  • Uncle Si has some choice words to say to the shoplifter of John-David's business. Si and Martin reminisce about their own good, bad and ugly customer service moments, with the best one coming from Phil's days as the Duck Commander owner. John-David's devoted Facebook followers help him track down a thief. Uncle Si has discovered a dangerous new sport that makes Martin shiver, in more ways than one. Jay nearly got his butt whooped by Burly on the jiu jitsu mat, but he's decided to be a good sport about it. The boys answer some interesting listener questions about redneck engineering, a blind but successful hunter, and the NICU. We lived up north. We did alot of skiing, ice skating and ice fishing. On a good day we could use an ice shanti and stay warm. There was 1 bridge that in the spring time you didn't want to hang out on. Anyone that fell in and wasn't found, come spring they turned up under this bridge.

I'm sure that, as a nurse, Burly probably has to lift and move patients all the time. Every time a patient has to be moved from a gurney to a bed, or lifted up so they can change dressings or sheets the other nurses are going to call for that big nurse called Burly.

I enjoy your show and appreciate your influence to the world, telling everyone about the good news of the bible .
I decided to relate my experience of landing on this planet about 67 years ago .
In 1957, I was born 2 months early and I weighed 3 pounds 2 ounces . Since my lungs were not developed enough, my blood was not getting enough oxygen and I was black in appearance . They rushed me to an incubator in which I stayed for 2 weeks . They did not even let my mom see me for several days because of my color . ( Well, just now for the first time, I realize that maybe I was just dark blue ? I just now thought of it that I got that story from my dad who was colorblind ) So, maybe I was really dark blue and not black .
Anyway, I was ok and ended up at 6 feet 1 inches tall with no medical problems except - I spent my 4th birthday while in 12 weeks quarantine for spinal meningitis . The only person who could enter into the room was the nurse carrying a large metal cased syringe .
We went to The Church of Christ and I continued going there until I was 33 years old . I kept wondering about the verses that speak of the ELECTION of God . When I asked about it, I was told that it means the collection of all those who become believers .
The problem I was having is that the bible teaches us that the easiest wrong thing to do, in this life, is to DECEIVE YOURSELF !
I got baptized when I was a kid about 9 years old . However, as time when on, as I got older, I kept wondering if I was saved or not because I could be fooling myself . So, over the next several years, I got baptized a couple more times . ( I was thinking that I probably didn't do it right or I was just deceiving myself that I did it right ... )
Then came the realization that, if it is my decision that determines whether or not God saves me, then because I might be deceiving myself - I could be wrong . Also, at any time in the future, I might change my mind and decide to not want to follow Jesus any more .
I could never figure how the verses about - all things work for good ... and don't be anxious about anything could be possible to do if my salvation is, in any wise, up to me .
I decided to read the bible from the start to the end with a mindset to consider that God is sovereign in all things - especially salvation as Romans chapter 9 explains it .
When I got done, I realized that the only way that I can understand those verses and many other ones in the bible, is to know that God is the one who chooses whom He will have mercy on and save them . Not only that, God has ordained EVERYTHING that comes to pass . That is how all things work for good to those who love God and are called according to HIS purpose . It's because when God decides there is a purpose for someone to fulfill, then God chooses someone to do it and makes ALL THINGS in the whole world work with that person to get the job done .
Everything is an orchestra with God as the conductor who continually trains everyone to get their part right, until they learn it . The whole while, there are swarms of yellow jackets that come in and sting people left, right, and center . Some people stay a while and some leave early, however, it is the conductor who decides what each person's part is and how long their service will be needed .
Another verse and many more also convinced me - a leopard cannot change his spots - well - he cannot even raise his hand and ask for the Creator to change his spots - now can he ? No, because he is a leopard .
Can a sinner who is dead, walk the isle ? No, they are a slave - just like the story of the Jewish slaves in Egypt . They could not just leave . And the ONLY reason why they knew that they could pray to God is that FIRST God chose them ! First God must reveal Himself . To some, He reveals Himself as a father and to others He reveals Himself as a judge .
The whole bible is about : God does everything good and no good is found without God's direct initiative . Anyone who is not saved has a heart of stone and that heart of stone will NEVER make the right decision for God . The natural mind CANNOT understand ANYTHING of the Spirit . They cannot hear or see or understand the truth of Jesus . AT ALL .
The difference of the sower sowing seed on different soils is that God Himself has prepared that soil that is good ! Romans 9 . The sower has no idea what the soil is going to be like during the time that seed is there and the plant grows or not . In this case the sower only sows - he does not prepare the soil . It is God who creates one vessel unto honor and another unto dishonor - for His good pleasure - those who are called according to his purpose .
Now, since I know that there is no good thing in me and I find that anything that I do good is not me, it is God - and the things I would do - I do not - and the things that I would not do - that I do .
Even with the war raging inside me, there is only one way I can be sure that I am saved and it is that God has adopted me because of who He is and nothing about who I am . He adopted me and He is a perfect father that will NEVER leave me or let me go .

I don't condone theft of any kind. That said, outing a thief or thieves is immature & contrary to biblical teachings. A closer to home example is how Phil handled the men stealing his fish that he needed to sell in order to provide for his family. Phil *absorbed* what he'd learned from the Bible & he offered those thieves not only forgiveness but the *gift* of what they were stealing. I noticed who jumped to judge & I noticed who did not. Unashamed is a good podcast (*used to be* a great one, but I have to fast forward through too much now) & this podcast is one I never miss. Blessings! Jackie in upstate NY

Im a 71 year old pastor. unwise to do a "Mini Council" with family matters re: marriage and inlaws. Most of the time the marriage is on the line because {Usually) the parents want to rule their marriage and she can't leave daddy and mommy, taking away his headship, leaving him very frustrated. Stone is right, there is a lot more to this than your getting here. If this is the case, then it could lead to divorce. Look at these, Gen 2:24; Mt 19:1-6; Mk 10:1-8 are in context of 'causing divorce. Be careful guys throwing "Drive Through Council" at people.
