- Got a few of these rather rare screens, follow me to explore how they works and how do they looks
The main paper I was referencing to in the video:

Other papers I read when trying to understand the technology and driving methods:

This video was unscripted so it would be quite a bit of work for me to re-dub it in English. I decided to just add a manually checked auto-translated English subtitle to it. I actually have a bunch of more videos that I don't quite have time to re-dub. Let me know if using subtitles can be a reasonable approach and if I should upload more videos here in this manner. I promise normal scripted videos would still be in English but I just don't have time to do all my videos in 2 different languages
I think subtitled videos are still reasonable and I'll watch them.
Would you consider using whisper to do voice transcription? I'll watch either way. The whisper API (openAI)or Google's voice translator if you want to try.
The subs were excellent
Happy to watch it this way.
I think it's exhausting reading the subtitles in such a long and fast video. You can't look away even for a second. I'd appreciate an English AI voice.
That being said I'd still watch the videos with subtitles. The content is worth it.
As someone learning Mandarin, this type of video is precisely what I want for listening practice. It's highly technical and interesting but spoken in Mandarin with both Mandarin and English subtitles. And it just came up in my UA-cam recommendations randomly, which was a surprise! 😮
Very cool demonstration of the display. The technology looks to be around 15 years old and looking at the old videos online it looks like the screen do a full black frame before rendering which take around a second to scan the frame in.
taobao/aliexpress are absolute heaven for hobby electronics...
So true
Most electronics components no longer ship to some countries though, which has become endlessly annoying.
我觉得你一直那么棒。加油!
Fascinating journey with this interesting technology. I suppose it was better on paper.
big thanks for the subtitles, even if you don't want to redub the video it shows an attention to detail that many youtubers don't put into their videos!
literally only channel where i don't understand a word but i watch every video and enjoy it.
I also interested in what e-ink pad you are using. The quality looks very good. Please tell me the brand and model. Thanks!
Wow! Very interesting video. I had never heard of QR-LPD
oh by the way, what eink tablet are you using at 4:30 in the video, it looks quite useful
It's still pretty cool.

Muchas gracias por comoartir, lamoiga a alibaba o AliExpress?
Can I ask what e-reader that is - where the PDF abstract is displayed
It looks a lot like the remarkable tablet UI although I couldn't say which version
It's the remarkable paper pro
@@nbzwt Thank you
