- Watch as Manchester City star Erling Haaland mocks John Stones’ Barnsley accent - and gets it spot on.
During a discussion with Ilkay Gundogan about the most spectacular sights they have seen on their travels, the England defender explained his admiration for the Louvre but got his pronunciation wrong.
“The Louvre? Is that how you say it?” Stones said sheepishly, before being corrected by Gundogan.
Haaland wasn’t so forgiving though and found his teammate’s pronunciation hilarious, going on to mimic Stones’ Yorkshire accent.

John stones accent sounds more like a Sheffield accent than Barnsley oddly.
It's because he's changed his accent since he went to city. When he played for Barnsley he talked in his natural accent. Sheffield accent is a bit posher.

@@maxwellgrimes3704 yeah he was but I live in Rotherham myself, his accent has changed a lot. It's a media trained accent now which is a shame, generic northern I would call it. Kinda like Jamie Vardy.

I’ve been to churches, synagogues, gurdwaras, temples and mosques, doesn’t mean I have to believe in those religions, but you can’t deny that some of the most stunning and groundbreaking architecture/interiors are found in religious buildings. You wouldn’t go to places like Istanbul without seeing the churches and mosques, you wouldn’t go to Rome without seeing the Vatican. No sane person would choose not to see huge landmarks just because they’re built by people of a different religion.
Haaland got it spot on because he is a bona fide Yorkshireman. I think he was born in either Bradford or Leeds.
