Camper reveal, Travel Outback Australia

It's been a long time coming but here is our offroad teardrop camper trailer build. Thanks go to Redarc, Cruisemaster and Narva in particular.

Hi looks amazing! Can you tell me about the aluminium trim around the hatch. I am trying to design a waterproof hatch with Australian extrusions! Thanks!

Neil, I used an aluminum angle which I bent around the radius and glued and screwed it in position. On the hatch itself I used a pinch weld with a d cell rubber attached. It was a bit fiddly and the two surfaces had to match perfectly.

Neil, I forgot, sorry I only have pinchweld on the hatch door. The d cell cushion is glued to the ally trim on the frame. The pinchweld seals up against the d cell rubber. Cheers

How hard did you find the rego process?

In South Australia it was quite easy. I followed the National standards for small manufacture of trailers and was able to use a permitted builder to sign off on the build for rego purposes. I think it varies from state to state these days with recent changes in some jurisdictions. Cheers
