Extraordinary band.
When they started they put out fliers saying something along the lines of "unburden yourself" to us, it had a call line attached and people were able to share all the darkness and societally taboo things. There's a lot of restrictions still in Japan about not complaining, not expressing suffering or difficulty.
Bands like Kizu give voice to the silent.
It saved me in the last 8 years. I've had illness, have illnesses... that are robbing me of everything.
I don't want messages of love and happiness I don't experience.
These bands validate my pain, my existential suffering, my constant questioning of why even bother living.
These bands sell what they sing, they inhabit the songs, they feel it. It's not just "la la la baby love me" it's "why am I alive. Why was I born? Should I continue?"
It's real, under the theatrics. Contrast.
Kizu are definitely one of the best.
