I wane nostalgic for my RX2, I had one when I was in High School. Cut my teeth as a mechanic, changing the many points, plugs, distributor caps, checking the gas and adding oil, but worth it. Nothing, nothing compares to the seemingly limitless RPM's, and the traction on slippery roads, which rivaled my Audi 200 Turbo quattro.
Nice RX2 you have there. Interior is pretty much all there. My first car was a ‘71 RX2 two door. Bought it for $400 with 40k miles. It overheated and warped the rotor housings. I put new housings and drove it for a couple years til I wrecked it. It had the 2 button steering wheel too. If you hold the center horn down and press on and off the side buttons the horn does a two tone sound. After that I found a 73 with a bad motor and fixed it. Drove it for another couple years and sold it. I bought and sold maybe 10-15 rotaries back in the 70’s. No body wanted them when the engine died. Parts were easy to get from the dealer. Now I have an 85 RX7 GSLSE.
My Rx-2's "landau" vinyl was a dealership item. The orig owner's request was for the exterior to remain as it was bought. Althoughn at times i wish it didn't have a vinyl. Very nice front end suspension there! 👍
Complete survivor RX2, that vinyl top with all the stainless trim molding, carpet, and that steering wheel/shifter knob uuufff! Paint is B5 Galac Silver Metallic, love that color.
Dealer vinyl roof, pretty rare, i had 1 on a 72 Ford I owned. They went out of fashion so a lot have been removed. Nice back story on the car, makes it special to the current owner 😊

B5 might be Galac Silver according to a chart I have.
In the 1969-72 Mazda color chart I have, all codes are two letter only and those which start with B are blue colors.
