- Vector Optics 5x Prism Magnifier in front of 1x Prism Scope
Paragon 1x prism scope is after 5x Magnifier.
Still work and has very good eye relief.
Compared with a red dot sight, with a 1x prism scope you can enjoy a much better crystal clear image.
An interesting test, which proves its working.

Thanks for all your kind reminders. We shot this video in our company‘s corridor with a model rail, thus it will not cause any damage.
Whats this model called
You guys are killing it lately:). Good job!
Thanks a bunch.
That's so damn crystal clear.
😀
Definitely getting one for my birthday

Usually the magnifier is before the red dot in the assembly. in the case of the prism scop with 3x zoom + the 3x magnofier, is it right for the prism scop to be before the magnifier? I bought a 3x prism scope and a 3x magnifier and I'm having trouble adjusting.
Hi, generally speaking, the 3x prism scope is in the front of the 3x magnifier. Are they in the same height?
www.vector2007.com
I’m not an optics designer, but generally, I can’t imagine ever getting two magnified images in series to work.. you could run two prisms in series if one was only 1x.
How is the eye relief compared to a primary arms 3x LER ? I want more magnification but dont want to fiddle with a crappy 1 inch eye box
Hi. The eye relief for 5× magnifier is 2.8 inch.
@@VectorOptics That's actually pretty good, for how much magnification you get that's actually pretty awesome.
you can just buy an lpvo if you want
I was wondering if this would work if I could use a 1x prism and a magnifier for my AR
Hi, yes, yes, you can combine 1x prism scope with a magnifier together. thanks.
www.vector2007.com
@@VectorOptics 🤦🏾♂️ I think that was sarcasm.
Did running the magnifier in front make your eyebox super tight? Thanks.
Hi. When the maginification goes up, the filed of view automatically becomes smaller, thus the eye box becomes smaller as well.
@@VectorOpticshello. I'm aware of magnification giving you a smaller field of view. by tighter, I mean side to side/ up down movement leads to you loosing your image. Does that become tighter?
@@guyinthewrinkledwrangler..."thus the eye box becomes smaller as well".
Shouldn't the magnifier be placed before the 1x? I see in the video that the field of view is a bit compromised. A small camera shake hit the sight corner, i mean.
Ultimately the prism and the magnifier are two independent optical structures, so when put together, the images will not be as clear as the images from the scopes.
If you put the prism in front of the magnifier, it becomes an FFP and the reticle of the prism will be bigger, thus it may block your eyesight. On the contrary, put the prism behind the magnifier, then it is an SFP, and the reticle remains the size.
Just twist the diopter compensation knobs and find the clearest images under both conditions. Choose what is on your demands :)
@@VectorOptics For whatever reason it did not work for me. I have the prism and 3x magnifier.
A magnifier in front of the optic. So you basically made a second plain focal scope. Interesting choice.
Yes, sir. It's a interesting match.
I'm surprised the eye relief isn't an issue mounting a 5x that far forward
Yes, but it may not be practical in real shooting.
So because it turns into a 2ndfocalplane, does that mean that it has some bad zero shifting at 5x?
Hi. Not exactly. Ultimately the prism and the magnifier are two independent optical structures, so when put together, the images will not be as clear as the images from the scopes.
I've heard that having a magnifier in front of an optic can cause it to shift zero if they aren't in theoretical perfect alignment because of glass parallax or something. Is this model designed to be used this way or is it just an option?
Hi. You're right. It's just a try. Actucally the image does not looks as clear as using them seperately due to the focus.
right on awesome info.. i didnt know you could use Magnifier with a prism optic. I know this may be redundant, but i wonder if that would work with a 3x prism and a 5x magnifier
Yeah, it is a irregular match. And we will try a 3x prism and a 5x magnifier soon.
I thought the door was like 10 meters away from you lol
Yes, not too far. Caz it is filmed in our company.
Did you have the magnifier in front of the 1x?
Hi, yes, you got it. The magnifier is in front of the 1x prism scope.
@@VectorOptics thanks for the info
@@jessicabranham4508 you are welcome.
Thinking the same thing, is there a reason or is that just how they threw it on?
How far is that door?
About 50yds, sir.
Is this really magnifier for Prism? or is it for red dot? I thought Prism cannot be magnified
Hi. Yes. But this is not a mainstream match.
@@VectorOpticswhat do you mean by mainstream match
@@Ben-hd7xd Shooters usually use the red with a magnifier, not a prism scope. And the optical structures are quite different from red dots and prism scopes. The 5x magnifier can magnify a 1x red dot for 5x, but for a 1x prism scope, it is not 5x. So it is an uncommonly-seen match.
@@VectorOptics Hello. I have the 1x Paragon Prism. What will the true magnification be with this 5x magnifier?
@@ThePatriotPath Hi. There is actually no standard magnification for the 5x magnifier.

Let me get that set up to do a UA-cam review on
Hi. Which optics do you want to review? Or both of them?
How much does only the magnifier cost?
Hi. Around 120$. Take a look at this link.vector2007.com/products/maverick-1x22-genii-red-dot-sight-3x-red-dot-magnifier
What model of magnifier is this? I cant seem to find it on the website
Hi. It's Paragon 5x30 Micro Magnifier. Take a look at the link. www.vectoroptics.com/products/view/id/SCMF-34.html
Can the magnifier go with a holographic EOTech sight? I might buy the product.
Hi, yes, it can fit very well. Thanks.
www.vector2007.com
If you have an eotech you might aswell get the eotech magnifier....
Anybody know the name of the exact sight and magnifier in this video
Hi. They are Vector Optics Paragon 1x prism scope and Maverick 5x Magnifier.
Would it work if you put that magnifier in front of a 3x prism?
Hi. If you put the prism behind the magnifier, then it is an SFP, and the reticle remains the size. It still works as long as there's enough eye relief.
Wait u can’t put it in front?
Yes. It can be put in front.
Where do i buy the same set up
Hi. Take a look at these links.
Prism scope vector2007.com/products/paragon-1x16-micro-prism-scope-1
magnifier vector2007.com/products/scot-08-5x-magnifier-w-flip-side-mount
But does the point of impact remain the same with the magnifier on and off?
Hi, yes, it remains the same impact, thanks.
@@VectorOptics no offense, but I would really like to see a video confirming the no point of impact shift claim...
I mean with actual shooting involved ;-)
Damn, I just bought the 3x Paragon prism! Might have been better off with this combo after all...
No. It won’t work like this. You might be able to get it lined up and focused right but point of impact isn’t gonna work out for you. I tried this with a pa slx 1x micro and sig Juliet 3. And on top of that, when you do this with something like the slx with a bdc reticle, you’re essentially creating a second focal plane scope that makes and of your holds incorrect at magnification.. Not worth it. Although I have seen one front magnifier designed for prisms I think some cheaper Brand makes a 2x front magnifier monstrum or someone.
Can someone link to the 1x sight thank u
Hi. You can take a look at it at this link with our UA-cam special 10% off code: VEUA-cam2024 vector2007.com/products/paragon-1x16-micro-prism-scope-1
@@VectorOptics thank you.
its possible to use the maverick 5x magnifier in front of this 1x micro prism?
Hi. Definitely it is as long as you adjust to the suitable eye relief and the focus (adjust the diopter compensation on the prism scope for the right focus).
More please
Got it, sir.
What optic is the one that has that holo sight or the optic that your showing what is that optics name like specifically 😂
Hi, it is our paragon 1x16 prism scope (SCPS-M01) and 5x prism magnifier (SCMF-34). Thanks.

To all of the armchair operators, its a freaking model, not a gun, and its a damn optics comapny; they know more than you.
Thanks for your explanation.
What's the reason you think everyone should auto know this without being informed
Magnifier infront of the optic?
Hi, yes, it is in the front, thanks.
www.vector2007.com
@@VectorOptics why put the magnifier infront of the optic versus the back?
@@dsrrecordsent Hi, mainly because of the eye relief. Red dot is free, but the prism scope only has 70mm eye relief. If we put a magnifier behind the prism optic, it is too far for the shooter to use it.
@@VectorOptics ahhhh I see! Do you think a red dot with a magnifier has an edge? I understand if you have a stigmatism that makes your red dot unusable than no but under normal circumstances?

Thanks for reminding us. But we guess you misunderstood, sir. We shot this video in our office corridor with a model rail, thus it will not cause any damage.
That's not how that's done lol. If it's a true 1x Prism the magnifier should work perfectly fine behind it like any 1x red dot sight
Haha, it's not the mainstream method.
Even vortex says prism scopes don’t work with magnifier because you’d have to adjust it every time. Putting in front works best for 1x
@@mSouvannasing93 I think the eye relief on the vortex is not big enough to fit a magnifier in between the eye and the 1x prism. PA are the first to come up with a big enough eye relief to put a magnifier behind the 1x prism, as far as I know. But who cares, if the magnifier works in front of the 1x prism?
Now do it with a 3x prism
All right!
Tou have them mounted backwards... but otherwise great job mall ninja

If that's mounted to a firearm of any kind then your lack of muzzle awareness means you should never be allowed to hold a weapon again.
