what to do.
I feel like I'm being watched 24/7 and I'm afraid to get dressed and to have showers ect. And I don't know how to deal with it but the only thing that helps is if I'm with a pet like my cat or dog and I feel like safe I fell like I can't talk about it because I feel like if they stalker realised I known they where watching they would kill me. I feel like people what what through my walls and just stalking me
Omg this speaks so much, I always feel like someone is watching or following me. It’s a crazy strong feeling. I was like is this normal omg 😱 I try to just pretend and not let it bother me. I’m just so used to the feeling now I been dealing with this for years. Thank you for making me understand it all ☺️
There is a corner in my room that I always have to look at when I’m sleeping because it feels like someone is watching me. I’ve needed to fall asleep to movies the past few nights because every noise seems off to me
1 year ago i went to my relatives place. They were very strict and yah they use to judge each and every step of mine I used to do in their house. Though i was behaving normally and was completely doing fine, talking to them, i stayed there for 5 days. Actually they were very disciplined and they followed a regular schedule everyday. Waking up in the morning and getting fresh, bathing all such stuffs in chronological order everyday. As i was in their house i did the same. But deep down inside i felt they didn't think of me as a responsible person or as if I am careless. They even asked me why i didn't get any one of my books to study. They were obviously richer and had a better standard of living. After coming back to my house, I was okay. But as days went of, i felt like they still have eyes on me and whatever i am doing in my own home in my room, they are watching me and judging me. Basically i feel like each act of mine is being judged. Right from waking up till going to sleep. Earlier I thought it was because i visited them recently. But it's been 1 year now, and i still feel the same. I have also developed this habit of imagining fake scenarios and talking to myself, like arguing with someone, fighting and all. I don't know what am i going through. Sometimes i just feel lost. I don't want to feel this thing anymore. I want to stop this. I know no one's watching me but i feel so each seconds of my day.
@@kagisokgmk5135 what do you do basically? Do you meet new people or have good friends. I guess meeting new people, going out will help. But i can't do that right now because i am preparing for my exams so avoiding people and distractions. I have completely shut down my self from the outside world. I feel like i am wasting my time whenever i talk to others. I want to be alone all the time but that doesn't mean i do something productive, instead i just waste my time overthinking. I don't know, don't want to talk to any new person or my existing friends. But it might actually help. Earlier i thought that feeling of being watched and judged would eventually fade. But it's worsen now. I cry daily as i feel i am good for nothing.
I always get paranoid in public one stall bathrooms that there could be cameras it’s so severe that before I go use it I’m looking under the sink in the vents in corners of the ceiling inside the styrofoam ceiling tiles I even got freaked out by a motion detector that turns on the light it’s so depressing feeling like I’m being watched even after checking each crevice of a room.
I feel like someone or some type of energy is in my room with me and I can't see it and it terrifies me because I get panick attacks easily and I can't explain it
Same I always feel like there are people replying to everything I say in my mind I hear voices in my mind even tho they aren’t true and that’s scary when I sleep I feel like they are standing behind my bed
I'm literally so scared of going out, I don't like getting out of my house, I always think people is taking pictures me, laughing at me, talking about me, if I see someone with their phone out I immediately think they're taking pictures of me and then I keep thinking about it for the whole day, I get so scared and anxious, I don't know if that's paranoia or not:(
I luckly over came my other fears of bugs and contamination😁 but OMG what you have been doing is exactly what I do everyday and I havent realized it until watching you now! its like my ocd jump skiped these other fears to that fear😣 im overcoming this too now then😁 thanks for you video😚
growing up it was a fact to me that all the kids in my kindergarden class and my teachers were sitting behind a screen somewhere watching and listening to me through my favourite stuffed animals camera eyes. I would then go to school and be acting as if they already knew things about me from watching me
I found it most helpful to welcome the feeling. Brains are just trying to be helpful, so if we keep wanting to make something disappear, the brain keeps giving it to us so we can chase that goal we want: making it disappear. It's more useful to treat it like any random thing. Just some wallpaper in the background. It's welcome to be there. Then it actually does disappear.
Very helpful, thank you. Do you think we are born this way? I can remember being paranoid about the way I looked as far back as first grade. Perhaps the collective consciousness or some trauma I can't remember?
I'm really scared... I'm pretty sure there's some weird ghost people in my room. They're watching me and as soon as I go to sleep, they'll creep up on me... It's bugging me and I want to go to sleep.
Iam the same feels like I can sense people through walls, read minds, see things that dont make sense, weird dreams.I need help real bad cant go any longer.
I have social anxiety disorder and even alone in my apartment I feel like people are watching me and judging me. There are two businesses across from me and people always working so that doesn't help. It's every day.. I don't get a break from it. They're probably focusing on their work but I feel like they can see me through the curtains or blinds. I don't want to live like this anymore.
I appreciate you identifying these behaviors as compulsions. My OCD has gone untreated for several years and while it normally would be more pure-obsessive I’ve now begun to develop compulsions. But I never identified them as compulsions, just paranoid thoughts. I feel a wave of relief knowing that I’m not going insane but sad my symptoms have returned! Time to start hunting for a therapist…
I know this is a very late comment but sometimes when I'm in a room I feel like I have to look behind me constantly or whenever I'm alone or in a dark place I feel like something is looking at me and I feel like I'll die if I don't run immediately. Also I have anxiety so I don't know if that's a factor or not but I would imagine it would be
For me I probably imagined it but I hear tapping and feel a intense feeling of someone watching me I think i actually need help about imaginary tapping
I'd always think someone is watching me when I would shower and it freaked me out. Like when I'm naked. I got over that. I also can't stay up late because if I do any sound would make me think that someone is trying to come inside the house. So I'd just sleep quickly just to end my suffering. I still struggle with the latter. I used to also think people would plot to harm me or rob me or anything bad. I didn't enjoy my life whatsoever. I was constantly scared and paranoid. I don't know what happened that made me have confidence and stop caring what other people thought of me. But it did and it helped a lot.
I feel constantly followed watched, day or night. All. The. Time. And maybe a side note but also I constantly feel like my life is going to end and take whatever "precautions" I find necessary at the time to avoid said attack or accident or whatever. i.e: I live in a rural area pretty low traffic with decent travel from where I park to the front door (my "parking spot" is near the front of the drive way toward the road and I try my best to get on the porch ASAP every time in case an out of control car somehow manages through my yard and careening into me...so safe to say I should be safe of most all situations that "may or may not" arise
Hey, Mark. Keep up the great work! I want to start therapy for my OCD and anxiety issues and I would like to know: how do I find a ACT/ ERP therapist here, in Brazil, where I live?
+Julia Carvalho Thanks, Julia! That's great you're looking for ways to start dealing with those issues. When it comes to finding a therapist, you don't need to confine yourself locally. Many therapists work online and there's lots of research showing online therapy is just as effective if not more effective because it can be more flexible and easier to access. ACT / ERP are all about exercises you do on your own so you can find a great therapist anywhere in the world to give you those exercises. Here is a search engine that list ACT therapists, including many in Brazil: contextualscience.org/civicrm/profile?gid=17&reset=1&force=1 All the best as you continue on this journey of recovery!
My feeling of being watched is deferent I’m a truck driver when I go to crowd truck stops to park the rig because we are required to back it up I feel like everyone in the truck watching and telling oh look at that driver he don’t know how park it but actually I do I just get nervous from that feelings
I feel like there is an old man watching me with missing eyes. I feel like I need to just tell my parents but I can’t because I’m too scared. And sometimes I feel like I’m being controlled by him
I have a paranoia that I'm going to be killed. I've come to the same conclusion that if today is my last day I want to be my best self until the moment comes. It helps.
I'm aware that this video is six years old. LMAOO. However, I've been experiencing this sensation of fictional or real people reacting to my humor and weirdness in my class for a few months now. I'm not kidding when I say it's getting annoying. I haven't even been able to workout because I keep getting the creepy impression that imaginary characters are staring at me and laughing for no apparent reason. Even when I eat in the morning, I can't help but feel as though the same made-up characters are staring at me. And the only time I can divert my attention from this is when I am speaking with friends at school; otherwise, it occurs constantly.
I get extremely paranoid. I live alone, and I get paranoid my neighbors are listening to me through my walls. When I go outside, I get paranoid people are listening for me or watching me. I’m trying to get over this hump. It’s been like ten years now I’ve been going through this
I always feel like there’s multiple people watching me at once. And everywhere I go. Even when I’m with somebody else I’m still paranoid of being watched wherever I go
I always feel like there's a camera in my room, i don't know why, i just always feel like my parents put a camera in my room to watch me so that i do what they told me and not disobey them, but that just makes me paranoid.
Thanks for the video Mark. This is my go to video when my ocd and paranoia are ridiculously intense. I have the same issue as you mention in this video and I like the idea of my brain barking. I am going to try the cognitive diffusion technique. Kind regards :)
I just constantly feel like someone I actually know is in the room. Not a stranger, just someone I’m aware of existing and I’ve spoken to. I imagine them just standing there invisible in my room and this constantly makes it difficult to do everyday things. My mom tells me I might be Schizophrenic but idk
I've been searching for a comment like yours!! That's definitely what I feel. I am suspecting someone I know to be watching me and although it's clearly not, I can't convince my mind. But I'm actually fine when it's dark because I feel like he can't see me.
@@Jasmine-cn7nm I think this every single day! I don't know what to do about it, but it's been about 4 years now. I hope things have gotten better for you!

I think I have schizophrenia because my greatest fears are people with large eyes staring back at me. Sometimes they don’t have eyes and that is sometimes scarier. I also have a fear of the TVs that are turned off because I visualize stuff staring back at me, the same goes with windows at night. My whole life, I have covered my face in the dark because I’m scared of what could be out there even if there isn’t anything there. On a couple of occasions, I look out of my window for curiosity (during the daytime) and I saw a large black figure staring at me while walking towards the road. I still “see” it about once or twice a year.
Hi Mark. I have severe paranoia. I always think people are watching everything i do. I tell my closest friends about my problem. I now don't talk that much at school also i am just in highschool. I observe EVERY word someone tells me just to make sure they are not watching me. What should I do?
It can help to approach this in the same way as any other uncertainty. It helped me to cut out all of the different compulsions I was engaging in, not just focused on paranoia. For me, that was about learning to embrace uncertainty, not react to that with compulsions to try to control things and be certain, but instead to focus on doing things I valued. Avoiding talking and checking everything people say to make sure they aren't watching you are all examples of compulsions. As well, it helped me to tell my brain I wanted to be watched. If my brain said: "they might be watching you!" I would agree with it and then do something I cared about. That can create lots of anxiety at first but with practice, it shows your brain it doesn't have to worry about being watched because you're going to live your life anyway.
Paranoia is difficult to break, but this is one subtype i have seen people getting better for good ! Other themes of pure-o or somatic etc OCD are more difficult to break through
This would not be pure-o because there are some very big physical compulsions with paranoia. And I don't know what you mean about other themes being more difficult. They'd be the same. If you have some stories or beliefs about them being more difficult, it'll be useful to consider those are just stories, not reality. You can pick up some sự different stories if you'd like
@@everybodyhasabrain hi Mark, thanks for replying. What I mean is in paranoia, the basic fear is false, once that realisation is set, it is really easy that the anxiety and obsessions can go down. You can actually do ERP for this. For some themes like hyper-awareness (about your thoughts, or body parts etc) the obsessions are practically for every second of the day, there is nothing to realise and the rumination is so automatic ( this is not a compulsion but obsession), that one just can't help with it. What do you suggest
@Ashish-nd3xj Trying to reassure yourself that a fear is false is not ERP at all. ERP involves cutting out compulsions. So it is the same whether the unwanted experience is reacting to a fear of being attacked or a fear of not swallowing or a fear of not being real, etc. Rumination is also very much a compulsion, not an obsession. The obsession is just the topic. Like: I am obsessed with being real. But thinking about whether you are real or not is all compulsion. That's something we can change
@@everybodyhasabrain in somatic, hyper-awareness OCD types, the fear is not wether swollowing will happen or not, the core fear is this awareness will never go away and will ruin your life......and because it is so constant, you are automatically ruminating e.g. continuous thoughts of it in the background no matter what you do plus automatic checking if it is there, not there- it's not like active thinking, this process is automatic and non stop, one can't think anything else. When some one thinks of something else and then the hyper-awareness comes back, it is again and awareness (awareness about awareness etc) if this a was a compulsion, i would have had any control over it, this rumination on if I have the awareness/I don't have the awareness - how can that be a compulsion?
@Ashish-nd3xj Hyperawareness is a compulsion, just like if somebody is afraid tinnitus won't go away, afraid that focusing on their breath won't go away, somebody that's afraid anxiety won't go away, that intrusive thoughts won't go away, etc. I was only using the swallowing as an example. One of the things that can be useful to look at, like any compulsion, is the goal. If you have a goal of getting rid of an unwanted experience, that's the most basic OCD pattern. That's what contamination compulsions rely. When somebody is washing their hands repeatedly, that comes after an awareness they would say is automatic: that their hands feel contaminated. Many people with contamination compulsions will tell you the same thing you mentioned above: they're afraid they'll never get rid of that contaminated feeling. But working on this will involve wanting to have that feeling while living your life.

Kate McCormick I feel the same way ! I'm not in HS anymore I just graduated but no insurance either
diana camargo Im glad someone can relate! I always feel like Im the only one but I know I cant be.
Yeah i feel the same ,and its scary i try to forget about it or put my ear buds and sometimes it works
I feel the same way as you do
I felt like my friends had cameras in my house and when I would do something wierd or when I was showering I thought they were watching me
Fixx Foxx that is a very scary situation, and like you say the fact that you know you were right would in a way make it worse because you’ll become more paranoid.

Samee thereee mostly whenever im dancing i feel like some invisible things are watching me and i feel really uncomfortable.
Walking from my bedroom to the living room makes me conscious I always feel like I'm being watched by invisible people. Even by the people I meet or even by my own friends.Even when I'm home alone, I feel really very conscious.
fr like this should be talked about more since so many people experience it.
Wildfire Omega I keep a cross by my bed for that reason
Omfg same it's so scary
Close the door before you turn off the lights
Same with me, when I’m staying up at night I always keep looking behind me, because I think some sort of figure would come out behind me
I love the last technique about imagining your worst fear but deciding to live by your values anyway and carrying on and then you’d feel better.

Your just haunted or it’s hallucinations
i keep seeing faces in windows and thinking that demons are trying to enter my house. so i would try to wipe it off and see myself in the window and try to convince myself that it’s my reflection but my brain is telling me that demons have taken my body and i’m not in control. sometimes i even hear, see, and feel other people in the room. i keep feeling hands on my face, knees, arms, shoulders and thighs. i see human like figures in corners and in windows and dark hallways. i hear voices when i try to sleep. i hear footsteps in my halls when the door is closed. i see things move and when i make eye contact with it, it’s back in the original spot. it’s terrifying.
+Jonas Pieniniemi That's great that approach was helpful. Recognizing that my brain is just like any organ really helped me as well
I have it, Im only 12 and everytime its dark outside I always feel like im being watched...I just CANT get it out of my head...
It's completely normal for everybody to experience fears, especially in the dark. It helped me to see that my brain is like a puppy and it's scared of a lot of things, so I need to teach it how to be brave and teach how to be quiet and not bark at every little thing.
The Antagonist same bro but I just turned 13
@@wattups2527 Hi! This comment is actually very old. I am 13 now and will be turning 14 in less than a month, Of course, this doesn't mean my paranoia is gone. It's still here and I haven't yet learned how to control it. I sure hope things for you end up getting better though!
The Antagonist hello! We are very close in age! I turn 14 in a few weeks! I have something similar and what I do is just hug my dog and I say like that for 5 minutes. Doing that makes me feel a little better and you also bond with your pet. You can also go a therapist or do some breathing exercises
Breathe in slowly (you should count to 7 while you breathe in l)
Then hold it for 6 seconds if possible
Then breathe out for 5 seconds
Then breathe in for 4 seconds
Hold for 3
Breathe a out for 2
Then start over again do it as long as you need it really works.

I did a lot of the same things. It was useful to cut out those compulsions. It's the compulsions that fuel the fear.

There is a corner in my room that I always have to look at when I’m sleeping because it feels like someone is watching me. I’ve needed to fall asleep to movies the past few nights because every noise seems off to me
When I was young I'd always think all my friends made a machine to watch the things is do and felt super uncomfortable so I stayed in bed all day.
same I thought my friends had a bubble that could shrink and that they were watching me so I would feel realy uncomfortable
This solid advice made my day
1 year ago i went to my relatives place.
The same thing is happening to me it's been 3 months now
@@kagisokgmk5135 what do you do basically?

I hate this feeling, I feel like there's always just one person spying all the time. I wish I could make it dissapear.

I sometimes feel someone is watching or is hiding somewhere in my house and I also feel someone is going to kidnap me

I'm aware that this video is six years old. LMAOO. However, I've been experiencing this sensation of fictional or real people reacting to my humor and weirdness in my class for a few months now. I'm not kidding when I say it's getting annoying. I've been searching for a comment like yours!! That's definitely what I feel. I am suspecting someone I know to be watching me and although it's clearly not, I can't convince my mind. But I'm actually fine when it's dark because I feel like he can't see me.
Exactly lol. Like even on walks or driving in the car, I feel like their with the entire time and I just get so self conscious and uncomfortable
@@Jasmine-cn7nm I think this every single day! I don't know what to do about it, but it's been about 4 years now. I hope things have gotten better for you!
my cousin is suffering from fear of police wanting to set him on drug charges . every time he goes out he thinks he is being followed. the other day he went for a job interview but he thought they were part of the police plan to take his DNA so the police can link him to drugs, so he never took the job .
Is he getting better ?
Did he find a job ?
I think I have schizophrenia because my greatest fears are people with large eyes staring back at me. Sometimes they don’t have eyes and that is sometimes scarier. I also have a fear of the TVs that are turned off because I visualize stuff staring back at me, the same goes with windows at night. My whole life, I have covered my face in the dark because I’m scared of what could be out there even if there isn’t anything there.
On a couple of occasions, I look out of my window for curiosity (during the daytime) and I saw a large black figure staring at me while walking towards the road. I still “see” it about once or twice a year.
For me I was being watched in my motel room it was a unwarranted covert surveillance sting operation i was entrapped by an informant.
Sometimes i feel nervous for no reason. And sometimes my mind makes stupid scenarios and it scares me.
I feel like I'm being watched too sometimes.
Brains like to brain!
@@everybodyhasabrain you can say that again 🤣
I feel like I'm being watched when I try to fall asleep
It started a week after I made this drawing that was really creepy
I felt like the drawing was watching me
It keeps me up at night..
I'm scared!
I don't like this, I just wanna sleep!
i feel like people are watching me...like I'm in a movie and theirs an audience somewhere watching me, this makes me feel like my life isnt even real,, i can never act like myself even when i "know" im alone i feel like someone can see me. especialy when im doing something personal, like crying or eating or watching this youtube video. i can see that there are no people in my room but feel uneasy and watched. this also happens in public. at school assembly i stand or sit sto straight and don't breath..even sucking in so i dont look fat...im always to scared to check if anyone is actually looking. all of this makes me embarrased even when im alone...like how when you fall over in public and try to make it look smooth and play it off cool..i feel the need to do this at home alone asswell.
ik this is a late ass comment and no one cares.. byeee now:)
@@여름-s8b how are you doing now
my paranoia is more of putting thoughts and believes into complete strangers making the anxiety sky rocket
That is the same fear!
